Why?
Ok, I'd say it's a pretty safe conclusion that many of us want to see Jazz Jackrabbit keep on living, beyond just people playing JJ2. Some of us actively promote him and J2O, some don't, but we still want it. I was wondering why. Why do you, personally, want or not want Jazz to become a commercial success or whatever? Obviously you aren't wanting it so Jazz will be happy, as Jazz is a fictional character, and will not notice. Do you want it so the average gamer, the same average gamer we make fun of, will play the same game series as you? Or do you just think that a game can not be good if it doesn't have a sequel? I'm curious. Answer me.
Here, I'll start. I want Jazz to be a commercial success, because there's no other way that they'll make more games. I want more games, because I want to know what's going to happen next in the story. In the universe. Be it after JJ2 or after JJA, I want to see the next installment, and all the new ideas it will bring. |

Really, I just want Jazz to become successful because it increases the odds of there being more new Jazz games. I'm not sure if I want it insanely popular, though. Our forum would be flooded with newbs (and I personally like our little community) and, well, judging from the GameFAQS boards of popular games, our Jazz 2 talk forum would be covered by topics like this:
-OMG how do i beat queen boss???!!! -EVEry jazz game after 2 SUCKS -PALY MY LVEL PACK. IT IS MANY GOOD -Eva is so hot... Yeah...you get the idea.

Ok, so why do you want more new Jazz games? Are the types of games you want to play not being made?

I want it to be a commercial success so that this excellent community would get the recognition it deserves, and maybe get some additional members.

I want it to stay alive because it is the greatest game I ever played. Before I discovered J2O (I was very young, about 8 or something) I played JJ2 over and over, and over and...
I did not even know how to use the JCS and that something like a download page for JJ2 exists. As I discovered it I was so happy. I don't know why, but this game makes addicted. I also like the community, because most people here are nice and sometimes very funny. ![]() I don't know if I wanted it to be a commercial success, it'd have good sides and bad ones. However, I hope this community stays very long, because with all the people here I can easily forget all my other problems in real life. + with J2O I learned English! ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's not going to happen, or probably won't, imo.
I just say that HH98-TSF-JJ2, should be released as freeware. Then I would distribute it all the time, and introduce people to this great game, then a petititon or something can be formed and sent to Gathering of Developers or some company(ies) involved in making Jazz2 and the other game. And personally I don't care that it isn't Freeware or not. Because I download it anyway, it is just like the name says, Abandonware. It has been abandoned, and is waiting to become the final phase of any game's life: freeware. It is without a shadow of a doubt, abandonware. I see no reason to buy a game like this. I would never download a new PC game off the internet. Only ones that are old like Sam & Max hit the Road, JJ2, etc... And the point is, I wouldn't download a game where the money is going to the creator still, like most GBA games.

I want Jazz Jackrabbit to be continued. Because I want to know more about the story. I want to see more characters. New connections, dividings and other things between them. I want to see new JJ planets, characteristic like these ones. I want to play a cool platformer game with shooting and multiplayer in 3D, which I can play without having to buy a console. And I want Jazz to be promoted and stuff, because he's a really cool character. I know he's only digital and stuff, but... he rocks!

I think Jazz is a very interesting character. He may look like a rabbit Rambo ripoff, but from what we see from the games, he's a bit like Duke Nukem. Goes to fight for his planet, just because he wants to. The JJ games are sarcastic, with many parodies and cartoon humour. Spaz doesn't look too skilled, yet he still wants to help his older brother. Lori... yay for Lori, and the intelligence that just appears on her fluffy face. Oh, don't forget Eva, a princess that would save herself alone, but doesn't want to spoil the story (that was said in JJA by Zoe, who isn't much like Eva, but this one scene was a lot like her). The evil Devan seems to have respect for Jazz, as he does give him time to reach himself (with the logic of time continuum, he could win before Jazz did anything). Now, isn't that interesting couple? Why people shouldn't know them? I always wanted people to have some good fun with Jazz, the quick, tricky, armed and sarcastic green bunny. There aren't many characters like this one, and in my opinion they're the best type of. It's especially hard to find them on PC.

The JJ series has a certain sentimental value to me. When I was very young JJ1 was easily my favourite game ever, and I've been deeply involved in the JJ2 community for all of my teenage years. I basically grew up with this game, and I have met a lot of friends through it. I have had pricelessly good times with the community. I would like to see the series continue and to expand because I want more people to get to play, enjoy, and appreciate a series that has affected me personally so much. On a side note, let's face it, Jazz games are simply addicting and fun.

Well technically, we could all collaborate on a Jazz game, call it Jazz 3D and release it as freeware. Not that that's going to happen, but theoretically it could.

If we used the phrase "Jazz Jackrabbit" in a fangame's title, who would care anyway?

It's not problem of a phrase, but of the fact that JJ3D was supposed to be official game.

What if someone made a fangame that was better than any of the official JJ games?

hi all, the reson i am making a 3d (massive?) multiplayer game is this:
after i played the jazz3d demo i knew that epic was not going to finish it. at least not in a long time. i tought that was a waste of the good idea of the game. Most of the 2d games in the time of JJ1 now are having a 3d version. it would be more then logical that JJ3 will be created. but since epic could not fiend a publisher the game was no more. but that does not mean it is not a logical step for jazz anymore. its just that epic is not going to fill the hole that was ment for JJ3. i tought that this hole can be filled by anyone else and the only thing would be that it does not have the epic logo on it. (dont get me wrong i am not talking about finishing the JJ3 demo but making a totaly new game). besides who needs a official game if an unofficial game "can" be as good or even better? (i am not saying that it is :P) but now i am going off topic like every time Razz Arena pops up in a thread. i would like epic to boost up jazz and make it a real commercial hit so there puplishers would see that there still is money to make on it. then they will be thinking about making a jazz3d again. but since this is most likely not going to happen i wont bet on it and do some JJ3D of myself. i am calling my game Razz Arena becouse no one could ever thing its JJ3. i dont think i have the rights to claim that name of epic. and not talking about copyrigts but i think Epic deserves that name since its sort of a claim if they ever make JJ3. i dont want to come in there way if it ever comes to JJ3 lol i cant remember posting so mutch text on this forum.

well i want that JJ gets more popular cause it has a special meening for me. It was the first game i ever played on pc. And for JJ3 we will see we cant force Epic to make it but we atleast can stand and say, yes we are loyal JJ Fans and we are still there.
lets see what the future will bring |

I want JJ2 to survive because of it's multiplayer stuff, Good gameplay and high framerates. But thats why I'm starving to get the TSF version of Jazz Jackrabbit 2...
And if you want more servers, this is what you do: If there is a no servers or servers with game types you dont like, MAKE YOUR OWN! ![]() |
