Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Online

This level is much better than I expected (I didn’t really like the last level he made). But as good as it is, there were several things I disliked.

GAMEPLAY:

It’s good for all I know. Nothing makes the layout in this level too hard to get around. It’s nice you took that bblair thing, just to make the level unnecessarily evil (I won’t add or take away points for that). The gameplay is not too original, but it will do.

EYE CANDY:

I would say just slightly above average mainly because the BG wasn’t annoying like in the Persian Paradise example level. I didn’t really dislike anything except the way the tubes and those other tiles around the carrot were made. Other than that, the eye candy is pretty good.

CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:

I don’t know exactly how this level will work with the full energy carrot placed so close to the Blue base. And on top of that, more than 2 routes to the carrot. I wouldn’t know if this will hinder gameplay a lot, but I don’t really agree with it. The ammo is placed good enough with all of the powerups and such. I have nothing against it at the moment.

HOST THIS OFTEN?

Host this occasionally, you might like it. This was a 7.5 since it does need some improvement. But after some online play, I decided to raise the rating to a 7.7 instead since I liked it just a little more.[This review has been edited by BlurredD]

Good work.

The levels a lot of fun, tilesets very well used, the music fits perfectly. Some nice variation around the level along with many nice little touches in the eye-candy department. The only things i’m unsure about is that the blue base seems somewhat more open than the red, it is not always easy to drop to a lower level when up the top, and those texts that come up when you get the flags. Other then that its a well polished, professional looking attempt and cartainly gets a d/l recommendation from me.

This level told me something. To make some CTF levels for new year. I got to keep them careful though, anyways

Nice tileset use, it was great. Although i feel the baackround could of been a bit better (i dont know how though) the use was great. The ammo placement was ok, i especially liked some of the powerup placement, ingenius RF powerup placement. The bases placed well. Anyways, this has what a good CTF level is suppose to have, but it is fun to play, which boosted the 6 i was GOING to give it to a 7. I know i might be rating to low, but………….

OVERALL: A fun CTF level to play, i have half a mind to rate this a bit lower, but i didnt because
a)ITS NEW YEAR BE NICE EVERYONE
b) YOu included those parrots, i love parrots! ;P
c)its fun to play

Lets start

First, ill do a report on the rooms

The rooms: I must say I was expecting quite more rooms, but the detail in those few rooms make up for it. It is well detailed, goes beyond what a normal room should have etc.
The games/fun: They are interesting and fun, just like the name. The rollercoaster idea, i dun care about originality, was marvelous. I felt it could of been abit longer, but ingenius nonetheless. The pinball was above average, to say the truth, ive never seen a better pinball :O:O:OThe test was irritating and hard, but thats what you get out of tests, but it was good as well. The freeze idea rox, and was really well made and fun. The shaking was cool too, an interesting idea. I did have trouble getting out when i first tried shaking, but got used to the routine later on. Disco rocked, like the red and black tiles. Springroom also looked cool
Sports: The sports were also well done, i cant remember all of them so i cant say much. Some could of been expanded, but i dont think SuperSaiyan did that because the filesize is already big.
Swiiming pool/Bank: The swimming pool was good, some what i think are diving boards are included, a sauna etc. The bank had creativity but lacked size.
Store: Lacked size, but still was interesting. The prices were a bit unfair, having a seekr pu as much as a sugar rush etc.
What else did i forget, oh yeah, battle: The battle room rocked, love the tile and weapon placment etc. I also liked the secret way, it allowed you to explore the level more and stuff. I cant remember anything else, and really arent in the mood for checking, but i will mention what I think is by far the best in this level than any other hotel. That thing is eyecandy. No hotel ive seen so far had eyecandy even half as good asthis. People just think OMG HOTELS ARE ONLY FOR ROOMS AND GAMES, WHO CARES AOBUT EYECANDY, THIS IS ONLY A HOTEL. Well, that aint true, any level should have good eyecandy, even if its 10×10 tiles small! This is certainly the best hotel level which is made form the best hotel tileset and i reccoemend you to download this. Its better than most levels, really (i mean non hotel levels)

Ok, i downloaded this lvl becuase White rabbits extremly loooooong review told me to. The ammo placement is ok, not to over crowded not to bare. There is a few power ups. I think seeker power ups are to strong, but its ok you put them in because both teams have a fair chance of reaching the powerups. Yuou used a selection of ammo, i think there is to little ammo in some places, but this is CTF, not battle. So probably most of the time the players wouldnt have time to gather up ammo unless its a private duel. So good marks for ammo placement.

