...in which case, I do not want to see your levels.
Anyway, no free time until January, and afterwards, I have my own projects to work on. Count me as a probable negative (who does not recall ever signing up in the first place). |

Heh. If were still trying to escape, or at the final part of it, it would have to have really rockin' music. Warping out of the space-station or whatever, seeing it implode in a ball of flame or whatever...
I just want to know how I'm going to put my level(s) here and what tilesets I should use. I've got the idea for what some of the levels should look like...

I know, I was just asking what tileset you recommend I should use.

Well, I'm interested in this concept since the beginning. But I fear that school is going to take all my free time away. If you need someone to make big bases or something similar, I might come in handy. (allthough I'd like to use a different tileset than Top3)

*sigh*, i can't play the first level because it keeps saying the 'out of memory' error.

Edit: Okay, the gameplay's pretty much finished, now all I need is testers and finishing eyecandy..
edit2: if someone wants to do the eyecandy, no problem for me, just contact me. (That's not against the rules, is it?) it's just because I have alot to do atm

Alright, I just tested the level and I think it's pretty good, but after the first warp you can't see anything anymore(it stayed white at me) but I could still finish the level since that's pretty much the end.
My MSN crashed so that's why I went offline, sorry Olsen. Edit: I would not mind if somebody else did the eye candy but you have to find someone who is willing too. |

I might forget to tell you but you should already know that the first levels are 1.23 and I would like to keep it that way. People who only have 1.24 can still join but may only use 1.23 compatible tilesets and events so I can edit the level and let it work in 1.23

I'll just repeat once more that even after j2b-ising the music file for first level is still too large to handle for 1.23, especially since the level itself uses a lot of memory-choking effects like ambient sounds almost everywhere and many animations. You can simply mute music in your Jazz2 before playing, this way the music file won't be loaded. Of course the downside is that you'll lose a lot of clima without the music, but if that's the only way, there is no choice. Or simply, get TSF because technically it's just better than 1.23 in all ways.

I don't understand what the trouble is with getting a copy of TSF. I have 1.20 and 1.24 and I can say the sound quality is considerably better. It crackles less for me, at least. Of course, you're free to do as you like. I'm busy working on the first level of a pack I'll probably never finish.
If you ask me, it would be cool to take this pack and make it into a mish-mosh of "let me tell the tale of Jazz Jackrabbit when he.." and allow each person to tell a story of Jazz in a different theme/plot (maybe movie themes like James Bond, or Back to the Future; the level I'm working on is Indiana Jones based if anyone is wondering). |

Alternatively, the original .it file could be downsampled a little bit and then recompressed.

Sacrush, I'm having second thoughts about my participation. I'm not a fast level creator, I have only moderate skills in working with JCS, and I don't think I can create a level of the quality (Or plot) others are currently working at. So, I would like to withdraw.

You guys make it much to.. tied.
Why not dump all process, like an true open source, and everybody is just allowed to improve. That will keep it very active because people will debat what the like and what not. Perhaps that just keep us OF the leveleditor, and just talk about it.. but it would be great if somebody just made levels. I just like to tweak stuff. |
Dec 11, 2006, 06:41 PM | |
Marijn you could accept to betatest if you want to do that.
We'd get nowhere if we kept debating over a level. This isn't "Let's fight over how to make a level with a bunch of backseat driving" this is "Let's make a community episode, get it done, and have a (-) good time doing it" |
