Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Online

Excellent tileset. Easy to use, nice eyecandy (i love the golden pipe effect when you make the pipes translucent.. :) There aren’t too many tiles to make a person confused, and almost everything is well grouped together…

hehe Iced, this is my first completed level.. i tried to build levels a few times before, but didn’t get very far before the tilesets (read : beach set) confused me too much and i gave up.. :) Disguise showed me how to build a level properly.. also i’ve created a horde of 3D levels (quake,half-life).. so that experience might help. heh.

Iced: it does? hmmm.. i haven’t seen them around, but i’ll go check again..

oops, forgot… due to the restraints of 1.23 (no trigger zones), i could not convert it from 1.24.. i forgot to select 1.24 and the edit script still has a “query problem…” ;)

oops, forgot to say, i converted this level, piece by piece (thank goodness for alt-tab) from 1.24 to 1.23… :)

well, there is my level tutorial (it’s on this site, so if u really want it, u’ll find it) and there’s diguise’s level building site (think it was www13.brinkster.com/disguise).. and then there is disguise’s tileset tutorial (under articles) on j2o.. look around on www.jazz2city.com for more..

ugh.. infinite fall is really aggrevating, you can see the layer edges (it just stops dead) and there isn’t much eyecandy.. some parts of the eyecandy are really dumb (like where the flamers are.. the lava is in the background, yet goes OVER the actual floor!).. yeah..

chris, just spend more time on your levels.. even if you just sit on them for 10-20 minutes at a time, work on one until it looks and feels like a quality battle/sp level..

Fireclaw : coz i don’t have the normal one with me :( … ummm, if i had the background not moving, then the level would be extremely dull.. :) try setting it.. i had it MUCH faster, but then i decided to take it slow…

i’m sorry it’s tsf guys, but i only have tsf with me here, i forgot gasp the better version (hehe) back at home.. ::sigh::

hmm, okay level for a first.. but zero eyecandy, only layers 4 and 8 were used.. the secret gold-coin room.. well yeah, i admit, i had to go edit the level to find it (norty me :D)..
anyways, prolly a nice little level for those of you with absolutely nothing to do and since i can’t test this out multiplayer, i won’t comment that the playability is sticky at best.. whoops.. ::grin:: Mew, u should’ve tried a single player level with puzzles.. add much more eyecandy though (go on, use those layers, don’t be shy), tone down the flickering, give the player space to breathe in and forget hotels… :D

is what i get if i wanna try and re-upload the thing.. oh well, if it’s not changed.. bangs his head against the table… ::grin:: i should go sleep.. there is a single mislaid tile which i fixed.. and i gave the 7th layer a downward speed of .4 instead of .2.. it gives a better feel of the motion.. let’s hope it uploaded it tho.. (chances are… slim?)

firstoff, aiko, thanks, i’m glad u liked the levels/eyecandy/tilesets/music.. i’m sorry about the use of the mez tilesets guys, but i have a bad connection so my resources are kinda low and i personally think the mez tilesets that i used, rock.. so what if they were used in other levels?? what did you want us to do? create a new tileset for each level? are you nuts? i admit, my levels do seem to have a similar layout, but that’s coz its a BATTLE!!! level, and i’m an artist (of sort). every artist has his/her own style.. this is my style… the "feel" of all my levels will be very much the same, and in a battle pack it will look like it’s the same stuff.. but what would you have me do? also, i put a LOT of hard work in those levels, even Xenophobix.. i did NOT just change the tileset and the name pounds ils!!! anyway, all round, i’m pleased with the ratings, thanks y’all! also, thanks to disguise for the hard work on his part :)..

haw haw, derby.. that was the point! ::grin:: these levels were <u>supposed</u> (i know, tags don’t work) to be REALLY bad.. ;) dang, i knew i made the layout on that level (with the pumpkins) too good.. even Disguise commented on that.. ::sigh::

hawhaw, this was good.. both my levels took me approx a halfhour to make.. but disguise’ ones take the CAKE! hahah.. that wus fun! :)hey, disguise, u forgot to put my name into the Other Authors box! grrrr… ;P

oh yeah, btw ppl, there is a way to get out of that irritating "access violation" that happens every so once in a while.. simply press the end task and then VERY quickly do a 3-finger salute (ctrl-alt-del)… if u do it right, jazz2 will be one of the tasks u can tell windows to kill.. :) umm, this assumes you don’t have a Pentium 10 4000… in which case ur gonna havetae be flash to get this right.. hehehe..

EvilMike : u mean the tubes in the middle? well, ur supposed to be able to, so you can go up and down.. :P there is one more on the far right (if i can ‘member correctly) that’s almost like that, but i did that for accessibility.. ::grin:: anyhow, glad you liked it!
