I'll have a cell phone (feel free to PM me for the number, especially if you're a hot girl). I'm on Cingular/AT&T, which has worked perfectly in the greatest country on earth the past 2 times I've gone there.

I'm proposing a hike on Saturday morning. I'm guessing that driving somewhere will be necessary; I haven't looked into public transit/where to go hiking but it seems unlikely that we would be able to get anywhere without a car.
My car should be able to fit at most 5 people in it and I'm willing to start whenever in the morning. Since people might want to join the rest of the group for whatever goes on that day I'd suggest that we try and get back to Vancouver at noonish or early afternoon. I'd suggest we find a hike that's about 3-4 hours and the closer to Vancouver the better (however if there is an excellent trail we can travel further to it). I'd tentatively suggest we leave the hotel around 8am. Note that when I mean leave the hotel I mean the car goes, not people wake up. Since I can't fit everyone in my car I'd like to get a gauge of how many people/who would be interested in going on a hike this early. You don't have to commit or anything, I'd just like a rough estimate. Will go for sure: Bobby Link Very Interested: Somewhat Interested/depends on start time or hike difficulty: Trafton Not interested/I love sleep/hate outdoors/Bobby is mean: Velk Last edited by Bobby aka Dizzy; Jul 15, 2007 at 10:36 AM. |

I can act as a credit card holder for my room.
In terms of activities for Monday, remember that it's a holiday in BC so some places might be closed or have limited hours. I didn't know he was coming. Wow ![]()

I almost forgot - what kind of electronics shall I bring? I'm planning on taking the Xbox 360 (along with a plethora of games, including GUITAR HERO), but should I like...bring my computer or something on top of that? Oh, and is there any interest in me bringing the Wii?
|
Jul 15, 2007, 09:23 PM | |
Bring the wii if you have Sonic and the Secret Rings
![]() I plan to bring JJA, as usual, electronicswise. And some of those random collectibles that nobody else owns so I can show off. But yeah. |
Jul 16, 2007, 06:17 AM | |
If someone else brings a Wii, I can bring Sonic, Rabbids, Wario, Madden, Elebits, Sports and Games. I can also bring one Game Cube controller and Melee. (I can't bring the Wii, Paper Mario or Zelda, as I have a brother)
I also plan on bringing a handful of twisty puzzles: rubik's 2x2x2,4x4x4 and 5x5x5; megaminx, tetraminx, and THE MAZE BALL. And the schedule and rooms so far look delicious. -=edit=- And I will buy Frank breakfast, lunch and dinner one day if he makes it. Seriously.

Is anybody else interested in doing some games over the course of the meeting, like the scavenger hunt? (Only this time the list will be made by the people who are going.)
Also another idea was to do karaoke. I could go for a hike if it's somewhere pretty and we don't exhaust ourselves the night before.

@_@. I will smash you to death.
Are many of us that confident in our voices? GH I could understand, but Karaoke? And a scavenger hunt would be nice.

Scavenger hunts are a good idea, so long as they are...well, sort of relevant to the actual meeting. That'd be a plus.
But yes, Guitar Hero! ...and I'd be willing to do a bit of karaoke with a few shots of courage (Vault). |

I can beat anyone I know in a one-on-one as three different characters, so I will smash YOU!

<everyone3 and also for being so welcoming for me to come <3
I would like to note that I'm back to "maybe" again, pending a decision by the airline about an error that was made with the plane ticket (the airline isn't liable so no incentive for them to refund/replace with another one). I'll likely hear by Monday. I'm going to trust everything's fine, but I can't know.

The ticket issue is said by the travel agency to be resolved, I'll be getting the proper fixed tickets sent ASAP. I'd say that makes me confirmed, unless for some God-knows-what reason things mess up again.
I wonder if anybody else will be arriving at the Vancouver airport around 5PM/17:00? Maybe we could travel the remainder of the trip together. Woooo Hooooooo Edit: woooo hooooooo

How/when do the card holders need to pay? Will I need to provide my credit card in advance, when I check in, or when I check out, and when will it actually be charged?
Frank, my flight gets in at about 6:37 PM. By the time you go through customs and get your luggage and everything it will probably be after 6 PM. If you wanted to wait around for a while we could go to the hotel together. It should be pretty straightforward to get there on your own, though.

I just got an email back from one of the pastors at Crossway Community Church (See this post) and he said that if we take skytrain to the King George station, he can arrange a ride for us from there to the church and back. He would like to have a headcount ASAP, for driving arrangements, so if you plan on coming with me to Crossway, let me know sometime before Friday, the sooner the better.

I forgot about that. I usually have one with me with all my other carry on stuff, but I never think of having it for that purpose. Good reminder.

The Church I regularly attend is a small Anglican one that recently turned 100. It's got a great sense of community but is definitely older fashioned. If you want a fairly big Church that's not hard to get to there's Willingdon Church. (http://www.willingdon.org/) Otherwise as Michael said there are plenty of Churches around. |

Spotty why don't you wait a year? Cuz I wanna see if i can gain so money and go next year. I probably will have 2 wait to years on that though when i'm 18 but i'd love to go to one of these jj2 meetings one of these years.

So... is ANYONE taking their wii or gamecube, and should I bring any games/controllers? Let me know before Wednesday and I'll do so. Otherwise I'll leave them here. I'd offer to bring my Wii, but I do not have sole rights to it.

I own a wii and live in vancouver. Though, due to the way it's set up it would be too difficult to unplug it from my TV. Like I'd need to move the tv, and it's a big tv.
In other words I can supply controllers (I have 2) or games (I have a few ones with multilplayer) but not the console itself. |
