Thanks everyone! great to hear all your good stuff, as I said it’s one of my first and I don’t like SP much so give me 10s if you want to expect more :P
Comments:
-This level is very easy for Jazz and Spaz.
-Good for beginners in JJ2.
-Not at all hard,I found it So easy to the point of boring.
-I don’t know if you intended to make only one level beacause it was a bit short.
Suggestions:
-It needs a bit more Originality.
-Make it a bit longer or make more levels of the sort is my last suggestion.
Cya!
Pros:
Very good use of the tileset.
Decent enemy placement, and good use of Stop Enemies.
The Nope, it is only one level.j2l is very original. I like it.
Cons:
One or two tile bugs.
No puzzles! :(
It’s a little too easy.
Could use with more eyecandy.
Right it is powerful level. They are 4 unfinnish!
-To easy
-Nope name
-ENDEPIC no NOPE, IT IS ONLY ONE LEVEL
-Use more leyers.
Keep it doing ;D
This is a good level, not toooo easy, but not too hard, even though I died once ( with one heart left, I jumped to get to the checkpoint, missed, and got bitten by a fish, and I died ) The level isn’t too big, but isn’t too small, the level is well balanced, the eye candy is ok, but not anything extrordanary, the enemy placement is good, average, but could do with afew more! Um, the level could do with a name like, um, The Wabbits of the Aztec, or somthing completely original like, Aztec lev1 :p
>Good job Nitro
now to the sure Rewive:
This level looks good, you should make it longer and add Endepis instead ‘‘Nope this is only one level’‘
These things would give you a higer rating :P:
-Make more layers
-Name the level
-Make it harder by Change:
Remove Full Energy for a single +1 energy, Make more Tuf turts, remove Savepoint.
If you want to make the level hard also, it took me 1,5 min. to find all sercets, kill all enemies, and complete the level.
Ok, Good.
But not to Good.
Pretty cool, but if you just putted some vines away.
The eyecandy was good, I like detailed lvls.
And its fun to play in. I beated my sister like a hundred times ;p
F.quist did the fore and background layers and I think they (on purpose or not) havewierd speeds that make me for one VERY dizzy and sick.
You can disable them my checking Low Detail in the Video menu.
Not bad, though i could do without the vines in the foreground. Nothing much speacial in the level (But thats not a BIG concern). In my opinion theres too MUCH eyecandy in this level.
Though i HIGHLY recommend downloading this level!
The layout is not THAT bad. ;p
And the eyecandy is supposed to be almost flawless, I worked a long time at removing all kind of glitches, as psych is far from the easiest tileset.
Now that I look at it, Nitro, the foreground speed IS a bit irritating. The background speed is normal.[This review has been edited by Fquist]
This level shows that it’s hard to create interesting levels with the tileset. This level is IMO kinda boring, it has some ammo, not too much, much empty space, and no sewers (too bad). 5,2, and no download recommendation. Sorry, Nitro.
yea there is a reason why colony isnt used much, this level is an example. if your gonna make a battle level make it special cause there are so many out there.
A battle level with the same name as one of the official Single Player levels…:D
The playability was pretty decent. Most places were accesible. Some places weren’t (as Jazz, it is kinda hard to jump over some walls. And there were no springs there!).
Weapon placement was good. They respawn a bit quick, but since this is a small blast-it-away-on-someone-level, you will quickly run out of them…
Only one carrot in the level, so expect people to die quick, better put up that roast count!
Use of tileset: could have been better. The houses look almost superb, there are some small errors to spot. The author hardly used any of those fine background walls, and most streets look empty…too bad.
Level is decent. Gameplay is decent. Eyecandy is not that good. Fun: awesome!
Good cure for a day of stress!
Overall: a 6.7, battle fans should get it, others might want to try it once.
Wow, Colonius. Don’t see many levels with that tileset. Pity.
Well, getting down to business…
This is a very solid Battle level, easy to get around in (something my own levels are said to lack ;)). Spring usage doesn’t seem excessive at all. I would actually call it pretty conservative.
Weapon placement is good, and there’s plenty of them.
there are a few graphical glitches, but most of these are minor (I didn’t see them until my second run through the level, but then I was looking for them).
One of these glitches is a little less-than-minor however (to me at least).
(the following deal with the background layers):
At the lowest point in the level, you can see below the buildings in the back. Also, if you walk to the right of the level, you will scroll all but one of the buildings off screen.
The scrolling problem is easy to correct (select the “Tile Width” option in the Properties menu for that layer), but the seeing beneath the buildings one was a bit harder to fix (I took the liberty of checking this out in JCS).
The glitch is partially due to the way Colonius is made. The background buildings are next to impossible to edit. However, I managed to extend the length of the building by a few tiles, enough to remove this glitch. Actually, this traded one glitch for another. One of the tiles is now a little out of place. Still, this is a much more subtle problem, and throughout most of the level this can’t even be seen.
I’ll send you my “fixed” copy so you can take a look at it.
One other thing, which isn’t really a problem so much as it’s just puzzling, was the inclusion of a set of seeker blocks with no apparent purpose…
Anyways, otherwise this is a nice level. I can see having a few roast-fests here.
~Buster
Hehe, I’ll rename to Colonial Chaos and you can have Colonius Chaos.
This lvl isn’t that bad! (Even though I’m giving this an 4.7.)
OK, let’s get started:
Hogland is quite a small battle lvl using the overused Carrotus tileset. It’s got good gameplay and weapons placement and I couldn’t find any bugs. The lvl however, does lack eyecandy and springs and some of the platforms are badly placed making this lvl most Jazz unfriendly. There isn’t anything special with the lvl too making it very boring. If you could just add some fun stuff like MCEs/SCEs, flippers, poles and more eyecandy and fix the Jazz unfriendlyness, my rating could easily be raised to an 6.7
But for now on, this lvl only deserves an 4.7 and no download recommendation either.
Cheers,
White Rabbit.
yea what Unknown said. not really good. no download recommendation.[This review has been edited by Wild Bill]
As far as I can tell, this doesn’t have anything to do with Hogs. It also needs more springs. There are plants, but they’re in a layer 5. Also no other eyecandy.
The layout is nothing spectacular, and as I said, it needs more springs. No powerups, so this could pass as a not that good GT level. Except for maybe the carrot part, which I don’t remember seeing.
I’m giving this a 5.0, plus .2 for the stupid name.
yawn
(I hope it was the yawning that caused you to give this unacceptably low score. Rating removed. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
