LEVEL 1 – RAIN WOODS
EYECANDY
There are good backgrounds in Layers 6, 7 & 8. There’s also Rain in the Foreground but I think that it moves too slow. Layer 4 eyecandy looks repetitive though. The platforms look the same mostly.
5/10
GAMEPLAY
This level is far too linear. It is too easy to get through. When you fall into the pits, you don’t die. You should really use the CTF Instant Death trick in these pits. Level was too short. I could just run through it and use Jazz’s copter ears throughout mostly.
2/10
ENEMY PLACEMENT
There were only 8 enemies in this level. I counted them and that was really how many enemies there were in this entire level. Most of them were just Norm Turts and the others were Tuf Turts. The placement is poor as you could just hover or jump over them. 8 enemies is not enough to kill the player.
1/10
OBSTACLE PLACEMENT
There were absolutely NO obstacles in the entire level. Placement is non-existent.
0/10
ITEM & BONUS PLACEMENT
The only items in this level were Tomatoes and there wasn’t very many of them, only about 25. There was no ammo, no PUs or anything else. There was no Bonus Area.
1/10
LEVEL 1 TOTAL SCORE = 9/50
LEVEL 2 – DIVING DOWN
EYECANDY
The background is OK, but you can’t see all of it as you go further down. Layers 3 & 4 looked far too repetitive. There was nothing much else in the way of eyecandy here.
4/10
GAMEPLAY
This level was shorter than the first level. It was boring as all you were doing was swimming round shooting fish and then getting to an exit which I did in about 20 seconds.
1/10
ENEMY PLACEMENT
There were only 9 Fish in this level. They were poorly placed as you could easily swim past them.
1/10
OBSTACLE PLACEMENT
This level also has no obstacles, meaning placement is non-existent.
0/10
ITEM & BONUS PLACEMENT
The only items here were the 16 Melons placed in a boring 2 × 2 square form. No Bonus Area.
1/10
LEVEL 2 SCORE = 7/50
LEVEL 3 – BOSS 1: TOASTY
Note: I rate Boss levels differently to the main levels.
EYECANDY
Eyecandy is not bad in this level. I liked the background in Layers 6, 7 & 8. Layer 4 also looks OK.
7/10
GAMEPLAY
I quite liked how the Boss is done here. It was homemade. There is a destruct scenery block that you have to shoot lots of times to make a Trigger Crate drop out. I thought that a text event giving hints about this would have been good as first time players will have no idea what to do.
7.5/10
ITEM PLACEMENT
I think some of the Carrots would have been better as re-generating items. Don’t make them re-appear to often though. Put the longest dealy possible of the Full NRG carrot. Placement of these was good. But as I said, make them re-generate.
7/10
LEVEL 3 (BOSS 1) SCORE = 21.5/30
LEVEL 4 – CUTTED BURNS
EYECANDY
The backgrounds are good. I like the use of the lighting events in the caves though I think it was too dark sometimes to see where you are going. Layer 4 was OK too.
6.5/10
GAMEPLAY
The level was still too short. Though it was a bit harder this time. There was a cave to get through full of spikes. There are Hurt events in this level too meaning that you can get killed. Good level but still a bit short.
6/10
ENEMY PLACEMENT
Placement was OK but there wasn’t really that many enemies. More than LV1 & 2 but you could still hover over them with Jazz’s Copter Ears.
5/10
OBSTACLE PLACEMENT
There was an “Access Granted” block to find in order to access the cave. First time players would not have known where it is. But if playing for the second time you will finish the level even quicker. There wasn’t many other obstacles other than the Hurtand the Freeze Enemy events.
5/10
ITEM & BONUS PLACEMENT
There was some Chicken placed in this level though there wasn’t a lot of it. Not enough for a Sugar Rush. There was a Fly Carrot in the cave. There was also a hidden area with Float Up events used here and there was 9 Blue Gems at the end. I didn’t find this area the first time so it’s very well placed.
5.5/10
LEVEL 4 SCORE = 28/50
LEVEL 5 – DON’T FLY THIS AT HOME
EYECANDY
There was only the moving ships in the background and the grey blocks that the player has to follow. The moving ships would get annoying after a while and possibly give you a headache as they do move a bit fast.
3/10
GAMEPLAY
This was the most boring level in the pack. First you get an Airboard and then go through a sucker tube. Next you have to follow a path of grey blocks to some ship or something. I was doing this for 10 minutes and nearly resorted to quitting as I got so bored.
