NotifyJJ2 was created by Link and is for use of the entire Jazz Jackrabbit 2 community. It was created with one purpose in mind: convenience. With the number of people actually playing online decreasing daily, one sometimes has to wait for a long time before people join his or her server. As it is human nature to get bored quickly, the server operator naturally wants to do something else while their server is empty. This “something else” can be anything from browsing the internet to doing homework. Unfortunately, while running behind other windows or minimized, JJ2 doesn’t give the operator any indication that someone has joined. This means that the operator must keep switching between JJ2 and whatever else they are doing. If someone joins a server, and finds it with nobody else except an idle host, he or she will leave. If the host greets him or her however, the player may stay. NotifyJJ2 eliminates the need for checking the server every few seconds. It can play a sound, flash the JJ2 window, and display who is joining right in the taskbar, which eliminates the need for annoying message boxes. Pretty darn awesome proggie for server hosting addicts.
I have been waiting an eternity for a program like this. Excellent job! However, I would like an alert when someone says something.
Eat your lima beans, Johnny.