The bases are placed ok, they are both at the top, both have suckers near them, and both have more than one direction to start off to. It is a good idea to net let the player just run to the side and appear at the opponents base so i like how you made the passages complex instead of straight so it would require skill to reach them.
You used the layers fairly well, especially layer 3. There is a lot of secrets, which he showed to us on the map which comes in the zip. I do agree it wont be fair to the people who dont know this levek and are dueling agianst people who do know this level, but it saves us the frustration of finding the secrets ourselves. Thanks :)
Most of the secrets though, just take you to somewhere else which you can reach by walking there, and most of them are hidden suckers cpvered by layer 3.

The gameplay would be fun, but I think its ment for private CTF duels. By this level I understand that u know how tu use the jungle tileset well. There are complex passage ways, some 2 tiles narrow and some 20. There are lots of logs and stuff, and fair eyecandy.
So I hope that you make good levels like this OR even better in the future.
Overall 8.3 and a download reccomendation

Ok, yes it can, but that’s got nothing to do with this lvl has it? ;)

Ahem.

Deep in the Jungle is Saiyan’s second CTF lvl and to be honest, his first one was better, but only slightly.

The name isn’t very original, but the lvl is. Its structure is both open and tight making players need all the skills they have in order to run around in it as quickly as possible.The secrets are very cool and anyone that knows them by heart will have a big advantage over everyone else. The idea of putting bonus warps into a secret is also nice since it gives campers the opportunity to…surprise, surprise…camp.

The gameplay is really good since there are lots of float ups which stops ppl smashing into walls when they’re running at 250km/h (feels proud about coming up with the float-up idea). Whoever, there are a couple places which requires extended jumping but I guess it adds to the originality since it makes ppl more vulnerable. And as I said, the secrets are very nice to have and so are the well placed springs in the lvl.

The eyecandy is good, but has got nothing special. The secret bonus warp room serves both as a room and as eyecandy (you can only see the roofs of the houses from above). I would prefer to have some more leafes and trees in the foreground because there are so much solid tiles in the lvl and you could put a lot of eyecandy inside them. Apart from those things, there’s nothing original. A couple spikes, eyes in walls, trees, leafes and other jungle stuff.

The ammo placement is good and neat. There’s nothing more to say about it except from that sentence.

Overall, Deep in the Jungle is an excellent CTF lvl with funky music and is suitable for duels, 2 vs 2 and especially public servers. I look forward to playing this. Now the only thing that’s missing is a big WR sign inside the walls.

Aw, about that shaking room, it is very easy to go out. You only need to know how: There are no winds at the exit, so you can actually stand within the area of 5×4 tiles without moving to places, so you can easely exit the place. But just dont hit the springs ;P

HEY… not bad. very nice level, with all that a Hotel Need!!
This is a FiveGoldenStar Hotel.
The Way it is builded is COOL i really like the Rollercoaster!! but the ‘‘Shake’‘ is VERY bad, if you ask me!! you almost can’t stear youself (guess that isn’t a bug…) and at the Exit there is Springs that push you away… but that is the only bad thing i see in this hotel… no, i have 1 more: I DON’T HAVE A ROOM!!!! cries like a baby … but the other rooms is very good. still sniffing . The start is also good, when enter the hotel, you can’t get out… very nice. but the elevator in the start doesn’t work.

I really can’t understand why someone gives this 7, that just plain sucks.
There’s lots of fun gameplay, in many hours, this is really a great hotel to host.
It’s the best I ever saw.
Instead of normal hotels, this have evrything, it’s not boring to play.

First, the rollercoaster isn’t original. Much people used it. But the hotel is awesome. It has very much original things, including a Sauna, and that kind of stuff. The eyecandy is just awesome: download this, because you MUST see this![This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
