I don't know this, but it might be that your video card is not supported by the game. There was some video card emulator on the web, but I don't really know that does it work with this...

Question: Why is this in a jazz-related forum?

fun fact: if you go to google, and type "star racing render errors" or "star racing render technique" im pretty sure you would most likely get a solution faster. :P

Snz, I had tried that. It seems that this game has about as big community as JJ2 has, but it doesn't have any webpages.

@faw: this is JazzJackrabbit Community Forums > Jazz Jackrabbit Forums > General Jazz Jackrabbit Talk > Technical Help forum.

@snooze: I tried that, and much more.

@jake: I believe it is much bigger.

Well, it's old description was "Technical help, wether or not for JJ2" or something like that. Before it was shifted, that is.

As far as I'm aware, the Technical Help forum is for any technical questions, Jazz-related or not.

@Toni: I've never heard of this game before (and searching online didn't throw up anything useful), so I've got no specific advice for it. Some stuff that's generally worth trying is making sure your drivers are up to date, install any patches for the game, installing the latest version of DirectX, run the game in compatibility mode (right-click on the shortcut, Properties, Compatibility tab, experiment with different settings there). If it used to work and then has stopped recently, then uninstall any software/drivers you've installed recently and see if that fixes it.

Actually, it was me.

The game seems to be reporting a syntax error next to ':', which implies that it's doing some sort of runtime interpretation of settings. Ask that board for their settings, or see if you can reinstall the game. Or, you can scour through the config files. Perhaps "188" refers to a line number.

In that case I'll just say that some administrator does a bad job at placing the forums in the right categories.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind this problem being discussed. It's just silly that we are discussing another game in a subforum of "General Jazz Jackrabbit talk".
