Description

This is only my second submission ever, and a rushed one since I’m leaving. So I’ll make this open-source to complement my file format tutorial http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=15059 . If you want to compile it in C++, you’ll need to get the libpng and zlib libraries.

I tried to keep the usage as simple as possible. It is a console program, but you can drag and drop files in windows explorer. I should probably mention that the console window stays open after its finished only if there’s an error; then you can press any key or just close it. That’s all folks, see you in a long time.

Really useful. You can grab tiles from a tileset, and you can mix tilesets. Just drag a tileset file on the exe or on a shortcut , and automaticaly a tileset image and a mask image are saved under a .png file. Download recomendation – yes Rating – 9.7

This program needs a full review.

What this is
This is one of the most useful programs I have ever downloaded. This is basically a fool proof way to take a tileset, and extract the tiles and the masking as well as keep all the pallet entries. i have used it countless of times.

Look
Won’t rate because it’s a dos exe.

Ease of use
You drag the tileset onto the exe, let it run, you have your image. couldn’t be simpler!
10/10

Uses
This has many uses:
1: Extract a tileset so you don’t need to load it into Jazz to look at it.
2: Copy a pallet from another tileset. (with the help of pallet suite)
3: Extract a mask
4: Grab some tiles from a tileset
5: Look at the masking more easily
6: Edit a tileset and then re-build it. (With the help of JCS)

There’s more uses but that’s all I can think of. As you can see it has a lot of potential.
10/10

Bugs
They’re almost non existent. The only thing I can think of is that pallet entry 1-2 are swapped, but that hardly makes a difference.
10/10

Final Score: 30/30
Score: 10
Rank: S
DR? YES! This has so many uses. It deserves a big fat 10 and I look forward to more of the authors programs.

Same problem.. I press enter then and it closes, just tell me what I do wrong here;) Anyway, as soon as this works for me I’ll rate it;)

EDIT: this does work if you drag the tilesets on the program’s icon =D good job, but I still wont rate it

Thanks for giving me a copy of this before the release Neo.
I’ve edited more tilesets than the average JJ2 player =D

But seriously, if you ever played in a tileset and said “This would be excellent for my fangame” or “This would awesome in a different shade of color” or“Need this for 1.23!”
Then this prog is for you.

This works great, but not flawlessly. The error message for ‘Error reading file’ is missing, which can cause the the program to crash/display incorrect error messages.

It looks good utility, but I don’t have time to download and use! XD

I review it later.

P.S.: I will use it for flip a whole tileset! – Making a level, flit the whole tileset, and run backwards on the level! :D

P.S.2: But I hope it works for me! With no errors! :D

P.S.3: Argghh! I can’t make a quick review without a rating! :(

Wow, it’s really easy to make it work!

Only thing you have to do is read the readme (if you don’t know how to work), drag tileset to program and the tileset’s done in only a few seconds. Nice work!

The program extracts pictures as .PNG files. When I try to edit them with Paint and save them as bitmap files that JCS supports and when I build the tileset, the tile background looks different than normal purple used and the mask gets completely opposite. Help!