1/10
ENEMY PLACEMENT
The only enemies here are Bees and Floating Suckers. These enemies are easy to avoid and they do get annoying as that is they are the only enemies you will see throughout the entire level.
1/10
OBSTACLE PLACEMENT
Obstacles are non-existent here.
0/10 – I give this a zero as I think a level should at least have some obstacles.
ITEM & BONUS PLACEMENT
There are only Gems and Burgers all placed in the boring 2 × 2 square shapes. Nothing else here.
1/10
LEVEL 5 SCORE = 6/50
LEVEL 6 – BOSS 2: SPLOCK
EYECANDY
Layer 4 is slightly too repetitive but the backgrounds look great. I like the rain too.
7/10
GAMEPLAY
This Boss Arena is bigger than the first one. However, you are really doing the same thing as you did with Boss 1 except there are disappearing platforms which make it a bit harder.
6/10
ITEM PLACEMENT
Carrots are in the level and that’s all you really need in a Boss level. Since the level is bigger the placement of the Carrots is great.
8/10
LEVEL 6 (BOSS 2) SCORE = 21/30
LEVEL 7 – PISTON IT AWAY
EYECANDY
I like the backgrounds here though you need to improve the Layer 4 eyecandy as most of the platforms look the same.
4/10
GAMEPLAY
This level was a bit harder. Though you could still hover over nearly every enemy, there was a “Access Granted” trigger that you had to find. Once you found it, some trigger scenery would activate and you would have to go through a warp puzzle which I like though it is still a bit easy as you can just hover through it.
6/10
ENEMY PLACEMENT
As I said before you could just hover over most of the enemies so the placement isn’t that great.
2/10
ITEM & BONUS PLACEMENT
There was some cheese and some TNT (first new weapon at last) although there was not much use for it. It might have been good for some Bomb Scenery but there wasn’t any. There were 3 Morphs in the Warp Puzzle.
So placement was OK but still not many items.
5/10
OBSTACLE PLACEMENT
As I mentioned before there is the Trigger Zone, Trigger Scenery and the Warp Puzzle. Placement is OK though there wasn’t many more obstacles.
5/10
LEVEL 7 SCORE = 22/50
LEVEL 8 – LOST IN DARKNESS
EYECANDY
The backgrounds are great. Layer 3 is used for some leaves on one of the trees which I like. The Layer 4 eyecandy is still not that great though. Still a bit repetitive at times.
7/10
GAMEPLAY
This level was much harder. There was an “Access Granted” block to get up to by using the disappearing platforms which then opens up a passage through the tree on the right. The spike pits were done much better. If you fall into them Trigger Scenery activates so that you can’t jump or fly out. No checkpoints though which can be annoying. Level was still a bit short though.
7.5/10
ENEMY PLACEMENT
Placement of the enemies was better, you could get killed more easily as you couldn’t hover over many of them. There was a bigger variety of enemies including Dragonflies, Lizards, Dragons and Ghosts.
8/10
ITEM & BONUS PLACEMENT
There were a lot more items to pick up here. There was some Bouncer Ammo (wasn’t very useful though), Gems and quite a lot of Hams. There was also a Morph, though you could use Jazz anyway. So, good placement of the items.
7/10
OBSTACLE PLACEMENT
The disappearing platforms made the level harder which I quite liked. There was an “Access Granted” block to find in order to proceed and I liked the way those Spike pits were done.
9/10
LEVEL 8 SCORE = 38.5/50
LEVEL 9 (BOSS 3: DEBON)
EYECANDY
I really like the moving background. It looks as if the Spaceship is really moving. I like the design of the spaceship too.
10/10
GAMEPLAY
This Boss level is different to the other two. You have to touch the ? blocks one after the other. After that you touch the ! block to defeat the final boss. It was confusing figuring out what to do at first so text events would have been useful.
7/10
ITEM PLACEMENT
There are 4 Carrots that re-generate, this is good as you can get roasted easily. But I think they re-generate to quickly, try putting a longer delay on them.
I also think just 1 Full NRG Carrot might have been useful for emergencies, but set it to the highest delay possible.
8/10
LEVEL 9 (BOSS 3) SCORE = 25/30
OVERALL SCORE: 9 + 7 + 21.5 + 28 + 6 + 21 + 22 + 38.5 + 25 = 178/390 = 4.5641025641025641025641025641026
ROUNDED TO 4.6
RANK: F+ = Not too bad but can be improved

