indeed, it is a small level, but in the beginning it is a bit tricky, for the open area you can’t enter… So my first round was over 1 minute, but it is not sush a good race level, so I won’t rate this so high. But still an 7,5
The evil reviewer strikes back…finally a review after months of only watcging others rating levels :).
Project Black Battle: if this is a battle level, it misses powerups. The eyecandy is honestly very bad. The background hurts the eye, and there is nothing you can say “wow, cool”.
Project Electroman: This level reminds me of a singleplayer levels. There are several upgrades, but it is plenty of dead ends and it seems to me as if the level goes straight to a certain direction. The foreground eyecandy also is not good here.
Project Blaster (ow heck, get rid of that “project” in the levelname!): Not much to say. Few weapons, no eyecandy, slow and bad gameplay.
Project Deathmatch: There is a typo in your levelname, you typed “poryect”, a y instead of the j :D. Finally some pups here. They respawn WAY too fast though. The background is nice here, but the foreground is actually NASTY. Also, the level is very Jazz unfriendly and has a bad overall gameplay.
Project Big War: This level has a farily good eyecandy. The gameplay is quite ok as well, but the weapon placement sucks. There are several upgrades next to each other, and then you won’t find one for hours.
Project Jumpinthefier: I like the idea of this level, but the gameplay is very bad. Awful is e.g. that there are NO one ways. This fact makes the level extremely Jazz unfriendly and also bad to play for Spaz.
Project Goodbye: I like the foreground you used here. But the level overall is empty. And Agama’s tilesets offer so much eyecandy you can us…it is just kind of a misuse of the tileset, a more simple one would have been enough for the level…
Project Cobra: This level misses one ways, and it has that single player structure again.
Project Space Man: You should not use dark lighting in a tileset that is dark already. This makes the level quite hard to play, and also, it is so empty again…
Project Gun Fire: The rain is interesting, lol. Rain that moves only in x-direction and not y, and even on the x-direction, it moves in the completely wrong direction!!! The level’s structure is again like a SP level, and the weapon placement is bad.
Project Blue War: Though this level finally has the structure of a battle level, it is very boring, and the flashs are annyoing.
Project Boomerang: You seem to be a fan of Disguise’s tilesets. But please. If you use them, USE THEM CORRECT! You did not make use of the places to hide which Space Warbase offers so well. That makes the level quite stupid in some parts. Also, you only used the soil tiles and no base tiles. That’s again a bad use of the tileset.
Here we are…time for an overall rating, or what I did not like in most levels:
Level Structure:
Most level’s structures remind on singleplayer levels. You come back on your old patch only seldom, except on dead ends.
—> 3.5
Tileset Usage:
You used many very good tilesets. But you did not use them at their full cost. I already said that in the reviews about the single levels, use all tiles the tilesets offer, if possible! And it was possible in your levels.
—> 4.0
Eyecandy:
I have to differ here. If you mean that eyecandy is that the tiles fit good to each other and there is no single water block in the middle of land, the eyecandy is good. But if you think that eyecandy is making usage of the several layers, it is mostly not good.
—> 4.5
Weapon Placement:
I am sorry to say that, but the weapon placement just sucks. In all levels. See, you walk around for years, and finally find 5 powerups next to each other. But before you find the next powerups, you will need to walk through the whole level again.
—> 3.0
Gameplay:
Not good. See level structure.
—> 3.0
Overall: ==> 3.6 = 3.5 . I will though give a bonus because it is a pack and you probably spent a lot of time in it.
===> 4.2
It is nice if these are your first levels. You should watch levels by, e.g. Cell or Evilmike. Just play them and let them enspire you.
Ow, and FlameWitch, please do not rate the level just because Blackkiller is your friend. Also, you can’t review a whole levelpack with only one sentence!
Ok a bit hard, but a lot of savepoints. I have nothing else to say except “WELL DONE!!!!!!!!” 9.7
But oh, I found the secret episode, playing was hard but interesting space adventuring. The end of story was sad.
Ps. What’s wrong with marquee?[This review has been edited by Superjazz]
I can tell one thing, this one lost its old atiode, and for say it honestly, I found very disguistng to listen to.
I don’t like the tunes you used, and it dosen’t really mind me much of Fanolint anymore.
I must agree with its wroth a 7, its intresting and its acceptable to listen to.
Nice job.
Hmmm……Strange name. Yes, i can tell that you drew some parts yourself, because i have the full version of jj1, including the lost episodes, so i know how deserto looks. The eyecandy in the level is ok, sometimes confusing, and overused, but ok. The placement is good, not over or under used, but ok and well placed. The gameplay is also good, although if i can remember properly, i did stumble onto 1 or 2 dead ends, which deducts from the mark.
Nothing more….
