This level is the third episode of my series named Contemplation in an Aubergine Garden.
One of my issues with common level design was that coin warp prices are completely unrealistic in many levels. Although it appears to be viewed as a minor flaw, it’s something I really wanted to address, because I believe that every part of a level should be an integral part of the gameplay, rather than a quirk that comes up once in a blue moon. This belief, along with a strong conviction that seeker power-ups are superior to shields, eventually came to fruition, creating this level.
The level itself doesn’t require JJ2+, but the patch is necessary to support the music format (the original IT file is available on The Mod Archive but a little over 5 MB). The track can also be bought on Bandcamp if you want to support the artist.
This is cool. I like the usage of the tileset and colors.
Cool level, had fun playing here, espiecally because of the fact that the powerups respawn quickly. The coin warps here are one of the best that ive ever seen as I actually bother to hunt after the coins (unlike most other battle levels with coins)
The tileset is nice, colorful and rarely used which makes the level even more original