While the boss levels are very well done and original, the main levels are not that great, though there was one or two very good levels. The levels did have great eyecandy but this pack was let down by how short the levels were. So, I’m afraid it’s no DR.
Normally I’d give an N/A if it’s 5 or more but I’ll be nice and give this download an N/A because it has some really cool features and the bosses are original.
EDIT: I just got a PM from Ischa saying that his levels are for beginners so next time I review another one of Ischa’s levels I will think about that.
Phew, my longest review ever. Over 1700 words!
~SPAZ18
I have a question:
How I can shoot the bosses?
I write the levels:
Level 1:
Rain Woods:
Where is the intro?
This is a good tileset, but the level is very short.
Level 2:
Diving Down:
Yes,it’s a very good level. There are some fishes and the eyecandy is very good.I like this tileset.
Level 3:
Boss:Toasty:
I like hot, lava tilesets, but I can’t complete this level!
Level 4:
Cutted Burns:
The underground corridors are very nice, the eyecandy is good and there are lots of hurts!
Level 5:
Do not fly this at home:
I don’t like this level and tileset very much. But the moving ships are good!
Level 6:
Boss:Splock:
It’s a very good tileset ,but I don’t
complete this level too!
Level 7:
Piston in away:
This is my favourite level.
The eyecandy is good and I like warp mazes!
Good work, but this level is too short!
Level 8:
Lost in darkness:
Good eyecandy and good level.
Nice work too!
Level 9:
Boss:Debon:
Very nice tileset and level, but I don’t complete this!
My comment:
Very good tilesets and levels but some of these are very short.
Your idea is nice, but your levels need bit working. For example, you could make them more challenging and not so straightforward: in first level you just walked forward and blasted few enemies, and there werent much of eyecandy. You could make your levels differ, like more trees in first level, maybe visit underground and ceilings and enemies in right spots. And the bosses could have somekind of hint “Shoot Here”, and I didn’t know where to fly in the flying level.
Don’t take this as a bad comment and think “My levels suck”, instead take these as a help how to build your levels even better! Your levels are getting better and better every time. You could use some of other levels as an example, like Ressurection of Evil and other stuff rated high. Look how they have been made and the eyecandy, too. Keep it up!
Another Atlantis level?! However, the review:
EYECANDY:
The eyecandy has a nice use of backround layers. Layers 5,6 and 7 look like what you would see over a river of some sort. I couldn’t see complety because the water was blurring the screen. Layer 4 was quite dull. There were just different coloured blocks. No foreground was used, which makes things even more boring. Overall, nice layers 5,6 and 7. Layer 8 was blocked by the water and restricted space on layer 4, making it pointless. Layer 4 itself was dull, and no layers 1, 2 or 3 (as far as I can see).
EYECANDY RATING: 6.0…Shamefully, this is the highest eyecandy rating i’ve given out in weeks:(
GAMEPLAY:
The level here can be described in one word, boring. The concept of the entire level being underwater is quite underused, and the very few levels that use this concept are usually not great. The exact same goes for this level. All you do for the entire level is shoot fish and bump into 1 or 2 trigger crates. At the end, there is a boss. The worst thing is that there is no explination for why you are shooting loads of fish and killing the uterus boss. Without a story, the level could have been the slightest bit fun. Overall, the underwater concept is quite origional, but it’s no good if the level isn’t fun and all you are doing is shooting fish and looking for things for no reason.
GAMEPLAY RATING: 4.4
AVERAGE RATING: 5.2
RANK: 5 Average
DOWNLOAD?: I wouldn’t recommend this as a level, since it is rather boring and pointless. However, Jazz 2 doesn’t get many decent underwater levels.
Ischa has released a pack called The Three Seasons. Before we get into the review, I would like to suggest providing the links or telling us where to find the music. OK, now for the review:
SUMMER FOREST:
I thought the eyecandy in this level was OK. Not great though. There weren’t any problems with the eyecandy, no bugs or mask problems. However, there weren’t any particular parts of the level that were exciting or significant. Not much to say about the eyecandy, except that it was good, but not great.
The gameplay…well, there wasn’t really a lot of gameplay in the level. There were not enough enemies to make the level harder. The were only blocks used in the level. There was one trigger event, and all that was used for is getting the only type of ammo in the entire level. There wasn’t really anything to stand in the way, except some very easy obstacles. You reach the boss at the end, but if you die, you must start the level all over again, which is fustraiting. The boss its self was made harder by those funny freeze things, which is good because Bubba is a prety easy boss. There was also a Fall down and die obstacle which is one of the most fustraiting obstacles, especially when you have to type JJK.
LEVEL RATING: 5.7
AUTUMN SWAMPS:
The eyecandy is pretty much the smae in this level. No bugs, but nothing special either, except one bit of the level, where you have to be spaz and then you find yourself running along a very long branch. That banch, however, was the most appealing of all the branches of JJ2.
The gameplay in the last level was empty, but this level is even emptier. There were even less enemies and even less ammo. There were some little wind obstacles, but they were quite easy. There area couple of parts where you have to morph characters. Overall, this level was emptier.
LEVEL RATING: 5.1
WINTER GLACIER:
The eyecandy, again, was boring. OK but nothing special.
The gameplay was alot better than the previous levels. Especially at the beginning. There were more enemies, the level was alot harder and there was a nice trigger puzzle. However, there was less ammo than before and it was the most usless kind, freezing ammo. Also, the end boss may have a bug because it took a long time to appear when I got to the end, and it suddenly appeared in the middle of the level and started attacking.
LEVEL RATING: 6.4
OTHER THINGS:
