This tileset is in ancient Egypt. You can build an egyptian palace, cellars or a town with houses. It has tons of eyecandy (wallpaintings, vases on floor, statues, etc.)
Sorry for the file size but the music is GREAT. Enjoy!
Egypt is the 3rd tileset masterpiece by finish jazzer Agama. The whole thing resembles the ancient egypt, probably in the time of the new empire(or whatever:P). It has some neat things to create a basic egyptian villege, like buildings, a neat’o drawn brick ground. The buildings can be ‘decorated’ with things like plants hanging on the wall in small pots, old fashioned oil lamps, witch also have a lighted version in the night tileset, carpets before doors, windows where you can stand on the balconys and so on. The sky doesnt come as a textured background, but when i look at the layer 8 stuff Agama made for us instead, i totaly realize that a textured background is’nt necesary at all. The layer 8 stuff consists of a sky that already looks textured in the day version, and a beatutifull night sky filled with stars in the night version. It also has a perfectly drawn river(the Nile, no doubt) with the 3 pyramids in the distance, and palm trees at the sides. To decorate the plain bric ground, there are perfctly chaded brick tiles. There are also palm trees to stand on, big decorated pillars, and a incredile gaint statue of spaz, dressed up as a pharao. The poles where, very origenaly, made like those scepters you see pharaos holding on pictures. There are also tiles to create a ancient Egyptian temple, wich are maybe even more gorgeus looking then the ones i have been describing above. The ground here, constists of beautifully drawn brown bricks. There is all sorts of stuff to decorate walls, like the well known Egyptian heiroglyphics, perfectly drawn wall paintings of a rabbit in a charriot, rabbits with pharao-like hats, a few rabbits in a old-fashioned Egyptian canoe, and storks flying above a small pond. There are plants in small vases, and a statue of a black dog. To sum it up, this is one of the greatest tileset ever. Agama, alow me to worship the space you ocupy. And as for you guys, get this now.[This review has been edited by >CelL<]

I DIDNT REVIEW THIS YET! ARGH
GRAPHICAL QUALITY: 2,0/2,0
WOOP! The graphics are really the best. In my opinion, even better than the original JJ2 graphics. The graphics are very cartoony and super smooth. I’m still wondering how you got this in 256 colors.
The tileset has everything to make platforms. There are two “sections” in the set, one for the egyptian palace stuff and one for the egyptian town stuff. Both have VERY much eyecandy, lika statues of jazz as an pharao, turtles getting stone etc. Very great. The set has also enough stuff for blocks, poles, and even doors. Greatness.
Because there’s so much eyecandy stuff, you can make very varied levels with this set. The set has enough colors, like the sky, the colors of the jazz-wallpaintings, the grey platforms, the yellow-like walls, and much more. Well done!
USER FRIENDLY: 1,5/2,0
It’s hard to find the right tiles sometimes, but when you found them it’s easy to use them. The yecandy si at the top, the platforms at another edge, so you know where to find the tiles to make a kind of platform or palace.
For every kind of structure you want to make there’s a tile. Greatness.
Just great. Can’t say more, just great.
Great, one of the best sets ever for JJ2. You just think your really in egypt. Masterpiece.
Who is Agama? The tileset god? Agama has produced yet another tileset of outstanding quality for us to use, and in my opinion this is the best one yet. It has a day and night version, and also has a pallete modification that makes jazz’s and spaz’s colours slightly different, but not bad. The tileset is set in ancient egypt of course, and you can do pretty much anything you want with it. It has plenty of animations, all of the important things like spikes and vines, plus it has a GREAT backround. The eyecandy is superb too. I especially love the giant spaz statue. This tileset is probably best suited for making single player levels, but don’t let that make you think you can’t make a battle or ctf level with it. The masking in this tilest is nice and tidy, and it has no errors I can see. The thing that kept this from getting a perfect score was a lackage of sand to use in layer 4. It would have been so cool to make a paramyd in the middle of a desert, don’t you think?

