lol…
I remember this… I forgot to submit it and it got released in the winter ;D
I think I blamed it on email problems.
By the way: the levels in this pack are over a year old. It was not intended for release this summer.
I’m not going to rate this because some levels are mine.
This level is sooo cute ;-)…
I was fortunate enough to get to see this level while Fquist was still designing it. I won’t give away which level it parodys, so that you’ll have to go download it for yourself :P. Anyway, Fquist did a very good job of rebuilding this level. He had to use a lot of clever improvisation when converting the tiles without counterparts in the hh98 set. I also love the humorous text :). There’s, so far as I can tell, no errors anywhere. This level deserves a 10, but because the idea is not entirely original, I only give it a 9. Great job, Fquist! :-)
Ahhh…
This ancient tileset reminds me of my early days in tileset creation. It’s got a lot of the same primative elements that I find in my own first sets. Overall, it’s excellent for a begginer’s set… and that’s mostly why it got an 8. It’s got a lot of usefull tiles, which also helps, although not many of them are exactly, well, pretty (typical of first sets). The use of gradients across the faces of many of the tiles would’ve made a better impact, along with a more definate light source. More eye-candy would also be an asset. Overall, I salute Fquist for his excellant work, and sympathize with him for his errors in this early tileset. …DooDlyness… :-).
WoW!…
This level rocks :). It’s the right length, has great use of its tileset, and… it’s really fun! The only reasons why it didn’t get a 10 are that its music is a little too slow-paced for a race level (although it is nice :) ), and in some parts of the level (like the middle) I think a little more eye-candy could’ve been used. Aside from that, it’s great! I absolutely love that background! If you download one race level in your entire life, make it this one! Fquist obviously put a lot of thought into it.
Tee hee. Indeed. I had a lot of fun with those blocks. That’s why i placed those bouncers. If you first shoot a one higher block with the normal gun, and then shoot a bouncer while standing on the lower block, and jump on the higher block, the bouncer kills the lower block precicly, slowering the enemy..
Quite a nice little lev. The music is good. (doesn’t fit the level as good as other tunes would…) The length of this level was just right and overall it gets a good 7 from me.
There’s little in the way of eye candy and there’s change from low detail but…
Let’s face it this could be alot of fun online all you need is a bunch o people.
Shooting blocks from underneath people
is sweet and a laugh riot. :)
(Also Labrat isent the easyest tile set to use)
The password has been included via your reqests also please note this has
already been rated and was sent to the easter contest.
The part I like about this level is the originality. The length is good too.
Everything else is OK, exept for the music. It doesn’t fit the level. Music in race levels should be fast paced (I reccomend tecno music).
5 points for graphics and using the tileset right.
2 points for originality
1 point for being a good length
-1 for bad music choice
Somehow, this "Labrat" level is pretty funky! Maybe its because of the very relaxed background music
(great choice, F quist!), maybe because of all the neat stuff the author called "experimental" :-)
People may say the layout is too simple, its too short and blahblah. But I dont think so. I think its
a great level and even a MUST-DOWNLOAD. You should really check it out (7.5 Points)!
Nice race level, I remember i tested this one a loooong time ago :) It has a lot of different types of obstacles for a person to try and pass. Not EXTREMELY long either, just right. I like it :)
Nice racelevel :) I got a bit confused with the background layers sometimes cause they are moving constantly.
I saw some originaly new stuff.. Like ehm… Th boxes that you had to shoot :)
Good level overall[This review has been edited by Newspaz]
I have not much to add. Everything is average. The design is okay but there isnt much eyecandy and layer work. Unfortunately there are also some minor bugs (layers, mask etc.).
Actually, you dont miss THAT much if you dont download "Moonlight Diamondus" :-)
The "Moonlight Castle" is a pretty decent level. I like the layout and eyecandy and
theres not too much too criticise. Okay, there’re loads of ammo in it, but Battle freaks like me could
like that. I say its allright but nothing special. Battle freaks should download!
Unfortunately there isnt much eyecandy but some minor bugs (textured 3d layer 8, mask etc.) in this level, which uses the
large Haunted House TSF tileset. The layout doesnt look very special, too. Everything else is okay :-) However, to sum it up, i won’t force anyone to download this.
By the way, king, why didnt you make a pack?
Nice level. Eyecandy and layout are average. Nothing more to say. Its 5.9 points :-)
P.S.: EvilMike, replace your 1.23 with TSF and stop your bad comments about TSF. ‘cause it gets boring.
I was pretty undecided about a rating for this, but before you download or check out, remember this: it’s awesome. :-)
The layout a superb, and the eye candy was used very well.
I may be able to play this, but I still do not enjoy tsf levels because I’m part biased aganst it and a lot of people can’t play tsf levels. Because of this I will be mean and lower the rating by 1 :P
I couldn’t find any mistakes, or problems at all in this level.
10 points for being great
-1 point for being tsf :P
(at least you used a tsf tileset. If this was using a 1.23 tileset it would be more like -9)
PS: Tsf JCS is a paperclip, is worshiped by microsoft and plays the accordian.
Aiko, i hope the cuss filter came into play by accident. :)
Good battle level! Layout and eyecandy are more than okay. Lets download!
(P.S.: I was undecided between 6 and 7 points here.)
