How do you prefer to race opponents?

A specific follow-up to https://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=20834 that sadly didn't get any response. This is to poll for the next JDC season and race event.

Since 6.2 plus made several enhancements to race, it could be a viable replacement of the race mutator. But there's one big difference in how race works between the two:

-Since 6.2 in /gamemode race, injury is off and your bullets knock around racing opponents (same as vanilla behavior)
-In race.mut, injury is on, you have infinite health (same as every past JDC race event behavior, except you are also able to take springs while blinking, which wasn't the case when it was hosted in treasure hunt in the first years)

I made this poll to ask the community how you prefer racing.

EDIT: Forgot to change the title. Woops. It should say "How should racing oppponents work"

A major third option is "bullets should not affect opponents at all." I don't subscribe to it myself, but I've seen it argued.

There's also the related, yet separate question of whether players should be able to collide with each other.

Personally I'm fine keeping the same behavior that JJ2 has used for Race games since 1998.

Counterargument: The levels designed for race levels have been designed to have injury combat in mind, because of how history inevitably went.

Those race games since 1998 also never worked online, and therefor have not been played for more than 4 players.

I left no collision out of the equation on purpose because it feels like a completely different game mode. Like a time trial. More similar to trackmania or test manager.

I'm definitely going for the second option here, taking away the ability to injure is most definitely going to devalue shooting noticeably, which would consequently reinforce race leaders even further and significantly decrease the likeliness of overtaking said leaders, especially when they're well acquainted with the flow of things.

I'd also add to this the notion of reconsidering how player-to-player collisions should behave, because honsetly it's plain frustrating needlessly at times especially at the brief start of a race or fighting over a vertical pole. I suggest either removing it altogther or, at the very least, have a prolonged duration of total invulnerability at start to make it fair game.
