The program is great, good for listening to musics and joining games. Though I did find it annoying that it didn’t work on Windows 2000. Oh well, 9.2.[This review has been edited by Blackraptor]
This program is useful. Never leave home without it. ;P
Useful program, you cant host with it though. Its simple and easy.
I havent got the time for a long reivew, and the review I did before was biased, plus overated. These levels, though they are small and simple, are quite good. But even though there are lots of them, they still arent as good as some single levels such as Marshland of Evil and all those. They are still ok and you should see them, but they are very small and simple. Creative names though….[This review has been edited by Blackraptor]
Another school by I am Canadian. Like i dont have enough homework. To little guns though, maybe they’ve been banned from the school. =P
Ceil and his evily good CTF levels
As promised, Violet. Here is your 9 for the outrageous level.
P.S. There is a diamondus conversion, I have it, the original one. Ill email it to you if you need it that much.[This review has been edited by Blackraptor]
Edit: Making more and more levels with this, I realize I underestimated this, now for my long review.
Backround: Nice, the orginal blue tube nippius backround was inlcuded. but Violet also took the time and effort to make a tectured backround for us to use. The backround (blue tubes) is the one i mostly use becuase i just feel that and original jj1 tileset should have the original backround.
Important objects: I cant complement violet enough, he added in destruct scenery, suckers, poles etc, and they werent even in the tileset, so again, a comment for this great conversion. It also has arrows, which can come to be very useful in some situations, and as far as I could tell, included every tile in the actual nippius planet, and even added extra tiles even if he didnt have to.
Animations: Violet went overboard with this, to much, but that is a good thing, because animations spiff up the level, most of them here are small and can barely be seen, but so far, this is the no 1. level for most amount of animations, and that is one of the good points.
Floor, walls ceiling etc.: Violet included every floor wall ceiling and stuff like that. This tileset can be used inmany ways. It can be used for outside, in a snow cave, in a frozen solid house like place, or in a snow brick place, or a mix. This is another very good point, since your level doesnt get boring as fast with different scenery.
Everything else: Lets see um, what else ot say except wow, this is a very needed conversion that goes beyond, and ia the best conversion on j20, (not for long since I hear violet is spiffing up a turttemple one which will probably be even better.
My conclusion: A big, a fat, a generous 9.2, congratulations, also a download recc. for the best conversion this community has evah seen. W00t for violet. yeah.
Phew, long review deserves a break[This review has been edited by Blackraptor]
Unfortunately, this stinks
Thats all I will say
No download reccomendation
It has good eyecandy, good gameplay, one slight problem. ITS to to to to short. Other than that its great
Why so low Wild bill, it isnt that bad…..
Nice, I thought it was a jj2 tileset at first, but its a good program
To lazy, no review today
^original review, in 2002 (orig. rating 8)
Now for the new and IMPROVED (I feel like one of those IKEA people in commercials when I say this):
The tileset seems interesting. Doesn’t really have much of a theme to it (seems like random tiles are just put into it) except maybe some beach type place. Some tiles are drawn good (I like the sand) but the majority have a rather grainy feel to it (Take the fire animation as an example). Certain tiles also feel rather useless (And what’s up what all the flags? =P). The set also seems to have the necessities (vines, destruct blocks, signs, tiles, etc).
Overall, the set is nice, but a lot of tiles don’t go along too well together and quite a bit of them could be redrawn and made better. Its usable and could make some nice levels, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Rating is a 7.5
Download Reccomendation.
Ok, guys, need help.
When I click, everything is okay, it opens. Then I do retrieve list servers, yes it shows them, then when I click to join, nothing happens. Also, when I try hosting, by clicking the button start new server, nothing happens as well? As soon as I fix this I will rate this program
Never mind, problem fixed[This review has been edited by Blackraptor]
To……..tired………….to………….review………..read……….review………of………AIKO.
Well, ill summarize my review
Placement of stuff: Enemy placement was generally good. The author managed to find the right difficulty and the placement was generally ok. There were errors, but it was good. Food placement was sparce, took me quite a while to get a sugar rush. Also, the springs were placed well, some good combinations used etc. I found some trigger block errors (when you stomp the crate in crab coral, all blocks except one go away). True, that wasnt a nuisance, but i just felt like mentioning it. Also, the placement made the level fun, i like how the water slowly dropped and rose, when it rose i pretended i was on a ship that was slowly sinking. =P Anyways, fun and creative placement.
Layout/Tile Placement: Not much errors, great placement, the author sure seemed to know what he was doing. Soem tiles didnt go with others, but it was obvoius that the author had a good imagination and stuff.
Music: Fits the level, not my favorite music though. Sometimes got annoying, but nothing really specail.
Eyecandy: Ok, your basic eyecandy here, nothing here that really makes me say OMG COOL, but its better than average. Some levels had way cool eyecandy like the muskeeto mania (i think he spelled musquito on purpose :)) But most levels are average or a bit above average.
Creativity: Some levels are very creative, like the beach one, i liked that mast idea etc. That lava thing in the first level was good as well, lots of creativity.
Good things: TONS of creativity, just the right amount of difficulty as well.
Bad things: A few errors in enemy placement, levels not too long, i got stuck in some places.
Comments: Well, the levels are all great, but the placement of goodies is sparce, and the levels are to short. Some interesting MCE’s used in some levels (in crates) and some cool stuff as well. Enemy placement was good enough for me. So was the eyecandy.
OVERALL: Creativity 9/10, Placement 7/10, Music 8/10, Eyecandy 7/10, other 9/10. Overall about 8.2 or something but ill be nice and give it an 8.5. The levels are very fun and detailed, but lack lenght and some other stuff. A nice pack, download reccomendation. I hope i didnt miss anything out, this review was kinda “rushed” because of lack of patience. =(
