OK, this is an update version of my first tileset, Desperate Cry. Don’t worry I wont do this again, making another version of a tileset. But I think there was such a huge thing left out in the tileset that I couldnt resist making a new version.
I hope someone makes a level with now ;)
So, whats new?
Now there are diagonal tiles, the background works in 8-bit (thnx to Disguise, lol), there is a hook, there is an exit sign, there is an extra red ‘beast’, the poles are unmasked and some other stuff. Also, the tiles are placed a bit better, for more lvl-making comfort :)
I promise I’ll never make a 2nd version of a tileset =)
Enjoy, have fun, review & rate!
Good like; nice and big…
I always liked the first version, Desperate Cry is a nice noogy looking tileset.
It has Spikes, vines, and whuteva you need more.
It minds me of Zerg from star craft, all choose big moving beast looking things, eyes poping up, I love it.
The tilesets quality reaches almost agama, but it dosent give the completely Jazz style like Agama’s tileset does, and it arent neat detailed as Agama’s.
If you would like to make a Zerg style level, you should download this NOW.
Download recommed. :P
@Blazey: someone has played to much StarCraft, no? ;P
I LOVE this tileset, it’s one of my favourites.
This is just awesome.
Creepy stuff like moving eyes and those red thingies, blades and much more… mrrow… purrs
Yay to Sepultura inspiration :)
Maybe I underrated this now. xD[This review has been edited by Skulg]
This makes for a great Haloween tileset. An especially nice upload for this time of the year. While playing, I almost expected pumpkins for enemies. ;-P
Ouch, dont think Jazz’s review is quite fair… :/
Oh well, because this is a 2nd version, I wont give it a rating (comment only), but this is still a great tileset, and with the bugs fixed and extra tiles (YaY for diagonals!) you can’t go wrong in making levels with it.
Grrr, stupid thing, submitted the review before I was done, I’ll carry on now :P
Anyways, I wouldn’t quite associate this tileset with the Zerg from StarCraft (it’s one word blazey, get your blizzard terms right ;), but it is still pretty eerie, and has a very original theme. It rocks, get it :D
P.S. I’d like it more if you made other tilesets, fix the mistakes from the one set in the next set, thats what I do ;)[This review has been edited by Disguise]
EDIT: Jazz’s review is no more. :P
P.S. I like the grass, it rocks! dont think of changing it ;)[This review has been edited by Disguise]
Oke I promise you, you’ll get a level out of this Tileset from me :)
Very Great Tileset Everything you need for a Basic level And way More Great Job :P

Wowness!! I never thought I’d live to see Piccolo’s update of his tileset! (Alright, maybe I over exaggerated it a bit…) Desperate Cry (remake) is a undescribable good tileset. (It’s only undescribable cause I’ve used up all the goody goody words in my vocabulary ;-P) Ok, so you’ve all read my old review (you have?! fantastic!) and noticed that I put in some criticism. Most of the criticised parts of the tileset is gone in the update although the grass/mud is still there.
The tiles are beautifully (haha! I came up with a word!) textured but some tiles, e.g those red cliff things, could do with some better colouring.
The animations and eyecandy also hold a high standard. There are loads of stuff in this tileset like spikes, vines, mud, or is it grass? (Hard to tell cause I’m writing this review without my glasses on) And there are also those eyes that look up and down at you. Very cool, but also very disgusting.
Also, which is new, there are diagonal, or sloping, tiles in Desperate Cry. Nothing special, you say? Well, it is special because the old version of Desperate Cry didn’t have any sloping tiles at all (I took away 1.5 points for that…hehe…).
Also, the H and V poles are un-masked. Hooray! And there are new, more useful spikes! Hooray! And lastly, there is a hidden SEPULTURA 00WNS YOU!!! message. Hooray for Sepultura fans!
Unfortunately, there are also bad points.
THE GRASS IS SOOOOOOOO DISGUSTING!! The grass/mud looks like someone’s vomited over them. They’re drawn with one of those artificial light green colours and it looks really ugly. If you want to make dead grass, look at some real-life pictures.
Even though the H and V poles are un-masked, there are new spikes and diagonal tiles, the grass is still there. I really hate it. But, it’s only an opinion so I guess I won’t exactly be able to reduce points just because of that.
At last there are diagonal tiles. W0000pee! (D
Download NOW.
An well deserved 8.5 eats Piccolo
Cheers,
White Rabbit.
EDIT: I got the longest review![This review has been edited by White Rabbit]
This tileset rocks, it has the requirements needed (poles, destruct blocks, back+fore eyecandy etc.) and it looks so cool. The backround looks grey and dull, but it fits in with the tileset. There are some nice and interesting animations, and awesome looking spikes. There are a few bad points, but i cant really take much off because of that. Read WR’s review for more.
