Description
J2B to IT converter with converted boss1 (fight with Devan) tune! :)
It converts jazz2 music file to impulse tracker module.
It’s second release and doesn’t support Delta-2:1 samples (from xm format) and 16 bit or unsigned samples can sound strange, but main features: order of song, initial values, sound loops and patterns works good, I tested on most of the jazz2 tunes ad my own :)
Other features will be added soon, as I’ll decode more from Epic sample format ;)

UPDATE (2nd rel.): Samples are now good quality without d..ned clicks.
UPDATE (3rd rel.): Now supported 16 bit samples and sample global volume, looping and sample flags worx.
UPDATE v0.2 build 080206: Supported xm samples, initial vibrato events and set pan, pattern effect 8xx bugfixed.
UPDATE v0.3 build 100206: There was a bug in pattern ordering (i.e. in Labrat not all patterns were converted) now fixed and works perfectly :)

I used this one to get the bonus2 tune, and that worked perfectly. it got my attention on a file I never saw before though: maz_phobia_edit.j2b. it had very strange speed changes, but that may just be because of the conversion. the music seems out of place, but it’s j2b so I assume it used to be ingame. anyone know more about that?

Yeah, this program is nice, yeah, this program is unuseful. And… Dr Eggman has already released source code for decoding J2Bs.

Very good program but 3rd release had some bugs.
It cant convert medivo .j2b to .it.But sound is good
so 8.5 from me

Wee, it works!
Release 2 had some bugs, but got fixed in release 3. Daddy, look! I can convert Xmas6.j2b now.

hmm try converting Carrottus music. It completely messes up. I tried to play all of the conversions but most of them skipped patterns. I’m waiting for v0.4! No rating from me cuz it doesnt really work correctly, but it is too hard to rate this bad…

The following mixes do not completely work:
Ending
Colonius
Carrotus
Fastrack
Medivo
But the rest work and this is actually quite usefull for ripping samples, screwing uo songs and looking at other peoples work (Songs that are not origional JJ2 songs).
Now I need to find a way to convert my songs into j2b files. (Some of mine are about 8,000 KB and use over 90 samples)

Eggman, could you make a converter that takes XM, or IT files into J2B files. That way we can use them in costum levels?

Is there a converter that can convert any music file into J2B files?
mod2j2b doesn’t work with MP3 files.

Nice, but what program should I use? WinAmp only works with a few, and the rest sound awful, even the ones that are supposed to work!!!
What program would you recommend?

The problem with Winamp is that it sometimes can’t “read” all the samples of the converted files (that’s why they sometimes sound awful), but there should be no problem with MPT or Jazz2.

Uh oh…! It converts sucessfully the music, but we can hear a strange sound when listening to 1Valntin.it (converted from 1Valntin.j2b)! That strange beeping sound goes with the music rythim, so this is may a pattern error! Please try to convert yourself this file, and listen it! (Jazz Unleashed Demo in J2O have this music file)
It’s like the original music, but this beeping is “destroys the music’s enjoyable part”!
Very very useful program for people who make levels.
P.S:I listened it in winamp.

Winamp can’t play it correctly, but MPT and WMPlayer play it normally!
Thx! Before I download it, I always record jazz2 songs in cooledit :D
Colony and Carrotus don’t play correctly.

Excellent program, I’ve been looking for a way to get the last few tracks into a format that I can convert to mp3, thanks a ton for making this!
It was incredibly easy to use and incredibly useful for my specific needs!
Anyone who wants a good program to listen to these in, I understand that .IT, .XM and .S3M aren’t regular sound files, you can use WinAMP to listen to these files alone, but there are programs that were made to create and play these, ModPlug Tracker, Scream Tracker and Impulse Tracker.
These programs can also export to formats playable in regular Music Players, such as iTunes.
I recommend finding ModPlug Tracker, and opening the converted files in there, you can then export it to a .WAV file (you can also .MP3, but that is very low quality, wav is recommended) and then use another program, such as Audacity, to convert the WAV to an MP3 :).
(I know this is an old release, but looking at how recent the comments date, who knows, somebody might find this somewhat helpful in the near future)
