My entry to the JJNet Season 13 CTF contest.
My last level, The Price of Admission, was secretly an attempt to get into the ladder map pool (as per the level name), but despite being quite well liked it slipped between the cracks. Therefore I set out to make a “remake” of it, trying to improve the faults of the original and trying to do some new things.
In the end, the level turned out to be a mix between the original, and also Security Breach v2, Divide and Conquer, and Cairn Refinery.
Should play well in both 2on2 and 3on3 matches, with one full heal carrot, Bouncer + Toaster + RF powerups, and one TNT ammo piece. I’m sure you’ll figure out what to do with that one.
The main inspiration behind the visuals should be fairly obvious. However, I probably wouldn’t have made this level without Gridscape’s Dark Groove remix from the JJ20 album, which is featured in this level.
Enjoy!
Edit 1 (7/9/2017): Fixed a tilebug and changed music to OGG from MP3.
Edit 2 (8/9/2017): Made TNT respawn faster and changed the maximum ammo from 1 to 3. Also includes a fix for getting stuck inside the big magnets (thanks SE).
Edit 3 (9/9/2017): Two (very minor) tilebugs fixed. This will be probably the last edit.
Pretty innovative level; the anti-grav takes a lot of getting used to and can feel very slow at times. It is very fun in general and definitely a concept I’d like to see more of. I still feel like this level could greatly benefit from more ammo, and a few minor flow tweaks. – All in all, 8.2!