Yes. Another point is that the levels were all very short. I feel that if they were longer, more gemplay could have been included. I would decrease the rating, but because of the lack of gameplay, that may have already been achived.
AVERAGE RATING: 5.7
RANK: 5 Average
DOWNLOAD: They were some average levels, but there wasn’t really anything special in the pack.
I don’t dare to think what could you do with an episode. Instead, you made it VERY WELL. The tower was pretty good and the helping characters had names (but seldom you moved someone’s name to another). First I am underearth. There are boulders falling and a spring between the spikes. Then the ‘lightmasks’. It made the episode good. You also made the Schwartzenguard become VEEERY original with the pit thing. Then there’s rain and tsunami. The dike breaks and I start having fun. There were good triggers before. The annoying thing are the standard bosses. Then there are tornadoes, and i DON’T particularly love the flight might thing. The next was decisely better. The blocks could be blown up and changed very well colors. Then the volcanoes. There are boulders expoding and lava pits. Then there is the orbit thing. I don’t change the puzzle bonus rating because the ideas were mine. Then there is a robot machine. The spikes were placed well.
Rating: 8
DR: Positive
What to say…
For starters the story was a good idea, but you should have included it more into your levels.
THe basic levels for each element weren’t the best. THey were eather,
A: Too short
B: Too confusing
C: Too many ways to die without being able to do anything about it (Ex: First Fire Level)
The best thing about your basic levels was the background, that was arwsome. They matched perfictly with what the level was about.
The bosses where also good, except the Fire boss, and the Rocket T. as the last boss. The Rocket T. glitched a few times I faced him, then when he would run he would just go stright. This made it way too hard to catch up if you skew up even once.
The other bosses were made extreamly well. The envierment combined with the boss’s powers made the final levels a fun Challenge.
However, the levels have cool effects which would be great to look over, just to learn how things are done, but sence you put a password on them then there not worth downloading.
Overall, the levels aren’t worth downloading. If you could just download the bosses, I would recommend that, but the whole packege isn’t worth it.
Redo the basic levels, less complexsity, and more stright forward (plus make them longer if you can). I would like to see a remake if you ever choose to remake it.
OK, this is gonna be probably my longest review ever.
LEVEL PACK PLAYING TIME: 10-15 mins for first time players of this pack. Less if you have played before.
LEVEL 1
EYECANDY: The background looks a bit dull as there is nothing in Layers 5, 6 or 7. No foreground either. Layer 3 is used but only for the collapsing sand. 3/10
GAMEPLAY: This level is too short. This can be finished in about 1 min – 1:30. The objective in this level is to avoid all the 3 traps and get to the end. Dull. 2/10
ENEMIES: There are not enough enemies in this level to kill you. There’s some Crabs, Tube Turts and some Fish. 2/10
OBSTACLES: There are 3 traps in this level as I have mentioned before:
1. There is a pit full of Gems. Fall for the trick and you are trapped.
2. There are some “!” blocks with 2 ways to go. Choose the wrong way and you are trapped AGAIN.
3. There is some Collapsing Scenery in the sand about half-way through the level. Fall down through this and guess what happens. Trapped YET AGAIN.
I found these traps annoying. I do not like these “JJK” moments. 3/10
PICKUPS: Gems. But you’re trapped if you go for them. 1/10
LEVEL 1 MARK: 11/50
LEVEL 2
EYECANDY: This time there is a background in Layers 6 & 7 but it looks kinda empty when not in the water. 4/10
GAMEPLAY: I couldn’t really understand the objective in this level. You have to find a flashing block which then displays the message “ACCESS GRANTED.” I go to the other end of the level and jump out the water to find that this is the end. Confusing. 3/10
ENEMIES: Not that many. Some Crabs, Tube Turts and Fish. Not really enough to kill you. 2/10
OBSTACLES: There’s a Destruct Scenery block where the flashing block is. Not that many obstacles in the level. 1/10
PICKUPS: Some Seeker (Gun4) ammo and gems but that’s just about it really. 2/10
LEVEL 2 MARK: 12/50
LEVEL 3
EYECANDY: Hard too really see any eyecandy when you are being sucked up really fast. But there was not much of a background. No foreground. Looks OK in the water. 4/10
GAMEPLAY: Errr… You’ll just being sucked up really fast. Not much Gameplay in this level. Level ends in about 20-30 seconds. 1/10.
ENEMIES: Some Fish, but it’s hard to be killed by them. 1/10.
OBSTACLES: None at all. 1/10
PICKUPS: Bouncer (Gun3) ammo and Gems but it’s impossible to pick them all up as you are moving too fast to get everything. 1/10
LEVEL 3 MARK: 8/50
LEVEL 4
EYECANDY: I really do not like the background at all. The fast moving stars are annoying and could even give you a headache. Not much else to see in the way of eyecandy in this level. The meteors do not tile very well with the background. 1/10.
GAMEPLAY: You have to follow a path of meteors to Devan’s ship. This can get boring. 1/10
ENEMIES: None at all. 1/10
OBSTACLES: None at all. 1/10
PICKUPS: Just some RF Rocket (Gun5) ammo. Nothing else. 1/10
LEVEL 4 MARK: 5/50
LEVEL 5
EYECANDY: The grey background does look a bit dull as that is all you can see most of the time. You will then see some moving meteors in the background while fighting Devan which look pretty cool. 4/10
GAMEPLAY: First you have to get through some Destruct Scenery using the 3 Weapons you collected in the previous levels. If you don’t have them then the text says that you have to type “JJK” 4 times. Huh? Can’t really see how that helps. Once you are through the Destruct Scenery, you then Buttstomp into a room where you have to enter a code. If it’s wrong then you’re stuck there which is bad. You could have used the CTF Instant Death trick. After entering the correct code, you then Buttstomp down and then go on to fight Devan. The code idea is cool but getting stuck there isn’t. Level is also short. Finished in about 2-3 minutes. 5/10.
ENEMIES: None, except Devan. 1/10
OBSTACLES: The Destruct Scenery at the beginning and the Code room. Nothing else though. 3/10
PICKUPS: Nothing to pick up whatsoever. 1/10
LEVEL 5 MARK: 14/50
The credits level follows but I don’t think there’s any point in rating it.
TOTAL SCORE: 50/250
FINAL MARK: 2.0

