Featured downloads will return

Soon enough you’ll see more of those long news posts with cool screenshots. At first we’ll deal with a small backlog of downloads from the past few months that haven’t been featured, somehow.

There will be some small changes to how the featured downloads are done, too. Expect it to be more rewarding all together!

The way featured downloads are currently done does seem rather silly. Maybe just flag especially noteworthy uploads as “featured” when they’re found? That’s what a lot of other sites do.

also i have to say i havent been capable of tagging files for a fucking year. so if you ban someone from doing something, could you atleast remember to unban?

Snooze: Your reviewing priviledges were taken away after you posted another (I don’t even know, the fifth already?) useless drunk/insulting review. Check again in about a week, or less/more.

I don’t know who took away your tagging permission, or why, so I’m going to leave it for the time being. Keep in mind that the ability to tag pictures is disabled globally, not just for you.

cooba: Writing a short feature on the frontpage isn’t silly, but doing it for one upload per month feels like a waste; often several great uploads appear in a month, or everything uploaded in a month is crap.

Snooze: I honestly can’t remember whether I was the one who took your tagging privileges or not. Either way, I’ve restored your download tagging ability, don’t abuse it.