Wow…never before in the history of rabbit kind has such a fantastic tileset been created…
The tileset is just…just…aww, I hate when these stupid words fail me. ;-)
Well, I’m going to begin with Egypt day first, the tileset is really graphical with tons and tons of eyecandy packed together with lots and lots of platforms, poles, statues, wall paintings, palm trees, houses, toned shadows, fantastic backgrounds and more. Some tiles are great to look and it looks like they’re almost real! The whole tileset gives you an magical feeling and no matter what kind of lvl that uses this tileset, it will always look good even if you deliberately has tried to not make it look good.
The second tileset is named Egypt night and is just as good, the only difference between the two tilesets is that it’s a night tileset and everything is dark, there isn’t really much to say about the night version cause it’s almost the same as the day one except for that the tiles are darker. With the right tiles, you can make night lvls that are quite mysterious or perhaps even scary! :-)
Well, by now I think ya all got my point which is:
Download IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!![This review has been edited by White Rabbit]
This tileset is the best! 10x better than anything I can do! Its a bit difficult to use at times. I like the heaven tileset better, but this one is one of the best tilesets on j2o
The backround is one of the best non warp backrounds ive ever seen. The eyecandy and tiles rock, you can make many different locations here including a tomb, a crypt, a town and a desert. Although it is probably one of the hardest tilesets to use on j20, it can comeout really sweet when a good level is made with this. There are some cool tiles, like the rabbit statues and the pictures on the walls, but alas, it has to much tiles and animations, that it almost exceeds the limit therefore making you cut back on the amount of animations yoou can use. Some tiles are missing, but this definately looks just liek egypt. There are two versions, nigt and day, each unique in its own way. Just like all the other agama tilesets, its probably in my top ten of tilesets, but i just dont like it as much as swamps of the sleeping jaguar or heaven.[This review has been edited by Blackraptor]
The master of tilesets has once again made an awesome tileset.
You can really see the effort that went into this. The tileset is incredibly detailed, and has many uses and different locations.
The thing that does it for me is the background. It’s very neat.
Also, I think the walls with the light effects are a good idea.
wow Great tileset
very cool background
did u make that yourself
this is the best tileset (which aint of the game itself) I’ve ever seen.
are u shure u are not an alien =P
Don’t we all love Agama, because of his sets? :)
Agama surpassed himself this time with this set. Lemme start with the basics… The set has very nice Egyptian things, like wall painting, vases, pillars, pyramids in the background, you name it. But what the sets make so special (there are two versions, day and night) are a number of things. I’ll start with the use of colors. It’s superb! Even with Ambient Lighting off, you sometimes get the idea it’s on. Some tiles are very dark, and be used instead of Ambient Lighting (i happen to play with Lighting off). The edited palette colors are also worth mentioning. The palette colors have nice tones, which fit excellent with the themes.
Conclusion: you have to see this set to believe it!

Hehe youre my favourite tileset maker withouth a boudt..hope my spelling isnt too bad :-( well however, I dont know how u do this every time but its really beautifull. The lvls look really great with this set. yawn hard to figure out any bad things…yes mabye one, i’ve seen this kinda sets several times. Overall…GREAT.
YeAh…..I love you too, agama. This is one of the best tilesets I ever seen.
~JøJø aka ÍpÐøpé
This is the best tileset I’ve ever seen, better than Epic’s! Also, it includes 2 cool example levels! What can be better! This is all you need to know to have to click the Download Now! button!
UPDATE! After a little more investigation, I have desided to lower this a little bit, it’s just a little too high.