PHEW! Finally done after about 30 minutes. 750+ WORDS!
It would have also been better if you included the music files rather than getting us to search for it.
Rating: Space Waterspout.
ok lets begin with level 1:
Eyecandy: ermmm, eyecandy, is there any, eehhh…..NOOOO there isnt any!!!!
Gameplay: You begin on a plain sand plateau (it doesnt even look like a beach), you will see a gap of 3 tiles high and about 15 tiles long with green gems in it, so you think, well, lets grab them, but!!!!! its a trap, as you enter the gap, a wooden plank will appear and close your escape and then a message will appear: ohno, its a trap!!!
type jjk to restart!!!
DONT DO THAT EVER AGAIN!!! and its even in the beginning of the first level!!!
So, i think well, thats the ‘only one’, but i was wrong, not a minute after it, there are 2 ways to progress which are locked by ! blocks. You have to go to the upper way to progess, but dont go between the 2 sand humps cuz you then will get locked up again!!!
well, then further there is a long sand path, with about 3 enemies spread out in like a width of 60 tiles, and then a woodhouse appear with a crab inside the passage, then you will jump and kill the beast, and notice that the ground will collapse and you will go underwater, and guess what……..
YOU WILL END UP LOCKED UP AGAIN!!!!!!
THIS IS NOW THE THIRTH TIME IN ABOUT 2 OR 3 MINUTES PLAYING THE SAME LEVEL!!!!!
okay, im out of it and as i progress there will be nothin but sand, sand, sand, sand and about 3 crabs orso….
then you will enter a sea of 3 tiles high (i think that seas are much bigger in real), well anyway, you will enter that ‘sea’ and shoot down 5 fishes and 2 tube turts orso… and then the first level will end
Enemy placement: eehhhmmm, about 15 enemies spread out a level of like 15 tiles high and 256 tiles long orso, i think that that is just too less!!!
Ammo: NO ANY!!!
Bonusses: yes, there are bonusses, but they are almost all traps!!!
Overall: an empty level without bonusses or ammo!!!

