Note: Giving a ten is not overrating or saying that there will be nothing better. You give a ten if the item complies well with today’s standards. That’s not to say that there won’t be anything better; the standards may very well change. Hopefully we won’t be playing as many hotels in the future, though. The rating does not change because a ten is a recognition of the item complying with the time/era’s standards. I just wanted to clear that up, as some of the reviewers are going by the false principle of standards always being the same in every time; this has certainly been proven wrong. Just review with comfort. ;-P
blah blah fixing…
All fixed.[This review has been edited by Bobby aka Dizzy]
Very cool.
It does a great job at duplicating the Jazz style while at the same time adding something new. It also looks realy great. The fog is cool.
Some minor con-s:
- like Disguise said, a couple of things are missing (tubes, poles, etc).
- I also kinda dislike the copying of graphics. I’ve seen the (layer 8) clouds, the big mouth turtle and the weapondestruct blocks before (okay the destruct-blocks is nitpicking)…
btw…the keys and doorlocks are not new. Tomb Rabbit used them as well.

Dunno weird euh

Littl’ note: Has anyone noticed stunts to be paranoid? I think he is… But this is the place nor the time to speak of that.
How can a level with NO reviews have an average grade of 8???
This tileset indeed looks nice and is pretty easy to use, but it misses a lot of things.
Ill be awaiting something like a v2.0 or the like, for now it isnt much yet
‘Fraid i have to give a low rating to this too…
What is asault anyway? ;p
Nicely made. Worth your space and an 8.
Keep it up!

1) If your not going to remap the tileset pallette then make it something neet (I’m making Jazz 1898, an old fashion tileset).
2)When will you learn that power-ups must not lie all over the level and be things that you up-cut to get ammo, if your so despirate to put power-ups in every corner then get rid of the ammo.
3) All your levels are so tiny (and so are there rating ;) make a big level, this level looks like it was made in 10 minits maximum 15.
And it’s not got anything to do with a temple or else call me Blindy-Billy-Bench-Eater.

Weird Lvl`s
Very Small
Layout Design Is bad
eyecandy poor
Download? No Sorry
SPLASH is right:
Out of 20 lvls:
Lvls under a 6: 16
Lvls between 6 and 7: 1 (Blackdeath)
Lvls between 7 and 8: 2 (SPLASH and Tazar)
Lvls between 8 and 9: nothing
Lvls between 9 and 10: 1 (Agama)
two conclusions:
“The newbies have discovered the excistence of j2o”
“People don’t take time to build a lvl and make it perfect”
This is just a small messages, I don’t rate 1P lvls cos I don’t have the expierence of building one. (I don’t like building them)

Further I agree with aiko..
yeah didnt put in a next lvl setting…cos there isnt a end in the lvl :)
Whoo. Another level from Gargoyle. Are this old levels from you, or do you make a new level every day?
Anyway, this level is… still weird. The eyecandy is average. Lotsa dead ends, and too much ammo, IMO. The idea is not bad, but a spiral has one start and one end, and this level has too much ends. I like the leafs in the diamondus tileset, but you really overused them. I remember the Spiral v1.0… Well, this level is better. But not enough good changes. Also i don’t like levels who are just copied from the normal battle level, but with CTF bases. They are not original and I don’t like them. Anyway, don’t go off-topic. The level. It has some one-way tiles, so you can get stuck easy. Also, the music selection is bad. jiust use the normal Diamondus music.Congratilations, Gargoyle, you got my longest review ever. Use it :)
This can get a 5.0 for the idea. You might want to download this, if you like new ideas.

CHANGE: It’s not a REAL new idea, it’s just v2.02 of a new idea ;)[This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
“Alien Testlab” is a brand-new tileset having about 330 nice-looking tiles. There are some basic level building structures like walls, “pavement” and the like. Spikes and some background tiles are also useful. Unfortunately the whole look of the tileset is not really what i personally would term “cool” (as in “Whew! That rocks!”). Most of the tiles look boring somehow, i don’t know…maybe it’s the colours. Plus, as far as i can see, there is no real concept behind the set (well, the Alien thingy, of course). By the way, did you ever see a green Ferrari Testarossa??? (and how does this car fit into the tileset?).
Splash also included a small example level where he tries to show us some advantages of his tileset. However, the next level setting is wrong :-)
Well, to sum it up: the main idea behind this tileset doesn’t become clear enough and there are too many “useless tiles” (you know what i mean) like Jazz pictures, website advertisements and so on.
However, it’s DEFINITELY WORTH A LOOK![This review has been edited by Aiko]
This is a tileset with:
~Some basic “platform” tiles
~Some cool animations
~Some cool pictures for eyecandy
~2 Weird copied textured backgrounds
I really like that fast car with jazz… It gives me what wimster promised but not did :)
I’ll throw a 7.5 to you. Catch it.
