It’s been a little while since the Fortnite arcade machine, and now it’s time for Jazz’s biggest, squarest cameo yet:

Spotted in the trailer for a new Fortnite season, Jazz Jackrabbit appears as a “sprite,” which seems to be a kind of backpack that gives players some special ability. In this case, wearing Jazz as a backpack seems to give players a double jump, a nod to the most common move in Jazz Jackrabbit 2’s online multiplayer.
(The player is also seen wielding an “8-Bit Shotgun“, which resembles a Gravis Gamepad only by vague coincidence, but the gun and sprite seem to be unrelated.)
Jazz is prominently featured among other sprites in Epic Games’ promotional images, though it remains to be seen whether he will be a permanent feature of the game. The rest of the trailer seems to feature Duke Nukem in a large crossover with many other video game characters, including Sonic and Tails who are also being added as sprites.
Jazz can be seen blinking and doing other idle animations in the trailer, although making him rectangular brings to mind the square-headed Jazz from 2010’s iOS demo. But it does mean you can potentially buy a plush doll, complete with AI marketing copy, from one of many suspicious looking websites that clone and recolor PersonalityGiftShop.
