Random farfetched theory time!

Let's start with a list of all Jazz games and the year in which they were released.

Jazz Jackrabbit (1994)
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (1998)
Jazz Jackrabbit Advance (2002)

See it yet? No? Let me make it a bit clearer.

Jazz Jackrabbit (1994)
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (1994+4)
Jazz Jackrabbit Advance ((1994+4)+4)

Thus, there will be a Jazz game released next year.

EDIT: Well, to give this reply a little more content... me and my sisters have also been born in intervals of 4 years, and I have yet to wait for the 4 that should've come after me according to this logic.

On a more positive note, though, nice thinking.

If that were so, then wouldn't we have heard something about it being in development by now?

Yes, but all of the ones I didn't mention were expansion packs and such. ;p A completely NEW game with a NEW engine was released every four years.

Ok...

He does have a point, you found just an arithmatic series, nothing more than that. That's no guarantee for a new game

Math can be useful. But I don't think Epic really wants to do anything about it. Besides, wouldn't it be something like, "Jazz Jazckrabbit Advanced 2"?

Though I don't believe in this kind of numerologist theories, it could actually be true. CliffyB has mentioned a few times that there were very early plans for a JJ title on a console, and in 2006 the new next-gen consoles will come out (alright, theXbox 360 comes out in late 2005). So who knows? Maybe they'll surprise us once again.

but probably not

Baggers has said that it will come out this September, and I think the only thing holding back completely is the graphics department.

Yes, it will be just like mario games.
Or.. erm, those movies that always get remakes about every 20 years.

What Faw said.

To give this post a little more content, I'll post another useless sentence! (YAY! Be happy everyone!)

I like the thought, but I doubt it, because... Because.

This is a simple mathmatical thing. So, maybe we could close this topic?

So should someone spontaneously release a game like 1.25 in 2006 or what?

:0 OMG OMG...

no.

I refuse to get caught up in the hype until CliffyB comes to these forums and confirms this. It's just an Internet rumor, and we all know those are the worst kind. Actually I've found that Internet rumors are usually the most likely to be true. But any rumor is the worst type of rumor, so let's wait for something real to happen. Like a screenshot!

Plus, the thread is from February 20. Three and a half months ago.

A 3D screenshot would be really tough to mock up... We're talking about XBoX 360 here. A screenshot will be enough to make me believe.

You're forgeting the fact all of the Xbox 360 games we have seen just look like really good looking Xbox games for the most part. But still, it would be difficult but not as difficult.
