This is my new MegaMan set :
) It has: A Megaman set with 3 landscapes, a example level. And no megaman music because my convertion didn’t work :)
This tileset takes about one hundred tiles, altogether. A pretty small tileset, yes, but the author was able to use it very well, so the example level did have average eyecandy…
However, the less tiles there are, the more animating tiles you’d have; But why would anyone want to do that? With no room for destructable scenery or similar ideas, consider this a great rip, though… The example level tells you about the different sceneries you can use…
Example Level: 0.5/1.0
Tile/tile compatibility: 1.0/1.0
Event intergration: 0.2/1.0
Overall compatibility: 1.0/1.0
How could this tileset be improved?
You might not make too many animated tiles with this tileset, which means you can add more tiles to this tileset. Destructable scenery that would look different from a wall would be handy… Also, tiles that would fit well to make animated tiles or trigger events would give this level more life. Good job, Newspaz. I believe people can look at this tileset and see what they could, and should make out of a tileset…
A very nice tileset and a very good example level.
I’m not going to give this a higher rating because the graphics were copied from a game but I think the tileset is good anyway.
Who is "MegaMan" again? Well whatever, this is a quite good, very colorful and good-looking tileset. And the example level shows what a skilled author could create using the set.
Well done, Newspaz. I dont have much to add to Derbys detailed review. Every tileset collector should download "MegaMan".
Pretty good tileset,
if used right there’s enough change in scenery.
Whoa, when I first looked at this set, I thought it’d be way too small for anything meaningful.
Then I fired up the example level.
This set may look small, but there’s plenty of scenery to make a nice level. Or two or three nice levels, none of which have to look the same.
I highly recomend this.
oK i now took alook at the example level it rocks!!!!The set is a bit small though. Also maybe you should make a mega man x tileset where it has some anims of him charging his buster.I think i may have rated this a bit high. But remember I love mega man stuff(Of course i already said “I am a mega man finatic”)[This review has been edited by Zieg]
Derby it is very obvios you do not play mega man. There is a wall!!!!!!Play mega man X for SNES and look at the walls,The walls are in the set!!
And a Very nice Example Level but i dont rate The Example only The tileset
Huh… I love Rockman(Mega Man) and all(and I mean that to the point of FANBOYism… o.o)…but…the graphics seem WAY out of place within the Jazz 2 scenario… I think a Rockman X ot Rockman 7/Rockman & Forte tile set would work alot better than a Rockman NES set. I might even go as far as to suggest using a Rockman Megaworld(Wily Wars) set. o.o;
Nice job for effort.
Nice job pulling off the idea.
Thought of Jazz running around in Tokyo a’la Rockman is odd to begin with, though. XD
Very good tileset, IMO. That’s all i have to say.
Mega Man has always been a game series that has interested but never grabbed me. This tileset does a pretty good job of expressing the game and is one of the better game-based conversions I’ve seen of late. Worth a download even if you aren’t necessarily Mega Man fan numero uno.
Eat your lima beans, Johnny.
