Version 6.6e of JJ2+ is now available!
This update tries to make JJ2+‘s built-in server list more competitive with GIP scripts. Features like spectator mode are useful but can make it harder to know whether a server actually has anyone playing in it, especially dedicated servers with dedicated spectators.
6.6e introduces some new options to make this all much clearer. Here’s an example of a server with one real human player (Jazz), one bot, one spectator (a JJ1 Beholder), and room for one more client to join.
Don’t like this style? That’s okay, there are plenty of different styles to choose from using the F9 key. One way or another, if you want, it can be much easier to find the servers that have humans who can play JJ2 with you. Discussion here.
Want to know which humans are in a server? Or what level they’re playing? Hold down the Tab key for a fully detailed view of each server, inspired by this 2007 hoax from cooba.
