Here, we have an excellent utility that can convert TSF tilesets into ones that are usable in 1.23 as long as the tileset does not exceed 1023 tiles.
I have tested this with a few TSF tilesets and it actually WORKS! :D
After dragging the .j2t file on top of the “J2T_Converter.exe” file, the tileset is converted within a few seconds!
The only thing I think this could do with is maybe to include an option to overwrite the existing TSF tileset that is in the 1.23 folder with the 1.23 version so that I wouldn’t have to deal with two files. You can also convert more than one tileset at the same time by dragging two or more .j2t files on top of the converter file.
This utility is very useful since you can expand on your vast library of tilesets you already have and make some 1.23 levels with TSF tilesets (only if it doesn’t have more than 1023 tiles) that was not previously possible.
Since the only minor annoyance is the extra file with the “#” that is created I will not be too harsh on the rating. I am going to give this a well deserved 9.9 as I did not encounter any errors when using this utility.
DOWNLOAD NOW!
EDIT: The utility can now overwrite the existing file or you can type in your own text for the new file. The files with the “#” no longer appear, so I’m gonna bump this up to a rating of 10.0!
ah, I didn’t know about that one :P
agreed. Lark’s conversion is by far the best right now.

not to insult you or something, but i actually found this one (link) a lot more impressing.
It was very usefull for me! And it works perfect :D
The time had finally arrived…as now, you don’t even need TSF to play TSF levels anymore. People can now stop compaining that they can’t play an episode because it is TSF (although that rarely happens, as most of the best levels use 1.23 anyway). Now, people who have 1.23 can play almost any level, which is probably one of the best things about this utility.
This is a programme that is useful to everyone, whether you’re somebody who owns 1.23, or somebody who is mainly a TSF level maker such as myself, as now, almost everyone can try almost every TSF level and nobody has a reason to complain.
What is also great about this is that it is very simple to use. All you do is drag and drop a TSF level into the program and it just makes a copy of the level that you can play in 1.23. You don’t have to go into any programmes or do any coding or editing or anything, it is just a matter of click, drag and drop.
Finally, after several tries to fault this programme, the only problems that I can come up with is that you still can’t play levels that use tilesets which exceed the normal tile limit in 1.23, such as levels that use the Mega Metropolis tileset (which has over 4000 tiles, although there is lite version of the tileset anyways). I suppose people may also find dragging and dropping the TSF level as an extra choore just to play it. However, that barely qualifies as a fault with the programme itself, which works almost faultlessly, and this is much better than having to edit the actual level data itself.
I very strongly recommend that everyone who has 1.23, or even people who have both versions of JJ2 download this because this is a very useful tool to try out and use to everyone. This should be hailed as one of the best things ever to hit JJ2.
EDIT: Doesn’t work particularily well with very very large files. I think the 0.5 off the 10 is still enough of a margin, so the rating sticks, and don’t let this put you off downloading it, as it still is a very good programme.
So, as some people might be, the thought of making a TSF map into 1.23 is something you might be skeptical about, seeing as before the only option involved complicated steps through closing windows, redo animations and such and was a real pain.
This program simply put, you drag the file onto the icon and like 2 seconds later its done. This program is the perfect utility and is absoluetly well done. i 100% recommend this as a download for anyone how thinks they could use it, and maybe even those who dont.
Now I would rate this a 10, as there are no glitches, no secret twists, and no plot to end the world. I already know people are going to be all over me for this comment, but here we go. I am not to terribly fond of the adding the “#” after the filename. This is partially impractical, as the number sign appears invisible for online if you are trying to switch to a map, plus the # sign looks a bit ugly. . Overall, i would say the only thing id want changed about this wicked program, is to have it rename the output files like
So in Summary:
GREAT FILE
DOWNLOAD
Now here comes something that everyone has been wanting for years.
What this is
This utility does exactly what it says. It converts any TSF levels into 1.23 levels. It works like a charm, doing it quickly.
Ease of use
This is very easy to use. all you do is drag the TSF level onto the EXE. It will then ask if you want to give it a name or overwrite the original file. After that, you let it run for a second or so and there you go! you can load it up and play it in Jazz2! (as long as you have the tileset)
10/10
Graphics
There’s no graphics to this utility but I’m not going to let that spoil the download. I’m not going to rate part.
Does it work?
YES! This program works like a charm. I’ve converted some levels without problems thanks to the update. there may still be bugs, but non that I can find. If The only way this could be better is if it made candy shoot out of the floppy drive.

Tools like this have been around for a long time. This is the first to be put on j2o though.
I’d like to warn everyone who thinks of using this, of one particularly important fact. Especially because of this comment:
“ I hope evilmike makes some for his single players.”
Too many episode files will cause jj2 to crash on loading the episode menu. Know this before you think of making a custom j2e, and make sure you put a warning in the description of any episode that contains one. Personally, I advise against making one at all.
Because of this fact, I do not, and likely will never use a tool such as this. I had the option of doing so years ago and I deliberately chose against it.
Excellent does what it says it will do , and works 100%. And very easy to use. The only problem with it is the interface , it’s pretty ugly but thats not going to hold back a great programe like this.
So as it says it makes episode pictures on the main single player menu so you ill no longer have to go into home cooked for some of those impressive single players. I hope evilmike makes some for his single players.
Another good thing is if you have not stuck close to the pallete it will auto convert it for you , even tho sometimes arter effects won’t be so good but hey thats the only colours you can use anyway. There isn’t much more to do that simply save the images you made and save them into jj2 as j2e files.
Conclusion
Well it does what it says and it does work , and is a very good feature for any people who enjoy makeing single players , can finally have a image on the main screen of the work. The only thing holding this back a little is the ugly interface. So i reccomend you download this.
@evilmike ,I knew there was one earlyier than this , but maybe you could make some and tell people not to have too many , or maybe a jj2+ fix could sort it out. maybe. It’s still useful.
This is definately an improvement to your previous program. The only bad thing I see so far is the weird text codes. For example: you need to type Shift + the “+=” button to write a “?” and vice versa to write a “_”.
Also, when I click “filename” it doesn`t do anything. But other than that I think it rules supremely above the other one. Mainly also because you had to start all over again on the other one, and that you had no way to edit episodes. Which is BTW also very neat. And i`m not saying that other one wasn`t good or something, I think it was one of the best programs on J2O, it`s just that this is an upgrade to it.
Also the appearance looks at least three time as good. A window with pictures looks way more awesome than only a CMD text box.
So, good? Definately.
DR? Absolutely!
Improvement? HELL YEAH!
hmm… not I like a not bad little program:) useful little program. But you could gloss it drew a small one on the program according to me strange solution you hit home to the making of the program but not bad.Nice Work :)
Doen’t work on 1.24 is said: ACCESS VIOLATION .
[Rating (5.0) clearance. – cooba]
Woops!
First bug, but now it’s fixed ;)
and it should work with 1.24.
It does for me.
And sorry for the bad input system.
The most important letters should work properly though.
