oh well, this is a sad day. exactly two years ago a friend of my bro, and
me
and my bro started this little project. we and esspecially me, we worked
dozens of hours on it...but i wanted it to be perfect so it never got
finished.
level 2, 3 and 6 are pretty much done and already playable.
same with my bro's multiplayer levels ("chemistry corner" and "prison
party"), which should be fully playable.
in the other SP levels you will probably get stuck. if so, please use the
"jjnext" cheat to continue.
there was a lot more cool stuff to come that is not included in this
beta version (because it wasnt really finished). maybe i'll release it with
another beta version someday.
it was obviously too much. here is the beta version, hope you like it a
bit.
also remember that the credits are completely unfinished and so are the
greetings there and also here in the readme, you know who u are anyways :)
the level to start with is bbc.j2l.
also, dont forget to check out the cool episode file. it starts with level
2,
btw. anyways, shouts to all you cool jazzers (and thanks to SHAD for some
stuff i needed for this episode!).
Aiko (also in the name of Renko and
Sliser).
and here is the unfinished readme, written last year (slightly altered):

It's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

 Hey Jazzers,

Blues Brother Comeback (BBC) is both, six new tilesets and a small
homecooked
(or maybe not so-homecooked) single player episode for Jazz Jackrabbit 2.
The sets feature every single tile that was used by Titus for their
famous DOS-EGA-Game "Blues Brothers". Thats why we were able to re-create
the whole "Blues Brothers" game, that was originally released ten
years ago in 1991, including all six levels...

 - Introby Aiko

 - The Storeby Sliser
 - The Chemicals Factoryby Aiko
 - The Prisonby Aiko
 - Clarification Plantby Aiko
 - The Building Siteby Aiko
 - The End Level (Cinema)by Aiko

 - The Endby Aiko

The Intro level includes most of the original graphics of the good ole
Titus version. Unfortunately, we started to make the single player
episode
in TSF JCS, so you can only play it using TSF (V. 1.24). But well, who
cares? :-)
The multiplayer levels are all made with 1.23 JCS, don't ask
us why. We're just weirdos :-)
All tilesets are also made with the 1.23 JCS so feel free to make
lots of levels by using them with the 1.23 JCS.
We also included the following multiplayer maps for games over
the Internet (one level for each tileset):

 - Store Sweep / Tileset 1 / Battle / 100*50 tiles / Sliser
 - Chemistry Corner / Tileset 2 / Battle / 100*50 tiles / Renko
 - Prison Party / Tileset 3 / CTF / 100*50 tiles / Renko
 - Furry Filter Bed / Tileset 4 / Treasure / 100*50 tiles / Aiko
 - Building Biz / Tileset 5 / CTF / 100*50 tiles / Aiko &
Renko
 - Cinema Chase / Tileset 6 / Race / 100*50 tiles / Aiko

     "No, ma'am. We're musicians."

- time of work that were put into all this: more than 100 hours!
(understatement of the week! it really ate A LOT of time, believe us!)
...more than 1000(!!!) screenshots were needed.
...we had to place more than 50.000 single tiles.

- the "movie" effect idea is taken from Bartman's awesome epsiode
"Agent Jackrabbit". Thanks a lot, even if you answered my (Aiko's) e-mail
  a bit too late :-)

- it could seem that i stole some ideas (credits, ladders) from Kejero's
brilliant episode "Tomb Rabbit", but i tell you, i DiD NOT!
The main parts of BBC were already finished when TR was released :-)

- actually i wanted to sort all the tilesets and clean everything up a bit.
But i was too lazy :-)

- in some very very few cases i had to copy and paste some tiles
to some border areas of the level because i wasnt able to reach and
screenshot them. I'm sorry but its only a very very few places.
I think even most Blues Brothers hardcore fans won't notice it :-)

- also, some very few objects are available in two versions
(one with transparent background, one without)

- Abandonware lives forever! At least in our hearts. Titus rocks!

- nothing in this pack is bigger than 64 kb and im pretty proud of that.
  i wish there was a 64 kb compo (01d$k001!!! :-)
  By the way:
The real "Blues Brothers" game has about 1 MB...BBC not even 500 KB :-)

- Vive La France! parce qu'il a fait cette jou! :-)

- i (Aiko) need only 30 minutes to play thru' the whole "Blues Brothers"
game
(and about 15 minutes to play this episode for J2)

if you want to see the orignal (awesome) game, check one of those