Eyecandy: no any either, only underwater there IS SOME, but it doesnt look well cuz its not used well
Gameplay: YAY!!! no traps!!!
BUT!!!!!!!! it still is empty!!!
You just search for a minute, shott down a single block, open a way by touching an ‘acces granted’ block thing, and search further through the oh so empty ‘Jack sea’, as you call it
and then you swim a circle (as the level name explains) to the place you started, but then go to above and finish the level, wohhhowww!!!! this was ‘exiting’, NOT!!!! it was just empty in all ways!!!
Enemy placement: 10 fishes, 10 crabs and 2 tube turts in the whole level, thats not enough!!!!
Ammo: AT LEAST THERE IS ANY!!!!! you will get 7 ammo pickups of gun 4, but that still is not enough!!!
Bonusses: eehhh, like 3 green gems, 1 red gem in the whole level!!!

Gameplay: you dont have to do anything, just float up in the water and get to the top of the ‘waterspout’…… Thats just silly!!!
Enemy placement: eehhh, like 25 fishes and thats it…
Ammo: eehhh, like 12 ammos of the bouncer scattered in the whole level…
Bonusses: 5 green gems and 12 red gems, COME WITH FOOD NEXT TIME (ever heared of coins btw???)

Eyecandy: eeehhhh could be MUCH better, its just plainly the tiles you use in the gameplay and nothin more….
Gameplay: well this is the best gameplay of the pack but still!!! you begin by a wall which can only be broken if you had the ammo still carried with you, if youve not you have to type JJK 4 times (dunno why, thats what the text says). Well after that its just walk here, stomp there, and walk there, stomp here, and then a code or something like that, and you will get stuck easily!!!!
After that you will fight devan (surprise) and after that youll finish the level, w00000t!!!!

And dont rush your levels, make them bigger, less empty, spend time on eyecandy and extra gameplay, make fun puzzles, and place more enemies and place them better, and place some pickups like: coins, food, gems, 1ups, carrots, ammo, and othere pickups!!!
Using environment and gameplay events are not a bad idea…..
And in progress put the music in it, or a link to the music zipfile, i was just lucky i already had all the music files!!!!
Well, i hope you will make SPLENDID levels in future!!!!
Then you will be one of those levelmakingmasters!!!
Wouldnt you want to be one???
review by: ~~ Jazz-Les ~~
This is just a few levels wih nothing but a boss. It’s just plain boring. Just a few bosses. I can’t think why someone would even let this stuff that probably took about 10 mins to make on J20. So I’ll give it 1.0.
I started playing this. There was an invisible path, which is good enough. There’s a phantom, which is the start of the enemy events. Women statues even speak to you. There’s a mistake. It names Jazz in the phrase “I’m so glad to meet you, Jazz” Even if I use Spaz or Lori. But nobody is perfect. this can go. Then there are some ‘die when you fall’ holes. I like them, but people dislike them, so I will put a switch to choose if you want them or not in my next episode. There’s also a mystic power which carries the ‘stone which looks like leaven’. I call it so. The statue says me that the blocks near Devan’s lair are of titanium, which can be only destroyed with dynamite. It’s good. There are more enemies on the way. There’s a ‘puzzle’ which I must solve. I must bring the dynamite in the crate to the blocks of titanium. Then I must activate it. It’s pretty funny. A silver crate contains more dynamite which unlocks the blue springs. There’s a long firestorm until I get to the crate which opens Devan’s lair. Until this, it’s all good. BUT… there’s the same devan boss which is quite in all of Ischa’s levels. It’s good, but it makes me feel sick. For example, if I pass my days tripping with some little girls, I’m supposed to have fun. But after 14 days eating macaroni only, it makes even this bad. I would like eating something else when I am with them. So I’d like to have a different boss when I play Ischa’s levels. And the theme! THE SPEAKING MOON WAS STOLEN AND PUT IN AN ANTHILL?!? It’s good for babes, but only teens can play this without cheating. Well, my final rating is 6.5. I hope the administrators agree. Actually i’m not sure if it should be downloaded or not.
Ha Ha, you’ve decided to try again for the 14th time. By now, someone who’s been getting ratings as low as 1s or 2s may have improved. Anyway, the review:
EYECANDY:
Not the worst start, but there’s nothing special there. Just a pack of ‘antholes’ that look like volcanoes and thats it. Nothing else in the backround, nothing in the foreground and the only moving animation used is fire, and thats in the sprite layer.
RATING: 4.5
GAMEPLAY:
Like in most of Ischas levels, the worst problem of all is the gameplay as a whole. For a start, please don’t fustrait the player by all of these ‘challenges’ that end up in you dying. In this case, it is (as always) the increasingly common and annoying ‘fall down and die’ obstacles. If you survive them, you will mistakingly opening a crate full of explosives you need to progress through the level and then reading a small sign that tells you not to, forcing yourself to type JJK. Then, you must dodge a load of flames the width of the level. Finally, you beat up devan retreving back the so called ‘moon’. Another thing is that this would be better in a pack. You would ask yourself, ‘what happened when Jazz was travelling to the anthill?’ or ‘why did Devan steal the moon in the first place?’.

