Why is there three tilesets included in one level? That is poison to 56k users >(

Oh wait. Did you even try to use some eyecandy at all? My stupid levels have better eyecandy… and they are rated bad. There is no wall tiles used at all. Or wait, there is. And just so you would know.. the red base looks better than the blue base. But they both are so ugly I can even go to a toilet and look at the beautiful thing (compared to this level, that is).

You have ruined this level. With the warp on the red base. This level is completely unfair. Red has a warp to blue. There is no borders. You have to go through a mazey thing. There is a hurt at the bottom-centre. Hurt can kill the host, but not anyone else. Then there’s a hidden bonus with… something. I’ll describe that in the ammo placement section. But the gameplay sucks enough that I have to do a bigger review than I ever have made. So evil.

Now there’s a coin warp hidden. And it has a SHIELD in. Shields are suck in multiplayer. Don’t use them. And I get an access violation whatever I do. If I use 1.23, I get an access violation after the level has been on for a while. If I use 1.24 TSF, then I get an access violation after breaking a crate. USE BETATESTERS. BETA. TESTERS. They will see the errors. You didn’t test this in multiplayer did you? I have to continue the review as playing offline for now. It works in single player… This level has no powerups at all, but this level has just a little +1 carrot at the centre… with 5 second respawn delay. This is IMMUNE CTF or something like it?

Oh, how can it be so unoriginal to make suck. The levels section is filled with suck levels of suck sucking suck. And this level is the same. Not like this! Do better levels, they keep going rarer with this suck on the 20 last uploads list. Please… just do it.

What? Did someone say about fun? Fun of rehosting when someone breaks a crate and causes an access violation? No NO NO. This level is already impossible to play in, and the annoying jumps near the blue base is uncool and antifunlaugh.

OVERALL: 1.7. Practice and practice needed.

HOST?: That’s already impossible.
DOWNLOAD?: If offline CTF playing is fun or if you want to get bored.

Shields aren’t suck if used properly i.e. Flame Shield that you’re forced to buttstomp.

EDIT: I find some of these comments completly unneeded. Calling a level the worst CTF level in the world regardless of wether it was true or not, is very discouraging. Honestly, remarks like those are the things which make people never touch jcs again.[This review has been edited by Inf. Spaz]

Jungel(!) Flag Map
As you can see at the exclamation in the level title, I saw that the word Jungle is terribly spelled wrong here… Aw well, if that’s the only problem of the level, it would be allright. But, I saw this level first hosted in Winner’s server, and I have a terrible feeling about it… Hold on for a hard review!

EYECANDY: 0.5 out of 2.5
If I have to tell something good about the eyecandy, I would probably quit here. The only thing that’s good about the eyecandy (and probably about the whole level) is that is has a background. The rest of the eyecandy is simply said sucking. This level is equal to raping Agama’s lovely Swamp tileset, which is the best one around (see Marshland) But the eyecandy here is so bad… There are numerous tile errors, the floors of the level don’t match and there is so much more bad that I don’t want to even talk about it here… Please don’t pollute the server anymore which such bad eyecandy.

AMMO: 0.25 out of 2.5
Ammo? What ammo? Okay, there are some weird things in the level that can be called ammo (like the EB thing at the bases… where is that good for??) and there are two brown crates that contain 15 bouncies… As Winner said in his review, there is a shield used in this level. Everyone can say that shield are not wrong in MP, but I believe it is. How many times you got frustrated when you played in B1 or DW because the enemy used a shield? For myself, really a lot of times. Shields dimply suck, and the game creators shouldn’t have put them into the game. There are coins you can pick up, and they are all round a useless warp which warps you to a powerup place with horrible weapons. The placement is just bad, accept it.

LEVEL STRUCTURE: 0.25 out of 2.0
Yep. This structure is completely ruined, because you put up a warp at the red base which directly lead to the blue base where you van get the flag, but there is no warp at the blue base to the red base. This is bad, because red is terribly biased with this, and the complete structure is ruined. I can’t call this much of a level, because there even isn’t a border around the map so you will get a flag bug when you touch it. There are some nonsense events placed around the level, like sucking hurt events and other bad points. What is this?? Ruined.

GAMEPLAY: 0.25 out of 3.0
As you all can read in the other points described above I really hated to play this level… The gameplay is horrible too. There isn’t any flow in this level, there are too much bugs and you put all three Swamp sets in the download, but not even a good music file… After five seconds of playing this game, I knocked my head against the monitor wishing I could play another level, but no, I have to protect other players from downloading this. As you see, the gameplay sucks, also thanks to the biased structure of the level.

I can talk hours about everything that’s wrong in this level, but I guess that’s a little bit too much and the level is surely not worth it that I talk about it any further. The eyecandy is sucked, there are so much tile errors and problems that it’s damaging the eyes. Same goes for placement, this doesn’t make any sense and there’s isn’t hardly any ammo here. Structure is also terrible, no border around the level and there is some horrible biased warp above the red base… There is no music in the level and the gameplay makes you want to turn of the PC. Advice for the author: restart with you JCS skills, try to get a new start in level creator and carefully read your reviews, OR STOP CREATING. If you are a little bit better then go into a level group, maybe they can teach you how to create REAL levels. For now, you’re LUCKY, because I give this not the lowest score; just a 1.2. Bweurk. This level is the worst CTF level ever made, and it give a new dimension to sadness.

