no its not i am still working on things like a new layout for the website:
( http://www.eckhart.da.ru/razz/ ) and im still trying to make a good map for the game (celshading is hard) and since McDougal is taking a break now there isnt a lot news to post on the website. but i am still working :P

Quake3 Open source
for the players that are waiting for a stand alone version of Razz Arena:
### December 31st, 2004 @ John Carmack's Blog ### Quake 3 Source I intended to release the Q3 source under the GPL by the end of 2004, but we had another large technology licensing deal go through, and it would be poor form to make the source public a few months after a company paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for full rights to it. True, being public under the GPL isn’t the same as having a royalty free license without the need to disclose the source, but I’m pretty sure there would be some hard feelings. Previous source code releases were held up until the last commercial license of the technology shipped, but with the evolving nature of game engines today, it is a lot less clear. There are still bits of early Quake code in Half Life 2, and the remaining licensees of Q3 technology intend to continue their internal developments along similar lines, so there probably won’t be nearly as sharp a cutoff as before. I am still committed to making as much source public as I can, and I won’t wait until the titles from the latest deal have actually shipped, but it is still going to be a little while before I feel comfortable doing the release. ### END ### ![]() When it does we can compile our verry own game that can be downloaded at the Razz Arena website (don't look now it just wont work with a server that is unplugged)

ive been thinking of releasing what have done b4 my little vacation and slowly get back to work on this. I have formated my system so ive been reinstalling stuff as needed along the way. Q3A will make it back on. when it does ill retest the world/map/server change update i did. when it works the way id like it ill release it as a test self contained pak. which will prob make it in the the razz base when the servers come available. id like to make it if possable server contolled. as being that not all the servers will be workin at the same time, have the main server update the config files each log in session (if able). During the time i was Mia, i was hoping for some player models to apear and some maps. from last when i checked i only heard or seen one map (please let me be wrong ^.^). hope fully after piets server is back to normal and i can see what all has been goin on ill release the test stuff. Note: I still have been unable to get the weapon system working the way as needed. I have not seen the Q3A engin go open source yet.. |

http://www.armadilloaerospace.com/n....cent%20Updates take a look here its about QUake3 going opensource. i just woke up today at 12:43 and i am ready to do some work on my new map. oh and about the world/level system, i have a cool idea: when the player is in a World looking for a level (arena) the camera will move above the player and zoom out a bit. (like Mario land) allso the player cant shoot other players, and if we allso disable the jump the ground should be flat. maybe the - / + buttons can zoom in and out. like ever this is just a tought.

maybe you are right.
i was thinking about what kind of arena's there must be. maybe the community can help us by giving us idea's like draw somthing (quick and dirty). when the Core of the game is ready and we only need to make new (player) models, maps, sounds, and 2d art, we can start working on our verry own jazz2 world with arena's in it. there is still a long way to go but we can do it. when my new server is up and running. i can host a quake3 server again. at the end of this year i am upgrading my connection to a 8Mbp/s download 1Mbp/s upload so it will be faster. in this server i will test new arena's and the arena selection world (maybe more than one world in the same map). when everything is done ( ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() server #1: The Jazz2 World. server #2: Arena1 server #3: Arena2 server #4: Arena3 server #5: Arena4 etc... of cource we can host more than one server one a machine.

Yeah, well, it would be harder, but also much more interesting if we could not only wander around Carrotus, but also teleport to other planets. At least the ones from first JJ1 episode if not more.

like you can step into a rocket and then you will connect to the other server that hosts that planet. or even cooler if you go into a rocket you will load a sub level where you can choose a planet. (lik you are in a space ship pressing buttons) does somone know how jazz's space ship looks like? (does he even has one)

Jazz's spaceship was destroyed while landing on Turtemple, as we read in the manual.

It was destroyed on Turtemple, but he used it again later in JJ1 (I forgot exactly where), so it was probably fixed somehow.

tnx for the image now i remember (but i dont have a manual, it was a cd only buy)
but look at his ship. its perfect for a crasch somewhere in a level/arena. maybe with some ammo in it. There is Jazz01 on his ship. I can make a bigger one an call it Jazz02. maybe somone has some idea's how it should look. i was thinking about making it the same shape but with more windows and bigger of cource

I think there are different kinds of JJ1's because on my manual there is no spaceship and at the end he kisses princess Eva at my JJ1

I don't mean to make this into a debate, though that is logical, but Jazz got the location of Eva through use of the battleship's computer, after defeating the dark jazz. So, at the moment, it would seem logical to me, that they're still somewhere.

i was thinking about making ships like the Jazz01 and add them in the levels.
1 or to persons can go in it and then they will fly to some nearby planet. (maybe with some trigger/switch thats in the craft.) next there are large space ships where you can fly to all planets. i will draw the space ships to get a feeling :P (this is all verry far away from release)
