Well the tileset itself is ok
I only wouldnt be able to make serious levels with it
I esspeccially like the background
btw I also noticed some masking bugs like the bottom of the pole.
Awesome tileset!!!! I LOVE THE SMOKING JAZZ’s THE PIMP SPAZZ’s AND THE …..the animal thing…..uhhhh….beaver? yah well I LOVE IT ALL
Whew!! Another tileset masterpiece from my homelands.
The very colourful “Discofever” tileset contains 400 tiles showing situations from the weekend night life on Carrottus (i guess:-)…Spaz as DJ, Jazz dressed mafia style and smoking and, of course, Jazz, Spaz, Lori and a beaver that wants to be John Travolta dancing like crazy (those animations really rock! Good work!). Apart from that, there are a lot of useful level structures and objects like this reflecting disco thing (my english vocabulary really sucks), semi-transparent lights, walls, stone, stairs and so on…too much to list here.
I only miss some girls and/or drinks :-)
mirrow also included a nice little single player example level in the ZiP archive. It’s quite short, has an okay design and good eyecandy but otherwise nothing really spectacular. Still, it gives a good overview of the elements and the capabilities of the tileset (and that was the purpose).
Apart from that i think that the black and white version (which doesn’t look exactly good) of the tileset is pretty useless (like the 8 bit version of the level, too). The masking is well done, as far as i can see it while i’m testing, and the music fits great (i prefer custom music for custom tilesets, though).
Conclusion: very good tileset, esspecially if you like bright colours and 80s disco feeling (it really is a bit like that). I even fear hotel makers will love this set :-) Anyways, “Discofever” is A MUST DOWNLOAD FOR EVERYONE.
P.S.: “JJ2 community. Stay alive!!!” -> i like that wall painting.[This review has been edited by Aiko]
Very good tileset, at all I think it’s a bit small, but I like it, u did well making the rabbits of the game Dj’s and stuff like that.
Yes, very good work. :)
It’s really cool, especially the dancing rabbits… i got no time for the rest but ill just give it an 8.7
Good work!
Firstly, this tileset gets the rating it deserves. Maybe a 8,5 could be good.
Wow. I looked the tileset one second and made my decision. This is the best tileset of Mirrow. The discoland looked extra-cool, but the problems with the warpbackground. Mirrow, visit (http://tc101.nagcentral.com). A great site for learning stuff. The Jazzes and Spazes all around the level were funny, and the stuff for layers 5-7 were cool.
Great tileset! You will be remembered as a great tileset artist.
Thx for rating guys …
PLz rate the next review higher for this set i wanna get a 8.7 :P hehe
I think that the tileset is pretty good (where did you get those dancing jazz tiles, mirrow?). I think it would be good for crazy party levels as Inf.Spaz had said, but if you dont include iny discoey stuff into the level, it would make a good street battle level.
I give you a 8 (whew! that was long!)
Contrary to the others I think that this tileset isn’t that great as others make it seem.It is nice for crazy party levels but nothing more.
Its one of the best tilesets than i seen.
Very cool.
This tileset gets a very high score from me, and it sure deserves it. This tileset is based in evil disco land, and even though I hate that place more than anything in the world, it makes a cool tileset and level. I may actually use this tileset, just because it is so cool.
The only thing wrong with the tileset is that the textured background does not fully work.
Download this now.
Mirrow’s tileset package is actually pretty good. Mirrow has spent lots of time with the pack, it can be seen easily. But, copying graphics is never good. The city tileset’s background was taken from Mez’s set. But it is understandable. Sets are hard to make (good ones especially). The music is good. They fit in the levels just fine.
Download recommendation from me. Understood? Download!
Okay editing my other review went wrong so im adding one (sorry about that ill try to delete the other later)>
I like the tileset, I think its the first with a theme like this!
Its easy to use as is said in the description. It also looks cool enough and I didnt check all the files, but I think it has enough variation for a long level.
A good ol’ 6.7 from me!
Is this the army level you put up like… yesterday or so ???
If it is ill review it in a while.
Really cool music and tilesets, but the tilesets are a little small. Keep up the GOOD work hae!
Great!
The Jungle set consists of a fine array of tiles.
The Castle set is my favourite. It contains everything you need for a blue castle.
Though I am a sucker for city tilesets, I think in this last tileset the author could have used a little less plagiarsim.
The goody-goody part:
I defnitley am impressed with these tilesets. Nice textures, given a 3D look by impressive shading. There are lots of features and different areas to the tilesets too. Also some nice layered features on the background makes it look extra nice :)
The icky-wicky part:
Some graphics are taken from somewhere else, and it is very obvious. Anti-aliasing on that dodge made it look extremely bad. The least you could do was fix that. I know to do so is oen of the most painful experiences on planet earth. I know ALL about fixing the censored anti-aliasing (ask stripe about that). The textured background doesn’t work (I assume that because it wasn’t textured in the example levels), but in some sets nice layering can hide that.
Some personal comments:
The fact that some of you wanted to rate the example levels as part of the pack DISGUSTED me! I actually found it offensive. This has been uploaded as a TILESET and example levels shouldn’t change the rating at all. The only way it would change the rating is if there was no example level included. Seriously, there might be some people who are very talented at drawing tilesets and less talented at making levels, and that doesn’t make them deserve a low rating for spending so much time drawing something!
Please, if you are a tileset maker that can’t make the best of levels, do NOT hesitate to ask me to make one for you. I would be more than glad to help out. No credit even needs to go to me, it still would be your tileset.
Hmmm, maybe I went a little harsh on my comments, but I think you get the general idea.
thats one pretty nice pack o’ tilesets!
especially the one in the city (hmm i wonder where i parked my car…)
the jungle one is good too, altough its not really a junglem its much more a wood thing, but oh well a real jungle tileset already exists, right?
the castle lvl is VERY good too…im really looking forward for some more lvls made with it :)
Great tilesets
looks good
easy to make a lvl with
I order U to download this ;P
Great tilesets.
And I like the test levels too.
I give it a 8,2
