I had to make little battle graphics for the Win3.1 thread, so I thought I'd showcase them here.

Uberbob: The hero, leader, and ignorant fool.
L33tz4n: Former Snufuss minion, local summoner, master hacker.
Fawriel: Master healer and mindless thug.
Araches: The ultimate pessimistic sorcereress.
Foo (Acid's): The kid that ate Uberbob's bed.
Shuriken (4I's): The character that accidently misbalances combat.
Jay: Sterotype ectomorph, nuff said.

Yay, I feel like a superior spriter.

I like those sprites. Araches, Foo, and Suri were exceptionally well done.

Waitasec, isnt Uberbob suppost to have a wood hand and leg?

You misspelled sterotype.

Well, one of the reasons he went to Newsuperultraubermegatropolis was to get a new hand and leg. I figure that if I stick with this battle system (it'll need some revising, maybe a program to do calculations) I don't want to waste five minutes drawing another Uberbob that'll only be used once or twice.

(Yes, all the PSO stuff was destroyed, but that doesn't mean that my chip had one copy. Comeon, a piece of software with one copy of it? Even JJ3 has more copies of it. Let's say that the "shell" falls into the wrong hands. ^_^)

Anyways, they look good. Have you ever thought of making two images of them, 1 facing left and 1 facing right? I mean, you could put in where we fight our clones.

And that's a problem? Most people have DSL or don't care about image counts.

Considering Windows 3.1 runs under Dos, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing =P.

All the good games were on DOS back then. Its a compliment . And windows... remember trying to get DOS games to run in windows 3.1? lol. I didn't have many win games, except for like... mine sweeper... and uhm.. ski free.

If you ask me, all the best games are STILL on DOS.

Agreed.

Guess what kids! Mr. RADIUM is back! And he brought a whole new set of redone sprites.. only they aren't really sprites anymore, but VECTOR GRAPHICS waiting to be poorly scaled down! I added/removed/changed some things here in there, especially with the clothing, but I promise I'll tie it into the plot.

Here you can see the evolution of the moderately-bionic, mostly insane hero, Uberbob. Pretty much everyone that's seen this agrees that the latest sprite represents him better than the earlier ones.


And, of course, L33tz4n the serpent-like summoner/hacker. This was actually the first sprite I drew in the new style; you can see that the style has changed a lot since then.


The local healer, Fawriel. I like the new clothing. Faw didn't like the spear. But he lost.

Shuriken. Again, this one differs from the rest slightly because I drew it earlier. People that complained last time that she was facing to the right will be happy to know she's facing left this time, and enjoying it.


The local fireball-slinger, Araches. Now with a red mage hat with a disturbingly long feather! And gloves! And a loin cloth! And a dramatic pose!


And, lastly, we can't forget everyone's favorite summon - the water elemental! Indeed, he's undergone many changes, but is now stronger with his new styrofoam armor.


So, comments, flames, etc?

Also, now their dead bodies can litter the battlefield!

They are so awesome. I feel special, seeing them before everyone else.

If you redid Araches, that means that she will be back in the game =D.

I like the new Water Elemental. Doesn't look like HoMM IV's anymore. ;p
