Another great level by martin. "Fright Night CTF" has an epical storyline (well, a few lines in the readme ;-), a very good layout, many interesting details (try to find out everything!) and some attractive eyecandy. It uses the TSF "Haunted House" tileset which is quite difficult to use.
Summary: You should really add this to your best levels collection!
P.S.: TSF JCS is better >:-)
Hmm, Wakeman did give three stars here? Not me…sorry.
Everything from eyecandy to layout is not more than average. The trigger events are nice, tho.
Download or not? No idea, decide for yourself, its nothing special.
Another well made level from Germany ;-). The use of trigger events here is quite cool and it has much eyecandy.
Only bad thing is that its kinda small. Anyways, i really recommend to download "Deep Jungle II"!
I was undecided between 7 and 8, lets say its 7.6.
"GameCreators Temple" is a pretty good battle level that makes use of the Temple tileset by EvilMike.
There’re a lot of warps (too many?), some eyecandy and a nice temple layout. Oh, and by the way: if you dont like the chip tune-like background music,
blame it on me, ‘cause i suggested to use it :-) Overall, its a good battle and surely worth a download.
Okay, i’ll break my own laws: 9 points for this AWESOME multiplayer battle pack from South Africa. Two of my very favourite level/tileset guys put their work together (which is a good idea) to make this SUPERB pack.
Eyecandy and design in all of the five levels are just perfect. The selection of tilesets (MHZ, Neonius, Mez1+3, Dats1) and background music is unquestionable brilliant.
Well, what else to say? "ZAs Good Side" just rocks. To conclude my comments, i’d like to say that this is one of the best levelpacks i ever played. Keep up the great work, Dis and Dats! THiS iS A MUST-DOWNLOAD!
P.S.: I didnt hear music in "Trancestruct". Well, doesnt matter cause the level is so cool.
Carrots? Well they’re nice…but lets focus on your level :-)
Lets see: 1) 5 points are average, 2) in my opinion this is an average level.
The design is okay, but i really miss some eyecandy. So its 5 points this time. Dont worry Newspaz :-)
I was undecided between 7 and 6 points, too. The "triple 7" level pack includes
four very good single player levels using different tilesets and some very loud rock guitar background
music :-) The eyecandy is pretty good and the layout is, as EvilMike stated, very original.
Actually i wanted to give 6 points here because the details of the pack arent okay: for example, none of the levels
has a nextlevel setting (but, isnt it a pack?). Also, you have to download the music in seperate files which isnt a good idea at all.
However, the levels themselves are worth a download.
"Rootop Madness" is another pretty cool CTF level. Paul used the TSF Town tileset which
is quite hard to do but very nice to look at. The background music is "City1g.it" which is one of my favourite J2 music files (Impulse tracker is better :).
Eyecandy and layout in this level are very good so theres really nothing to complain about.
Esspecially CTF fans shouldn’t miss this one -> go ahead and Download!
Actually this is crap. I think "grok2" is a good description for it. Even worse, its a hotel! (Dont ask me about hotels!)
Nevertheless, the level uses a modified "Cool Day" tileset (nice try) and has some wrong placed trigger crates in it.
In the ZIP archive there is also a custom music file that doesnt play in the level. Don’t jam the Internet downloading this.
For being made with evil MS Paint, this tileset really looks good. Actually the colors arent that
tasteful but from another perspective they’re funky.
Another Jazz 2 fan also attached a cool treasure hunt example level with some nice music playing in the background.
Im undecided if to give 6 or 7 points…well, its saturday, sun is shining, the point is yours.
Disgusting, really!
But sorry guys, i give out one extra point for eyecandy and effects! Mwhahaha.
Unfortunately, i was able to open this level. Layer 8 is empty and the rest is totally confusing and crappy.
It has a nice custom music file. But please, do not download this, its completely insignificant.
If stripe would still do his (cool) "Butt ugly level of the week" contest, "JUNGLE2" would be his choice for this week :-)
Agreed Cheeze, but every system that lets people participate needs some basic rules.
For example…
- you are not allowed to rate a level twice
- you are not allowed to give ratings without any sense and/or without giving any proper reasons
By the way: i actually did send you a list of suggestions for the site. But you didnt answer.
P.S.: J2O rules.
"Emerald wafare CTF" is a good level. Really. Everything is fine. Nothing more to say.
Review ends here :-)
A good Capture The Flag level. Eyecandy, layout and everything else is okay. Nothing special though.
Why didnt you make a pack of your two levels?
So the purpose of this site is to make people feel better?
I would like to know the webmasters opinion on that. However, i thought this was
for rating levels/tilesets/etc..
Please dont mess up ratings, FoD.
F quist, Cheeze and Bobby worked hard to get this great rating sytem finished.
Thank you in advance.
Okay, this time Another Jazz 2 fan gets his 7 points. Why? Well, the "Electric Nightmare"
becomes true in this pack which uses the Tubelectric tileset and a cool Jazz 1 music file.
The layout is kinda crazy but very original! I really like it.
"Electric Nightmare" is a single player pack, its not too difficult (actually its too easy :-)
and includes a cool bonus thats also based on an original idea -> you have to collect coins
in different sections of a castle.
My opinion: The old "Electric Nightmare" (its from ’99) is still fun to play, go download it!
Oh, by the way, "Electric Nightmare" doesnt seem to work with TSF. The game quits
with a "Memory allocation error"; maybe you could fix that. No idea :-)
"Another Jazz 2 fan" made a good race pack using all the three famous MEZ sets.
Sometimes the layout is of good quality but then suddenly looses quality in certain places of
the level. For example, invisible H-/V-Poles arent a great idea.
In my opinion the levels are very long (maybe too long) and there are too many sucker tubes and other
stuff you dont need in race levels.
To sum it up: this pack is good and fun to play. All you race & MEZ fans should download it.
P.S.: I really look forward to see the "full version" (the author claims this to be a "demo").
P.P.S.: I am still undecided between 6 and 7 points. Lets say its 6,5 :-)
Huh? This is generating some nice Access Violations (my PC crashed!).
