this is pretty damn good, only 2 things i would change:
2:29 where it starts playing the normal 1 but faster doesn’t really go, i would have cut the sped up intro bit out and had it continue on a bit more smoothly
should have added some more instruments in to make it a bit busier
Ok, interesting track, but it’s not a techno track, it’s like Euro-trance or Euro-dance.
Not bad, but not becouse you work, but because the original artist. Let’s see what you have made:
- Faster tempo
- Kick drum & claps & others for the 4/4 beat
- A bouncing bass line
Sorry, but this is not too much for a remix. Now this 5.5 is the rate of your work, not the original melodies and things. Yes, I think you need much work on a remix, if you would make another ones…
Very interesting idea. As a fellow Sonic-level tileset maker (I’m working on a Hidden Palace one, which I hope will be the best out there), I know my stages quite well.
One major gripe I have is it screams ‘JPG’. Now, there IS a way to fix that, and that’s by downloading one of the recent versions of Sonic 2 Delta. The patches can be found with a search for “Sonic 2 Delta”, but be warned, the proper site will be in Portuguese. Yep, this guy actually put Dust Hill into the game, and it looks REALLY nice. And if you really feel you need those wooden ledges, rip ‘em from Mystic Cave.
Tiles look pretty well planned, though I can’t see an entire level being planned with just what’s there.
The music’s nice, but if you like, I can send an Oil Ocean Zone XM (this is the same music Esrael uses in his hack).
It appears that in order to make certain parts like you did, you have to reverse the tiles. Ease of use takes a hit there.
But like the score says, the idea makes up for it. I can’t wait to see a V2 of this.

I would call this soft techno.
I like techno too.
I like JJ2 music too.
Its good to your ear.
Good. This IS re-mix of music.
I heard some remixes where music isn´t remixed , only speeded.I like techno, i like JJ2 music But this music isn´t compatibile with diamondus tileset.- this is too fast music for diamondus. But is good
Please, if you really want to make an actual remix, don’t rip off so much content from the very thing you’re remixing. You’ve copied and pasted every instrument and note from the original Diamondus tune, doubled the tempo, and thrown in drums with the occasional original part. Not impressive, in my opinion. Feel free to prove me wrong, but I’m going by what I hear. At least the drums were actually pretty well done.[This review has been edited by Scizor CT]
It sounds like it has a rip from the menu song and tubeletric one..
I like the first part, I love techno ;p
A bit too fast for me though..
by the way, I didn’t use ANY tubelectric samples in this remix, so…
It’s a mix between the original Tubelectric music and the Diamondus 1 music. I don’t like it too much.
But, nice idea, though…
When I try to start it appear that theres no tileset! please reupload it whit them.

I’ll just quote what Unknown said:
“This is an interesting idea with a bad level backing it up. The tileset is used well, but the level itself makes me think about waiting for the author to try this again.”
Also, on the third level, not only can one of the people with the shields get all the powerups, but the person with all the powerups can get to one of the shields (via Electro blaster)
So, Nice consept, just work on the level a bit more. I would like to see all the start pos seperated, so that everyone doesn’t start in the same place, and there ar a few dead-ends in the battle, which is not a good thing.
All seven of the points are for the concept.

Well, I Do happen to have the tileset, and thus am not forced to give meaningless reviews like “foo”.
TILESET/TILESET USE: The author uses his own (I believe) Dust Hill Zone tileset, which is some sort of mythical Sonic area. Or something like that. Anyway, it is used well, as you might expect, though I still can’t say I approve of how much flipping and layer 5 is required to use the tileset.
Pros: Everything looks good.
Cons: No background eyecandy.
Rating: 7.5
WEAPON/ITEM PLACEMENT: This really varies between the levels. In level 1, there is nothing but fastfire and a blaster powerup, which are placed reasonably well. In level 2, there’s ammo and food, but not enough ammo, and too much food. Not all that strategically placed, either. As for the third level, it’s like the first level, only there’s a ton of powerups for one of the players (I might add that one of the shield players (if not more.. I didn’t check this too throughly) can steal some, if not all, of said powerups. That’s right, you get shields (usually) when you join or respawn.
Pros: The Blaster stuff is placed well, and this section. is obviously the main idea behind these levels.
Cons: Sadly, it’s not carried out too well, what with bugs and problems with the normal ammo.
Rating: 7.0
ORIGINALITY: I can’t decide if this is original or not. On the one hand, it’s just a remix of other stuff, but on the other, it does seem newish.
Pros: None.
Cons: None.
Rating: N/A
GAMEPLAY/DESIGN: The level is divided into two horizontal halves (there’s no dividing wall or anything, it just IS). The left side is a flat (ok, there are lots of slopes, but it’s still just flat) sandy surface. The other side is in the temple or whatever, and has a little more variety, but not much. There are also a whole lot of horizontal springs. As for gameplay, it looks like it could vary significantly depending on who is playing. Some people may choose to hide somewhere with the shield and then attack everyone with the blaster powerup, others may decide the whole thing is too weird and slink off to another server. Or not. Still, it should make for some interesting play, which I may or may not try to verify.
Pros: Interesting. Looks like fun gameplay should be had by some.
Cons: I can’t say I care for the design.
Rating: 7.0
REPLAY VALUE: Well, there are three different versions of the level (Beta probably being the worst), so in addition to the multiple strategies, you can play this several times, doing something new each time. Afterwards, feel free to just have some fun with your old favorites. That sounded like a tourist pamphlet.
Pros: See above.
Cons: Few.
Rating: 8.2
OVERALL (still not an average): This is an interesting idea with a bad level backing it up. The tileset is used well, but the level itself makes me think about waiting for the author to try this again.
Pros: Looks fun, good tileset use.
Cons: The level is just dull.
Rating: 7.2

A MUST-download!_
Sorry, but i didnt like it very much.
Cool , good work proximus. the beat is very good , so good that you this need all jj2 fan’s need it! this is a must !!! i love this music NWCRYST and this is the best music ever! from jj2, that mean i than.
COOL! I love techno! And this one is a GOOD techno!
Okay, first review in my new rating revolution. So, here it is:
Hmm… Pretty nicely beated, faster version Diamondus with nice, 30 second introduction… Nothing more. We have all samples except those some beats original, arrangement too.
This music is primary dedicated for levels, thanx to the speed it’s pretty good for them. It could be very useful in fast Diamondus battle levels. But I am afraid of that nowhere else.
(+) Funky Techno Diamnondus sounding fitting at the music
(+) Good for (battle) levels
(-) Nothing except beats wasn’t changed and it’s not so better than original.
In this case, I am not competent to give download recommendation, if searching some music for your Diamondus battle level. If you like amateur soft-techno, then you could try this. In other cases, hands out.
I like this a lot, though it sounds kind of ‘empty’.
