Due to popular request and not seeing any further signs of votes coming in, I am officially closing votes earlier than the aforementioned deadline (even though I extended it a day by accident). If you want to vote do it now, otherwise results should be coming shortly within a few hours.

Here goes, the results of the JCS Awards 2011 as voted by you, J2O!
~Best Battle The Impossible Metropolis by cooba (5 votes)The Impossible Metropolis offers you staggeringly unique gameplay and an amazing surreal feel to it. Not to say the runner-ups aren't strong battle levels in their own merit, but the Impossible Metropolis was the clear winner here, congratulations to cooba! ~Best CTF Frontier Falls by FawFuL (10 votes)Scratch best CTF of 2011, Frontier Falls is the best CTF of JJ2 history. Agree or disagree, Frontier Falls has a place in the mappool on JJ.net and should be cherished for its high quality and brilliant polish. The runner ups will hopefully have better luck next year (if Faw doesn't do something ridiculously good again). ~Best Other Multiplayer Release Disruption by minmay (4 votes)A tie? Well that was unexpected to say the least. Congratulations to Lithium and minmay for both making first place, with two truly unique levels. ~Best Pack BUT ENOUGH TALK! (Another OLC Battle Pack) by Obsessive Level Creators (14 votes)BUT ENOUGH TALK! ~Best Single Player Resurrection of Evil Episode 1: Time Lapse by Laro B. (5 votes)This one was very very close, and not as many voters as in the other categories, however LaroB snatches the gold and has a very good pack up there. Do check it out if you haven't already! ~Best Tileset Rage of Aquarius by Violet CLM (10 votes)Looks like Violet had a very good year! I don't really have much more to say on this but if you ask me all the tilesets released this year were of amazing quality. And finally, ~Best JCSer cooba - Alienation: Abridged, Big Apple Beatdown, Officials vs Competitors 20, The Impossible Metropolis, Wilderness - (7 votes)Looks like the collaborators of Eye of the Storm have some celebrating to do! (Poor GP). Many others got one vote. Clear winner here though, cooba has gone from strength to even greater strength, and a huge round of applause is well deserved here. --------------------------------------------- And that's just the way the cookie crumbled this year! Congratulations to all the winners and runner-ups, and also everyone else who even made a level. 2011 was certainly a tremendous year for levels and I hope everyone enjoyed this ceremony and 2011 as a whole! Keep JCSing everybody! |

This is me right now (and just as handsome as Matt Smith nonetheless):
Thanks to everyone who voted and to everyone who made levels! I'm very happy with how these turned out. When we were putting the pack together I was completely convinced Doomed Citadel and Raggot would win in their categories (they deserved it fully!), so me winning in two fields is a great surprise I swear I won't make anything as big as The Impossible Metropolis again (though I'll keep JCSing (FOREVER LOL)). And those who voted for themselves can suck it down!

Wow, um. I wish I could disqualify Rage of Aquarius somehow, because I feel I did so little of the legwork for that one that it really shouldn't be the best tileset of the year. Obviously I did very little of the artwork myself -- there's a reason the whole thing took less than 48 hours -- and it's basically an homage to Sea of Flames from Wanderlust and the Land of Wrath and Angels, neither of which I personally created. Pretty much my sole contribution was taking other people's ideas (and artwork) and rearranging them. I don't disagree that I rearranged them well, and the set has certainly gotten some use in the interim, but it seems wrong that RoA should be in the same category as Palmtree Plaza, which (modulo the Sonic influence) was a completely original creation and really rather creative and well executed. Like, they're both good, but ought they really be in competition with one another? But I am glad you all liked it so much, and I hope to continue releasing interesting things for your enjoyment.

First of all, I want to congratulate everyone who has won an award.
I didn't vote this year because I was busy with other stuff, but I am still here. If the OLC pack didn't get released I could have won the best MP pack award. I'm surprised I still got 3 votes though. This year I probably won't get the best MP pack award because snz will release NAV. It was definitely OLC's year, simply because not enough XLM levels were created (or not enough levels of the same quality) but I'm glad a XLM member has won an award. Also, I should have been less lazy after I released IA. So hopefully this year I will be less lazy and hopefully there will be more good XLM levels! |

Yeah, I'd have to say that just about all of these on here are well deserved.
I was a little bummed that One Starry Night only got two votes, although since it is without a doubt the most tremendously underrated upload I've ever posted, it's not surprising. Plus, it's awfully hard to argue with the two packs that beat it, and the numbers tell all. My heartfelt and sincere congratulations to both. Frontier Falls was an obvious win. I mean, really. Was anything actually gonna come close to beating it? Good job to everyone, and I promise to help make 2012 even better than 2011. God bless you all.
