Well, this is a small tileset with many wizard (is that the good word? A man who does trickies?:) ) things, like a hat, a set of cards and stuff like that. The destruction animations are once again very nice, the textures on some things are very good. But the shading on everything except the balls is very bad; round things mostly look flat and stuff like that. The tileset also is too small to do many things with..
And Piccolo, you CAN give a 6.5 when you like it. I think its nice, with nice ideas but not beautiful enough and with not enough tiles..
Keep on making sets![This review has been edited by Piccolo aka SoulFire]
Give me a break man these are my first lvls!
Eh,Flash!
6.5 is NOT much!
If you like it,give it at least a 7!
Well,my review:
It’s a nicely done tileset with loadsa destructive things.
But the background stuff could be much improved, and the masking really lacks!
Download if you want to![This review has been edited by Piccolo]

Hmm, i think next time i should upload the font file with it? i guess the font i used is not a standard font, and the font it uses instead completely messes up the program :/
also:
winner, id add you if u hosted a server while i was online. :p – and also, i dont have xp. and idont even know who ssb issa is, it was just the name of a server person so i put that on there, i am just adding names, i do not verify anything.[This review has been edited by spazzyman]
This level pack contains levels that are all pretty much the same, but with different tilesets. I’m not going to rate each level individually, because there’s almost an exact similarity between all of these levels.
Eyecandy: The eyecandy in these levels is very simple, underused, and not used properly. There are very few changes in eyecandy throughout the levels, and there are no patterns or variety in the way the eyecandy is set up.
Gameplay: The gameplay in this pack is very bad. Very few curves, or anything that can make the level more fun to play in. There are springs leading to the next platform, which is very simple and boring. These levels mostly consist of square platforms with springs leading to one another.
Weapons/Ammo: One thing I found completely annoying was that all of the powerups were beside eachother. You can never do this. You must put powerups in all different parts of the level, so it isn’t so easy to get powerups, and to avoid camping. Other weapons are scattered throughout the levels, and I don’t have too much of a problem with the weapon placement, other than the powerups.
Grassy Battle Fields Pack is a very simple and poorly planned battle pack. I suggest you use more variety in your levels next time. I give this pack a 3.5A very good battle lvl. It’s way better than my first lvl (which you can – conincidentally – download on J2o as well ;-)
Rockingham Garden has got very good gameplay. It’s floating and springs/warps are placed sensibly. No dead ends here either, too.
The eyecandy could have been a lot better. There are all the usual carrots, vines, more carrots and large plants but otherwise, it’s quite boring. Try experiementing more with layers nxt time, it’ll look much better.
Weapons placement in Rockingham Garden really great. There aren’t too much nor too few ammo and they’re placed in a decent manner around the lvl.
Overall, this is probably the best first-try lvl I’ve ever seen (not that I’ve seen many ;-) so I’ll give Rockham Garden an 8 and a big good luck to Merilyn on his (or her?) later lvls.
Cheers,
White Rabbit.
First of all, I had never seen such a clumsy dialog:
Ping 0ms?
Why did the character editor return an error? Btw, it can be much more enhanced.
The pathset.exe… well… shouldn’t exist… You’re complicating the things unnecessarily.
I also got a 252164ms (!) ping… Kinda odd… Not to mention sometimes the servers had no uptime…
Oh… and… It showed ‘teri’ on the version field… A sort of strange version… btw, it was a 1.24 x server…
To sum up, this program shows potential but it is way too buggy. I prefer Jazztool…
Such a cute set doesn’t deserve to stay review-less :)
This is a nice set, with everything a wizard has. Not enough stuff for platforms, but great eyecandy.
6,5, download now, very original.
I generally liked this level pack, except maybe for Ext-Morse, Deep-Rage, and ForceDraw. Some of the eye-candy is mediocre, but most of it is good. I think I like ShockWave and 12 hour Tea (even though the BG sux in 8-bit; I play that w/o a textured BG) the most. IMO, I think you should make more levels that are like Slab Ratz.
This perhaps is not what I expected, but it’s still good and worth a download.
Wowa! This Rocks!
It’s a very nice battlelevel. The best is the Gameplay. There are nice orginal ideas like a warp next to 2 v-poles. Only bad things are:
- The music, it’s no carrotus music.
- Some things are a bit confusing.
The eyecandy is nice, but too much on some places. All right, Shocko. Here, a 8 for this rockin’ carrots.[This review has been edited by Taz]
Hey man i love your tileset!!!! Thats Y i give it a 9!!
This is a rather good battle level, that, indeed, uses the Carrotus tileset. It contains one or two original ideas (and you thought everything possible with Carrotus had been done) and I like it.
The design is fine, no really annoying onstacles or anything. A few things might be familiar, such as the seeker warp in Battle1 appears slightly modified, but it’s fun nonetheless.
It’s easy to move around, except once or twice it’s kind of unclear what’s solid.
The eyecandy’s fine, nothing special, except for a lot of tile bugs. Carrotus levels often have tile bugs, it seems.
Edit: It has come to my attention there is a level in my cache made before I got this, called “tommk1”, made by Tom MK. It seems to be the same level, except this has more stuff. Did you make this level, Merlyn?[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
i love it. It has good textures, as piccolo said. The mountains…..i find very nice. they look like something Blade would make. and…..uh……i love it. get it.
Yay! Thanx for dedicating this to me! n.n
This level is nice!
It has good weapon placement and the gameplay rocks too!
The others already said everything… :P
Download this NOW.
@JoJo: btw, thx for the “lovely” :)
Ugh. You can’t even see where you are going.
Checkers for a background, no eyecandy at all, and it’s painful to even think about the level.
From what I see about the bouncers and the pepper spray is maby Paintballs?
This tileset is really cool. I thought that the gold lady was your girlfriend
The tileset would have been even better with a little more backgrounds, and a little more eye candy. The music is good. I bet you must have spent a long time making thise tileset.
Thanks for this tileset – I look forward to the next that you make. I rate these 8.7
