This is my entry for Treya’s Duel-Sized Battle Map Making Contest.
This is a battle level using RaneforusV tileset. There are three pu’s in here, Toaster, (bottom left) Bouncer, (bottom middle) and RF (upper right); two carrots (both between one side and the middle). I also misread bbswing for bblair, so this level is a bit bigger than suggested, but I think it’s still okay for duels.
1.Cut off 35 width (moving the warp, RF pu, carrot and PAST sign; deleting the green sping and replacing it with a red on the other side).
2.Raised the bouncer hole 5 tiles.
3.Deleted the space under the toaster pu (moved toaster ammo).
4.Changed ammo, pu, and carrot respawn time.
5.Added more layer 3 leaves.
6.Changed layers 6 and 7.
7.Changed SP entry.
One complaint I have is the background is seriously messed up.
Why would any distant, static object ever move faster than something closer? Not only does this break the laws of perspective, it looks ridiculous enough that it is distracting.
Well, I know I should have payed more attention to the background. But the deadline was coming up, and I was concentrating more on the sprite layers. I should have picked a tileset that is easier to use for the time given.
