Jazz Jackrabbit 2 MAC

The Apple Macintosh version of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was created by the now-bankrupt Logicware.

Differences from the Windows version

The Macintosh version of JJ2 differs in that:
  • There is no way to play the game in windowed mode.
  • The music engine is a somewhat different, making music written in the FastTrack format sound different than in the Windows version.
  • Some cheats were added in.
  • Blocks (destruct scenery, etc.) respawn.
  • The JCS wasn’t ported with this version, so it is not possible to create and edit levels.

Version numbers

The default version on the retail CD is 1.2.8.
After the game has been upgraded with the list server patch, the version changes to 1.22eu or 1.22us, depending on the patch applied (Europe and United States respectively).

Becky "Burger" Heineman, who created this version of the game, went on to maintain the jazz.logicware.com list server, later renamed to jazz.contrabandent.com.