Words are not enough to describe what has been uploaded here.
The tilesets are great, the levels are great, the music is great…
The only drawback is the way jcs handles tilesets, it causes the tileset here to be a bit hard to use, as the tiles cannot be placed next to each other quite as they should be.
Agama, if you are reading this, then you should consider a feature in artwork/design, you have the talent to make it.
There is only one righteous rating for this….
I really like the backrounds.
it has a great background and the 2 levels were carefully done great level and tileset Agama
“Egypt” is another completely breathtaking tileset production from Prague. It comes in two versions (Night and Day) and both of them contain about 1000(one thousand!!!) incredibly beautiful, supposedly self-drawn tiles showing scenes from the oriental life! Reminds me, as a passionate platform freak, of Prince of Persia or Aladdin.
The set includes all kinds of useful tiles like vines, poles, keys, spikes, destruction scenery tiles, animations and so on and so on. It has lots of different structures for both, foreground and background layers…it’s too much to list here, really. Apart from that, the masking is very good, too.
The author also jampacked the ZiP file with two very cool Treasure Hunt levels that give a great impression of whats possible with this tileset. Level design (weapon placement etc.) and eyecandy are just brilliant. Really.
Agama also included two awesome music files in the pack: “Midnight in Arabia” by Mystical/Purple from Denmark (which was a multichannel compo entry at The Party 6 back in 1996) and ZARATHUSTRA by DRAX of MANIACS of NOISE. Very oldskool!!! Just my style! And the theme of both tracks fits perfectly for Agama’s levels and the whole tileset.
Well, i don’t have much to add here…if you ever had any interest in Jazz Jackrabbit 2, the computer game, you simply HAVE TO DOWNLOAD the “Egypt” tileset by Agama. Wow! Just WOW! It looks so darn cool!!!
Wow. This is Cliffy or Noogy quality at least.
Have you ever considered being an a computer artist or animator?
This is so amazing…
Not only do you manage to turn each of your sets into a true work of art, you do it at lightspeed as well. What is it? A new tileset every month, maybe?
As for this particular set…
this IS ancient egypt jazz-style (I love all the bunny murals and statues). I was planning to make an egypt set myself. I’m not so sure anymore…:D
The village is also very cool.
If I would have to think of one thing that could have been better (but this is really nitpicking) you could have made some more of the egyptian gods (not just Anubis lying down and the cat-god statue).
a well deserved 9.5. :)
The master Agama’s another tileset is soooo cool (is it a surprise?) that I almost falled from my chair. The tileset has once again lots of very usable stuff and eye candy. Agama really knows the tricks of the drawing programs. The only two things to complain. 1: The hardness of using. But the two great treasure hunt levels show the tricks quite nicely. 2: The night version is good but little bit too dark. Agama has found almost two nice music tracks. They fit in the levels just fine. Make more levels with your tilesets, Agama!
Agama, you could easily get a job as an artist in epic or anywhere!
Hmm… Lesse, great sets, great example levels, great music — I sense a pattern :)
I give it 9.7 ‘cause I can’t do everything I want to with it, but then, I’ve never encountered a set that can. This is prolly one of the closest though :D
No mate, this Agama-quality and it sure rocks![This review has been edited by $TÛNT$]
This is a very good tileset, one of the best. Some of the tiles look so realistic, it’s not funny!
Nice background, but it’s almost impossible for me to use! I want an 8×8 sky texture.
sweeeeet!!! agama is like the tileset god. i would have rated the heaven tileset but the page is screwed up… oh well…10 points! if you havent already got it, download it now![This review has been edited by Wild Bill]
Does Agama ever make bad tilesets? I can safely say the answer is no. “Egypt” is yet another amazing tileset by Agama. Everything is drawn to perfection, the masking is great, and everything looks near-perfect. What more can you say? I have no complaints. It may not be as good as Heaven or Swamps of the Sleeping Jaguar, but that’s like complaining because you got a BMW instead of an Aston Martin. Download recommendation? Of course.[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
WOW! Its just like yer really in Egypt :-)… And the animations are also VERY good!!
Well done AGAMA….! [This review has been edited by BurningBULL]
Wow this is great!
The others have all said everything about it so this is it.
I’m givin’ this a scratches his butt 9.5
Agama has yet again created an outstanding tileset. Magnificent job!
This is not GODLIKE tileset. This is BEST tileset. No, one from four best. Egypt is 200%, not 100.0%. WOW.
Perfect work, Agama

