On the potential for a Jazz Jackrabbit reboot:
“Not any time soon. We’re (fortunate) slaves to our success here at Epic with great franchises like Gears of War and Infinity Blade. It seems like a risky bet: Could we see a 2D platform game return and really move that many units, or would it just be a cult hit?
“We make games as a labor of love, but we also try to weigh the choice of what we build based upon a solid understanding of the business. How could Jazz exist and flourish in this market? I don’t know, honestly. One idea that [Duke Nukem creator] George Broussard and I discussed years ago was to bring back Jazz as an FPS, Jumping Flash style. But yeah, we’ll do that in our ‘spare’ time.”

This news is Jazz related by proxy. By that, I mean it brushes along the fringes of what might be Jazz Jackrabbit news.
It is Jazz in the news, if anything :).
So the Kotaku writer who got the Jazz tattoo has written an article on his impressions of Noogy’s Elysian Tail. He takes the time to speak of Dean’s involvement with Jazz Jackrabbit 2.

Jazz 2 for Android - July 3rd 2012
Jazz 2 (including plus features)should be ported to Android devices, so people could play online without turning on their computers. Does someone assume to make it?

Epic Games Hiring Big Huge Games Team, They Are Using an Old Epic IP - June 4th 2012

Big Huge Games was closing recently, so they approached Epic, and asked if they could use one of their old IPs, but Big Huge Games were running out of money FAST, so Epic hired the entire team, and they are going to work on an old IP of Epic’s.
Fingers crossed that it’s Jazz Jackrabbit(Although I can’t think of any old IPs that Epic own apart from Epic Pinball)!

Epic Games has interviewed Alexander Brandon, the music composer for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and 3D. This is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Epic Games. Alexander has a rich history within Epic Games because he composed music for games such as Tyrian, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, TSF, Unreal and Unreal Tournament. So for Epic Games it was a must to ask some questions about his career, his vision, how he gets insperation and ofcourse what the future brings!
