I'm tired of all these hotel levels. I unleashed something very bad onto the jj2 community, and I want to redeem myself by making something better. I'm not going to say much, but let's just say it would be a bit more than a hamster maze where you run around getting coins, like all of these other hotels are. Stupid coins.

I understand that a lot of people actually enjoy running around getting coins, but I'm just sick of it. There are better ways of rewarding people, and I have a system that would most likely work and also put in some actual variation into the gameplay. Imagine that!

I'd probably make this wonderful level right now, if I had one thing: a tileset. All the good ones are overused. If you can think of a tileset which isn't overused, then it isn't good.

All the tileset needs is ground tiles, building tiles, all the basics, letter tiles, number tiles, and of course furnature and whatever other crazy objects people can fight over. The more creative the better. Basically I'm just looking for a generic tileset. The only real rule is that it has to look good.

So, somebody make me a tileset. Go on now. Do JJ2 a favour by helping bring some life into a mostly stagnant type of level. I'll give you nice things ))))

If this crazy plan to randomly ask people to make me a tileset fails, which it probably will, I have a backup plan of sorts where I just use a set I modified a while ago. I don't feel like using it though.


So, go on now. Make me a tileset.

I would, but I'm more of the criticizing type.

Mike, don't turn this into a chaos of love and war.

Nobody skilled enough to meet your standards on creating tilesets has the time or would even care to make a tileset for your gametype. Just being honest.

Feel free and try to proove me wrong.

If I knew what free time was, I would. If you can wait a month, I'll be out of school then and would be willing to make a tileset even you would be proud of.

I wasn't actually expecting to get much out of this thread, and I posted it mostly out of a combination of impulse, curiousity, and boredom.

I tend to have obnoxiously high standards but when I said "looks good" I really meant "doesn't look bad". In this case I'll be impressed enough if anyone even bothers.

Really this thread is just my whining about how much hotel levels suck.


I should also say that in my half-seriousness, I was a bit misleading. I don't want someone to make a tileset just for ME. I'm really just looking for a generic hotel-ish set that I can use which hasn't been used before. It should probably be released normally just like any other tileset. A better title to the thread would have been "Someone make a tileset I can use".

Regardless, I can wait much longer than a month and I'm not going to stop anyone from doing anything. But like I said, I have a backup plan so unless you really want to make a tileset (or were planning on making one anyway), I'm not that desperate.

What Mike is planning is too evil to have ever been done before by anyone, even if by a fluke.

Been finished since january, I've just spent way too much time fussing over little insignificant details. People are testing it right now, and as soon as spoy and violet are done (and maybe one more person) It will be released. Look for it in 2 weeks or so.