Oh, and now I at last see that I havent rated this tileset yet so let’s begin.
Yes there’s just enough them, I have nothing else to say for this section.
Well seems to be good too, this will be a good link to the Realization section.
Well, I saw few problems with this. Paths and walls are okay but houses.
ANIM TILES, SPIKES, ETC.
Should be a little more. It seems that there is not much extra or them.
Yes! This is perfect. I feel that i’m in the egypt by this kind of tileset.
+ OR – EXTRA POINTS
3+ Good Example levels
1- Hard to use
OVERALL 9.8 = 9.7
TILESET RANK: Very good tileset

(Unsupported rating (10) removal. Please actually take the time to write a few sentences to explain your rating. Notice that even “Unsupported rating removal” was longer than your entire review. ~Violet)
Yes, it’s Agama’s tileset and yes, it is great. Although I don’t quite like some elements like black holes among bricks, and the river in the background is takin’ player attention (at least my attention) but it’s still a masterpiece. Look at those pictures on the walls, one word – genius. Hard to compare it to other Agama’s works, it’s quite similar in style, just different scenery. One thing is certain these tilesets are real jewels in j2o downloads and it would be a crime if I’d rate it lower than 10.
P.S. Filesize is quite big, but trust me – it’s worth waiting!
im new on jazz 2 takes a lot to impress me
number of tiles 6.0
once again agama a good leval very detailed your levals are one of the best i have seen keep it up
[Unsupported rating (7.2) clearance. ~Cooba]
Incredible Coowl! thats everything i can say.
Keep up the good Work!
(Incredible cow? Unsupported rating (10) removal. ~Violet)
Ratboy, are you rating the level?
Beautiful. It looks good, jazz-2-ish, and has alot of eyecandy. IMO, the background is better than a textured one. Nothing wrong here. Textures are near perfect (256 colors??!?) and the hieroglyphs look real. The light and dark tile parts allow for sunray-style looks which look really good. Both the inside and outside tiles are great.
TILES INCLUDED: 9.5/10
Though it lacks some tiles, like sucker tubes, the tiles it has make up for it. There is enough eyecandy to make anyone happy, there are retracting spikes, hooks (or something similar), fire (for those who like lightning), layer 4 background..
USER FRIENDLY: 7/10
This is where this tileset fails. It is, IMO,extremely hard to use. Of course, it is possible, but you have to search for nearly every tile. The layer 8 background is also hard to create. Fortunately, this doesn’t pull down the rating much since it is near impossible to create a good and user friendly tileset.
OVERALL RATING (not an average): 9.7/10
As you may guess, the graphics add alot. This is, simply, one of the most beautiful tilesets ever made. Download reccommendation; even if you will only play the example levels, it is worth it.
yea, is one of the bests.
And the music is cooooooool.
I put one 9.5 in total:
-Eyecandy:10/10 It’s perfect, looks like the real egypt
-Draw:10/10 perfect drawssss
-Animating tiles: 7/10 Can you put more?
-Download recomendation: yes, is one oof the bests tilesets
Yes, another beauty!! Agama, we love you!! WOOHOO!! ;D

THE BEST TILESET I LUV IT WELLDONE.

Every now and then you get someone who just makes tileset-making look easy.
Despite not liking the ankhs, the tileset makes a desert city look a lot less boring than it does in real life. A difficult environment to make a masterpiece from, and Agama has done extremely well. I give this a 7.4.
Diversity of Tiles:
There’s certainly a lot that can be done with houses. Holiday Feaw and Town House have proven that, and so does this one. I’ve played Mirror’s Edge, and I can just see this tileset serving a good use there. Excellent work, Agama, this one gets a 7.9
This one is another merciless blow to the head when it comes to layers. The tilesets that can make the main body of the level with fewer parallel layers are the ones that shine, which this one does. Agama has once again proven her superlative skills. I give this a 7.7
I’m not a fan of desert cities, but nevertheless, that doesn’t impair the rating of this tileset at all. Purely because of this tileset, I can bring myself to make a level in an environment I usually never use. Well done, this gets a 7.1
Art Style – 7.4
Diversity of Tiles – 7.9
Layer Management – 7.7
Environment – 7.1
Total —> 7.525
Final Rating: 7.7