Devan does it again! Boy oh boy he does!
I decided to stop my Ischa Boycott to see if Ischa’s level-making skills had improved. Honestly, here’s the blunt, cold, hard, truthy answer: They’re still terrible. Here’s the sugar coated answer: Keep trying! You can do it! B Moe Positive!
Whats so hard about the concept of getting people in the community to betatest your levels? You don’t have a deadline, and you’re apparently not making purposely bad levels, so why not? I know you read these, as you’ve gone to such lengths as to prove a simple line in my review false, so why not actually take the advice? Sign up at the JCF and make a topic that says “Hey, I have a level, does anyone want to betatest who isn’t going to forget 6 days later?”
Onto the actual level. I’ll let stealing a concept slide. I’ll even let underutilizing the FLoating Rock slide.
What I won’t let slide is the level’s poor design choices.
Why in god’s name would you have the player start by WALKING IN THIN AIR, if later on, every pit kills off the player? That is a terrible thing to do. You toy with the player by adding a secret slightly left to the starting position out of sight, after he’s/she’s used to not having anything there. You don’t toy with them by laying down a ground rule (example “You can walk on thin air”) and then a little later break said rule.
Next, whats up with the Stone Lady? She constantly never makes sense. First she addresses you as “Jazz”. The next time you see her she says “If you’re Spaz or Lori”. Later on she just starts spurting out gibberish but makes it sound important by saying “according to me”
The level itself, is a terrible disjointed mess that’s linear the whole way through. Really Linear. Aside from when you need to get up to the next straight path, the whole level is just a straight path. Theres even a section where you push a crate for 20-25 tiles NOT DOING ANYTHING. It’s a waste of time. Dont get me started about the lame tacked on “jump over fire with 1 tile wide safe zones randomly scattered” area. Finally, there’s the boss fight with Devan. Can we seriously just stop using the same arena for this guy? I’m sure Devan-Stories would be more appreciated if the Devan bossfight wasn’t on a straight line of an arena. Seriously, can we also give Devan a little more motivation than “I’M EVIL! I ‘M OFF TO GO DO EVIL THINGS NOW! HAHAHAHA” or any other villain for that matter. Just because Super Duper Badguy Lemon is the villain of a level, doesn’t mean he’s automatically better than Devan. Especially if he has no motivation to actually do the evil deed aside from “I’m Evil!” (That was aimed at everyone else, not Ischa).
In JJ1, Devan’s motivation was that he hated rabbits and wanted them wiped out. In JJ2, his motivation was to wipe out Jazz’s parents so he can wipe out the rabbits without the Green hare meddling in affairs. In JJA, Dark Shell wanted revenge on Jazz for defeating him 2 years prior.
Those are all short and simple motivations that make the villains much more interesting than “I’m EVIL”.
Finally, the Moon is a jerk. Well, the oversized Boomerang that calls itself “Moon”. he could have flown away anytime he wanted too, but didn’t because he wanted to see Jazz beat up Devan. What a jerkface. If our moon was really like that, I would go to space and slap it on where I assume it’s cheek to be.

A beautiful background have decorated the level very good. I was not able to do it.

A good gameplay! You don’t need only to collect gems, but also coins! You need coins to exit the level or warp to secrets. Very orginal.

My review privileges aren’t revoked! I will make it better now. Maybe I can make this review more clear?
————————————————————
I find the further complete original need not only gems, but also coins to exit the level. But that is not some, you can even travel through Atlantis!
Furthermore I it finds also very good that a Treasure-Hunt-level have been made again, but that I in my review has not typed, because that is not fair.
Moreover I find that being the Hot- and Cold-chambers also complete original. In Cold must you take off a labyrinth and look out that you do not freeze. In Hot you must find a secret route through the walls.
And the Go-To-The-Exit-Secret call I also original. If you are, need you almost always only still but are 20 coins to have for the exit and then you finished.
The only thing that moans, is that there only 1 access Granted exists.
So, again a 9,3 and absolutely a DL!