Score: 0.5+0.25+0.25+0.25 = 1.25 = 1.2

This certainly doesn’t look like a CTF level, or a JJ2 level for that matter. I’m going to try to list some of the things that were done wrong:

• This level has no name, no music, and no next level setting. These can be changed by clicking on Tools at the top left, then Level Properties.
• Putting a warp near one base that places players right next to the other is definitely not a good idea for a CTF level.
• There aren’t borders around the entire level to prevent the flag bug (I’m not going to get into that right now).
• An event, and in this case a warp event, was placed at the far right. Events don’t work on the last tile on the far right or the very bottom (not that events should be placed there if a border was used).
• The blue springs placed on all those platforms are unneeded. Even if they were red springs, it would be pointless to have it on every single one of those platforms.
• Hurt events were added. These shouldn’t be used in multiplayer levels, since they only affect the server.
• The events regenerate too fast. A speed of 20 would be a good start.
• A shield was added. It’s best not to use shields at this point of level making.
• The coins are placed in an odd formation. They could’ve been spread throughout the level instead.
• Fast feet, a 1up, and gems were included, which are completely useless for CTF.
• The wind events server no purpose. Those shouldn’t have been added in the first place.

I don’t really want to get into all of the CTF basics since this doesn’t even meet basic level making standards. To make things worse, a gun crate crashed my server. I’m not going to explain exactly why this happened, so get someone who knows what they are doing in JCS to point out other things I may have missed. But I am surprised this has team based start positions.


The eye candy isn’t any good at all, and yet I have seen worse. I wasn’t expecting to see that the background tiles are tiled, several layers are resized, and the animations actually work. Of course a lot of other tiles were used improperly, so I would advise either looking at some good levels that use this set, or choose an easier tileset to use such as Castle.


Well, there isn’t much to point out. There aren’t any powerups, and the ammo was randomly placed. There is a carrot crate, which doesn’t regenerate, but it would give fake health to anyone except the server anyway. A simple full energy carrot at the center of the level would be a good start.


To put it bluntly, not a chance. My advice would be to start with battle levels instead of CTF levels. This is a 2. I could rate lower, but I’m not. On a side note, only “SwampsN.j2t” should have been included in the zip.

Time to review the worst CTF level ever. (Not sarcastic)
Introdction to Jungel flag map: This is a level created by someone called Ice Skull, and the level is made with the great tileset Swamps by Agama, but I don’t think Agama would like it when she sees a level like this.
Gameplay: this level isn’t too big, has alot of unnecessary platforms and other things. The level is very buggy, and there are almost no springs in this level. What is a level with almost no springs? Actually, there are quite many springs, but the placement of them is…. very bad. I won’t discuss about it, it’s too horrible. This level’s layout is very bad, because it’s too small and open. The level has too many platforms, and I should say, never place platforms randomly. You should look at good levels to see how you need to make a CTF level. Anyway, back to gameplay, this level has hurt. Why? Hurt in a CTF level is one of the most stupid things you can do. Y’all know that hurt ruins a level(if not SP). This level has big dead ends at the left side. I should say: never make dead ends! Why is there a warp at the left side that leads you to the right base and not vice-versa? This is an original idea, but using coins to get there that fast is better. I don’t see a reason to put a coin warp in this level. I don’t even like coin warps in levels, but if there is stuff in it that is fair, it’s okay.
Conclusion gameplay and what should be improved: The gameplay is very bad, I don’t want to list every bad thing about it. Tips for improving: look to better CTF levels next time. Don’t place platforms randomly. Don’t put a warp at the left side and no at the right side. Probably some more. Read the other things.
Eye candy/tileset use/layer use: I am going to list the good things first. There are animations. Layer 4 is used. There is something in layer 4. There is a background in layer 8. The level’s eye candy is the best aspect of the level. This should be all good. Now the bad things: tileset is used horribly. There are only 2 layers used. There are lots of eye candy bugs.
Conclusion eye candy/tileset use/layer use and what should be improved: the eye candy is very bad, but at least there is a background and something in layer 4. The tileset is used horribly. The layers are used badly. Tips for improving: look more at the tileset next time. Try to use more layers(I would pick another tileset to do that since I am bad in this tileset).
Pickup placement: the pickup placement is very bad. This level has alot of things that don’t belong in CTF levels. Like that 1-up, hurt, gems, one gem stomp and crates with ice. There are things that must be in a CTF level. Ammo(only one gun 9 × 3 , one toaster × 3 here and two crates), power-ups and full energy(!) Like I said, coins are okay in a CTF level, but the stuff in the bonus is very bad. The coins placement is very, very bad. The coins are placed next to each other, but if it was spread, it would be much better. There is one carrot in a crate and I forgot to say that there are two crates with some ammo.
Conclusion pickup placement and what should be improved: the pickup placement is very bad. There are alot of unnecessary things and almost no ammo and no power-ups and no full energy. Tips for improving: put more ammo in your levels, power-ups and at least one full energy. Don’t make a bonus, or if you are going to make one, put fair stuff in it.
Originality: This level is absolutely not original. The level has no music, name, next level, or original ideas. The way the tileset is used is very bad and not original. I can’t say alot about originality so this is everything.
Conclusion originality and what should be improved: this level has no original ideas, music or original tileset use. Tips for improving: put music in your levels, make up a name and put a next level(for example, let it loop to itself)
Others: host this: No! If you do it I’ll ban you from my server(only host it if you are hosting a server like one with the worst levels ever) to be fun.
Download recommendation: for stupid people that like very bad levels. No download recommendation: for all other people who know how bad this level is by looking at the rating.
My final rating is an 1.5. I know you can do much better (after reading this review)

i dont see why you should write loads for such a crap lvl, why are there shields, lives, bugs ( very easy to spot too)!!!