Ok, to start off my review
EYECANDY: It was well done, i saw few errors. There were some sucker semi-secrets in this level which made it interesting.GAMEPLAY: I liked the gameplay here, good platform positioning etc. PLACEMENT: It was ok, i kinda liked it and all, well it was good. OTHER: This CTF level which was made by EvilMike uses the wartorn tileset which was made by toxicbunny. Looking at the level i really must comment toxicbunny on his great tileset. i liked that sucker thing and how u placed the powerups and stuff, although the oneway above he seeker pu was placed to low andwhen i jump i accidentaly touch the oneway and go up which puts me in danger if anyoone is lurking above, and it causes me to lose more time and get a greater risk of the seekr pu being reached by someone else before me. I liked the eycandy of this level, i think it was well done. Although this level is 1 point below my maximum Rating for single levels, this is still a fun and interesting level made by EvilMike. I can tell lots of effort was put into this and it gets a big fat download reccomendation from me. Keep Making levels Mike, ur rivaling CelL in CTF! Keep at it and good job.
Sadly to say, i didnt like this as much as most of you. The backround is good, but the settings…..I really dun like the fire place, the water is ok, but still not good. The grassy place is the best, for it looks normal and detailed. I really cant say this deserves a download reccomendation, and it got a 7 because i just dont see much wrong with it except the bacround and sutff.
It is textured ok, and lacks detail, like i said before, and that is mainly the reason i dont like it much. I only reccomed this with ppl with a different opinion, or just all-out disguise fans.
Hmmm……Ill just do a basic review
EYECANDY: 3.5/5
The levels looked plain, i found VERY few eyecandy errors, im not usre if i found any infact. But the eyecandy is plain, simple, but still better than your basic eyecandy. Nothing special about eyecandy in these levels though
GAMEPLAY: 4/5
Hmm..Some levels have good gameplay, some have average. I liked the gameplay of most levels though. Better than the eyecandy, on my opinion, but not perfect
PLACEMENT:3.3/5
The springs were placed ok, nothing wrong, some were placed very good infact, but the ammo placement kinda got boring sometimes. I got frustrated with the warps in the Ultimate Hotel level, and that wasnt very good, but i still liked that level nevertheless.
EVERYTHING ELSE: 4.4/5
The backrounds and tilesets were used properly and all, nothing more to say about this.
OVERALL:7.8 approx. A good effort worth a download
I like thistileset. Guess both Disguise and Distuct are talented. Well, back to rewieving. I just love the backround, looks awesome. The ground isnt bad either, i like how distruct drew the rocks. The flowers hanging form vines look a bit cartoonish though, the rain looks very thin. The color is good, and textured, this tileset is so rox and good, so i give it a download reccomendation and a big, solid 8.
OMG WOW?!?!?!STRANGE
I agree with Violet there, it isnt music, and it isnt jazz related. Although I actually thought of the sound to be interesting, it was to short to get a higher mark than a 5. Im being nice and giving it .5 more points just because it had a funny beat to it. I still dont reccomend anyone to download this though.
Hmm……I like this one. It has a slower beat, which im sure this music will never be used for race levels, but it ha a melodious tone to it which made me go off to dreamland listening to it. Some parts i liked, some parts i didnt, but there is one thing i can be sure of, this is a great music conversion and that acid makes good music. I liked this way better than the other music conversion of Fanolint, and I hope you keep making music conversions. Good Luck
Well, not as high as 8.5, but for music, this one is good. Not the best as it can be, to much drums and cymbals for me, but i still think it is good to use in holiday levels, if anyone decides to make any. Its a good effort and i reccomend this music to all..
A few big animals saying “Hahhhm”. Lasts about seven seconds max.
Music. Jazz related.
This file is the first two things. Not the second two.

Nice music. I liked the first remix a little better than the second. Definately a download recommendation for music fans.
I haven’t played the original Hocus Pocus so I cannot comment on how wel it resembles it…
I enjoyed the episode right up until I got to the switch combinations with the white bottle. I really hate that kind of puzzle. It basically forces you to systematically try EVERY combination until you get the right one. I used jjnext every time I encountered one of those from that point on.
I thought the big pixels on the tileset were a bit anoying but I guess that had to be done to keep the scale the same as the original.
On the whole a fun episode. Shame about the combination-puzzles…
[edit] With the combination puzzles out of the way I must say I quite enjoyed it.[This review has been edited by Ninja Dodo]
I was expecting a little more based on the reviews, but i overally liked this. The spaceship idea in the beginning, it was well done. Looked cool and so. The race, few obstacles, looked a bit barren to me, not much fun. The eyecandy was well done, i liked it, the wind, it was annoying and stuff. The mainj problem was that this level was barren and got boring REALLY fast. Download reccomedation? I guess so…..
Even I bothered help JSZ Jazz, it dosen’t give bonus points in the rating.
The convertion is screwed from the orginal quality, and the mask is badly screwed up too.
Enough of that, the tileset at least have a textured background.
I wouldn’t say download is recommed thought.
Nice, but you could refresh the samples (they’re about 8 years old, man). As your remixing enemy I can’t rate it, but it seems that it will be hard to beat you this time.