Rating Turtle Treasure:
Story: Good. The rabbits must find a big treasure through the water.
Rating: 8
Eyecandy: You used an average eyecandy. Not very much, but not too low.
Rating: 7
Tileset Choice: You used the classical Episode 2 Planet 3 tileset, the night beach one. I like it.
Rating: 7
Events: There are still a lack of objects, null ammo and a lot of enemies. I prefered an episode with many items to make the episode easier.

Rating: 7.
Music chosen was classical, like tileset. No bonus, sorry.

Eyecandy:
It is all good, good, good. Good background and a nice path.

It is an episode with five levels. They are short, but at least level 2 is good. I’ve also liked level 4 and 5.

The levels are very easy. I think they are at least OK for beginners.

Just good. Not too much and not too less.

Rating The Mystery of Atlantis:
Eyecandy:
You have created a good background! I wasn’t able to do that. The paths are also okay, but there is no foreground.
Rank: OK
Gameplay:
This is a pack with lots of mazes. Sometimes you need to find an ‘Access Granted’-message to open the door to the next level. That is original, I have never seen it earlier.
Rank: Very good
Obstacles:
Some levels are easy, some levels are harder, but it is more a pack for beginning-JJ2-players.
Rank: Average
Item Placement:
That is good. Not too much, not too little.
Rank: Good
Story:
The story is very original… maybe there is a new myth in the world about Atlantis.

Short review:
This pack is just the same as the rest of Ischas pack. All the levels were short, Mediocre and are the same as each other. There were no changes in the pack, no interesting bits and too many of the attempts to wow the player failed. The puzzles weren’t even puzzles. The ‘stomp the right crate’ part in level 2 is a classic example of what not to do in a level.
Overall, I see no difference between this pack and the other 10 Ischa has uploaded. All of which are easy, not incredibly fun and very short.

I will use same system Gus used:
Story: Shakey. This is the 2nd time you have told us a good plot on the Web Site, but then lack it in the game.
Rating: 7
Eyecandy: You didn’t have any, you used some different blocks here and there, and you had a nice background. But you didn’t do anything creative with the blocks.
Rating: 4
Items: You had milk to pick up, and that is it. putting in Items helps with the Eyecandy too. Their preety much the same thing.
Rating: 4
Enemies: I got to give you creadit for making the Utrois Boss hard, and the Queen Boss was fun, but you got to do more with your levels then make hard bosses. You got to have weaker Bad Guys lead up to the Boss. And Deven shell was way too easy, but it seems you have a style with him, so maybe your leading up to something big…
Rating: 6
Here is my own catoagory the Gus should have considerd
Levels: The levels were not a challange. You have un-reconisable exits, and the level with the time warp thing was way to long and hard. I had to skep it so I could try out the rest of the levels. And the libery level was another problem. You had it easy the whole way, then out of no where you get attacked by a force that would have been more fun to face spread out. You need to stay more balenced. Besides those two, the levels were way too short, and not very entertaining.
Rating: 3
Final Rating: 4.7
Music: You made me hunt it down, and you didn’t make it.

I must give it my Red thomb of death…No download Recommendation…
Wow that was burtle. Well where to begain…
1. the tiles: The tiles were ok, or atleast for this story line it was. But you need more decrations, more detailed in some of your levels.
2. the story: This was horrible. What you explane above makes it sound fine. But in the game itself it was no good at all.
3. the levels: Ok, we know how to play the game. The first level was really a wast of time. All you do is tell us how to play then bring in a boss out of nowhere. The other levels had way to many spelling, and story timeline errors. Come on man, you make the story you follow the story. Plus the levels were way to short.
4. Bugs: Way too many, for starters, in the graveyard level you can’t get to the boss unless you cheat. Also when you face Deven Shell he can run strate into the wall and fly away(that is a classic glitch but you should still fix it). Also in the eleiment Earth it is impossable to get through without getting hurt atleast twice, plus you have a good chance at getting stuck in ceiling.
Your bosses and bad guys were too easy. You had the spirt talk too much, and too quickly. Again, the spelling and grammer errors killed the story alot. Not enough levels. Oh and almost forgot the worst part was the “Break the right box or you lose and have to kill yourself” puzzel. That isn’t a puzzel, that is “Your going to die” situation.
I recommond you go over all these levels, fix the bugs, make some more levels. And help the spirt out. Then repost your levels. I will review it again then. Untill then No Download, is the best downloading…
