Cracco Clan

Cracco Clan is one of the oldest and largest clans in the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 community. The tag for the Cracco Clan is CC, or [CC].

History

The Cracco Clan was created by CraccoBoy in 1999, with the original name of Cracco Club. Its first member was Coolm@n, who was co-leader until 2002. The clan was renamed in 2000, many new members were recruited, and the first trainings in CC began. Also in 2000, together with the clans TEC and UR, CC founded the immense clan group CTU. The first gameleader for JJ2, Neo, was also appointed.

In 2001 the first official CTF clanwar was played, against JOL, and many others followed. A year later Neo became the new co-leader and CC became allied with XÐ and TEC’s revival. The clan has only lost one clanwar ever, in a match against the Fellowship of the Ring clan. They later managed to beat FoR during JJ2WCII with a 19-4(5-4) win.

One unique aspect of CC is that its members occassionally organise real-life meetings. For example, the clan’s 5-year anniversary was celebrated in a theme park in the Netherlands, where many of its members live. They started doing this on a large scale in 2003, the year in which CC also got their new domain name and web site (see below).

2004 was a year of cooperation with other clans, as there were significant alliances with both XSÐ and BC/LR. During 2005, the clan won the second edition of JJ2WC by not having lost a single round after the 16-6 win in the finals against VerSus. The clan was since shown to have cheated by participating under fake-nicknames for Shaney‘s clan the Legendary Blades in the tournament, and therefore the award was declared as useless. After the success of JJ2WC CC got a major boost and a lot of new members joined. Also, some members that had joined LB for JJ2WC rejoined the clan.

Later on the same year, during JDC11, the entire top 5 consisted of CCers (those were: Vegito, Chiyu, Messiah, Grytolle and Spybunny). After JDC11 the clan remained very active, awaiting a chance to defend/retake their JJ2WC-title, but when the latest edition of JJ2WC (arranged by ChippieBW), a major part of CC’s memberstock was disappointed. CC expanded to Age of Empires III in the same period, a division which would (temporarily) become more active than JJ2 itself. Due to these two reasons, the clan became slightly less active than around JJ2WC2/JDC11, but it remained one of the most active clans on JJ2.

In 2006, the member Rocko introduced Hamachi to CC and JJ2, a program that has greatly benefited the community. This enabled lots of people to play and host online without problems, which they haven’t been able to do before. The clan picked up its winning streak from 2005, defeating 8D in a very exciting clanwar, Chiyu & Vivando8D winning J2MC and Vegito winning JDC. The atmosphere in the clan reached a climax when Rocko organised the international CC Summer Weekend in Germany, the biggest meeting yet with twelve members staying in a guesthouse for the weekend.

Connections and other games

Currently (October 6th 2006), CC also plays the games Maple Story, Age of Empires II, Age of Empires III, Civilization IV, _RuneScape_, Super Smash Brothers, Fly for Fun, Unreal Tournament and Counter-Strike. CC has been a member of three clan groups in the past, CTU, GG and CKA. CC CC lost alliance with RR , RR broke it bacause the CC clan were not supportive to them .
