I have a Super Mario tileset, and I think it’s this one… I got it from J2C. I’ve never made a level with it, so I don’t know the masking problemo…
I think u chould stick to making levels tazar.
The first I thought: 7.5
Setback: Used tiles from other tilesets. -1.0
Rating: 6.5
The tileset looks pretty slick :). As the Example level shows, you can use it in great ways. As EvilMike said, it’s not really a forest. More soem kind of a country filled with trees and Stones. I’m not good at rating tilesets so my review is not longer than this. Eat this 6.5
The tileset doens’t really look much like a forest, so this doesn’t get as high of a score. The only problem I can find in it is that the masking on the tops of the trees is a bit compicated, and the same goes with the masking of some walls.
Everything is fine here, so I give it a 6.7. Not a bad score from me.
Wow, a good (demo) level pack. As I’m not much good at reviews at a whole, I’ll look at the level 1 by 1.
Level 1: (Flying Ships.)
At first, I thought I was moving. The ships are well done, a mix between the Mega Battleships from JJ1 and some other good ideas.
The villains are well placed as well. When I finished this, I thought that Tazar must have run out of good ideas after it.
Level 2: (Labrynith Zone, or something)
I was wrong. This level is pretty cool, though not a labrynith. A labrynith is a maze, not a long path. :P
The warning on using 16 bit colors was a good idea, and I liked the look of the level.
Level 3: (Crystalopolis)
A great level. I always like slicers, (though I did not check if they work) and you did a good job with the tileset.
Although I got a little frustrated looking for the key, I like it.
Level 4: (Scrap Brain Zone)
Ooh la la! Wonderful! Not only is the tileset a good choice, but it rings coolness. (I wonder how you got that cat to work)
From the flame jets, to the spike balls, this is a good level. Nice trigger crate work, by the way.
Level 5: (Sky Sanctuary Zone)
You made this tileset? No wonder you did such a good job with it. The tractor beams (Or whatever they are) are cool.
I actually died here once! This doesn’t mean it’s too hard, but it’s harder then the rest. If the full version continues in this tradition, it will be amazing.
Overall: I think I’ll give this… 8.2. It’s not perfect, but it’s very good.
If I haven’t made this plain enough, I’ll just say it. A download recommendation! Yeah!
About time i reviewed this…
Sonic the Hegdehog and Jazz Jackrabbit, how many SP packs have been made with those two together? (don’t answer that)
OK, the 5 levels in this demo are well done, except the labyrinth level, too open. The gameplay is quite easy, finding trigger crates in various places, finding your way through the levels…That’s basicly it.
Since this is a demo, i’ll give it a 7 for now.

Wow! Good level with good ending boss!
Beutyfull eyecandy & ideal music!
But too easy (in hard mode), but long!
One is all I would give this. ??????????????????????????????????????????????
Still What is it for
(Do not rate it if you do not know what it is for. Rating removed. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
Hey!
What is your problem with the masking?
This set is the best mario set of them all!I just finished making a race level with it.However the masking was rather bad. Here is what I think of this set.
Masking:Bad
Tiles:Really cool
Eyecandy:excellent
Conclusion:Very kuel set with bad masking and a couple of bad tiles. This gets an 7.5 from me
Well, “yet another Mario tileset”, you may say. But hey, i’ll promise you this is one of the best you have seen so far!
It contains about 400 tiles that are obviously ripped from the Super Mario Brothers 3 game (no idea, i never owned a console, only emulators :-). Thats why it has all kinds of platforms, tubes, those dangerous snapping plants and some grassy hills.
I have to say that the tileset could have been a bit more optimized (many blank tiles) but thats not really a problem (j2t files are compressed anyways). Oh and the masking could have been improved, too :-)
Otherwise i really like the look of the set. Very colourful and child friendly.
Our hungarian friend also included two nice levels in his ZiP archive: one small example level and one real, long single player map.
The SP level is obviously meant to be an exact copy of a original SMB3 level. If i knew the game, i could prolly confirm that :-) I was truly impressed by the length and the detail work of the level. The music choice was good (“Dreampipes” from Jazz1) and i guess you already knew that i LOVE super 01d5k001ish 16 KB chiptunez like “Super Mario Land” by reflex/m0vement. Good work, tazar!
As you probably noticed, i really like this pack. Therefore it gets a STRONG DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATiON from me. And build some (battle!) levels with it!
You Should Play This.
Some great ideas mixed with good old Jazzy gameplay makes this a truly excellent series of levels.
hmm……..It missed some basic stuff. Like vines.
It’s a real mario level. I kinde like it.
Well done for your first one.

Well well
another mariotileset
tileset is ok
but it could have been much bigger (loadsa empty spaces)
Everything’s ripped from the game smb3
The example levels are well not so good
the tileset is ok though
I also like the musicfile :)
dowload this, well I did didn’t I ;)
I really don’t see what the patch was used for. I did read the readme, I usually always read the readmes. Well I downloaded the patch then the level I guess why do say why this patch was needed.
I rated the level Tazar.[This review has been edited by JJ Tublear]
Great level Tazar, it was really fun. A little too easy though here are the stats.
-I couldn’t find the bug
-Too many carrots
-Secrets too easy to find
-Eye Candy could’ve improved (I looked at the tileset and used it before there is more background tiles).
-Fun!
-Used the rarely used Mad Monster Robotnik boss. (I forgot the Boss’ name)
-Yummy food chosen
-Long
-Worth the download![This review has been edited by JJ Tublear]
30. 30 minutes of fun here.
Beat it without cheating too. (There’s a difference!:) Still gave me a challenge though.
Download This!
Please somebody rate this level!!
This gets an 8 for me!It really rocked!Unfortunatly though I did not have some of the music files because i have 1.22 version of jj2.But that did not really matter to me.Like Aiko said “About 15 min. of pure single player fun“I think you should do more like this in the future tazar.
