Huh?…
I don’t understand why this level is getting such low scores! It’s really a classic that deserves a lot more praise than it’s been getting.
The only real problem I can find with the level is the use of food, but still… it can be fun to have sugar rushes at times.
Aside from that, the level is simply great. The eye candy, the layout, everthing! This looks like it came from Epic or something :-). I think the music fits perfectly, too.
Overall, it’s well worth your download time. Trust me, you won’t regret it :-)!
Hmmm…
There’s really not that much here. They’re pretty small, which makes them nice for lots of close combat, but still… they lack a lot of eye candy. ‘Not really an important download, but it may still be worth your time seeing it’s better than what most people can do with JCS.
An absolutely awesome level. IMHO, A level design that’s pretty much perfect in every way. I disagree with Disguise on the subject of the barrels, because I think that they add to the experience more. It would’ve been too plain if there were nothing in the waste to bump into, after all…
The reason why it didn’t score perfectly wasn’t the fault of the creator, ShadowGpW. It would’ve recieved a 10, however, I have always disliked that particular tileset. And for only one reason, too. That is that the main tiles, of which the majority of the things in your levels are to be constructed, lack realism. They give you that same old ‘a newbie made this’ sense that you get when you look at my first tileset. I think that if dethDooD would’ve just spent a little more time on it, instead of using a cheap, light sourceless gradient, it would’ve come out a lot better. Don’t get me wrong. deth is a great tileset designer, and he proved it with the other tiles in this set, but I think he was rushing to finish this tileset, and left out a very important element. Thus the 8.
This level is sooo cute ;-)…
I was fortunate enough to get to see this level while Fquist was still designing it. I won’t give away which level it parodys, so that you’ll have to go download it for yourself :P. Anyway, Fquist did a very good job of rebuilding this level. He had to use a lot of clever improvisation when converting the tiles without counterparts in the hh98 set. I also love the humorous text :). There’s, so far as I can tell, no errors anywhere. This level deserves a 10, but because the idea is not entirely original, I only give it a 9. Great job, Fquist! :-)
Ahhh…
This ancient tileset reminds me of my early days in tileset creation. It’s got a lot of the same primative elements that I find in my own first sets. Overall, it’s excellent for a begginer’s set… and that’s mostly why it got an 8. It’s got a lot of usefull tiles, which also helps, although not many of them are exactly, well, pretty (typical of first sets). The use of gradients across the faces of many of the tiles would’ve made a better impact, along with a more definate light source. More eye-candy would also be an asset. Overall, I salute Fquist for his excellant work, and sympathize with him for his errors in this early tileset. …DooDlyness… :-).
WoW!…
This level rocks :). It’s the right length, has great use of its tileset, and… it’s really fun! The only reasons why it didn’t get a 10 are that its music is a little too slow-paced for a race level (although it is nice :) ), and in some parts of the level (like the middle) I think a little more eye-candy could’ve been used. Aside from that, it’s great! I absolutely love that background! If you download one race level in your entire life, make it this one! Fquist obviously put a lot of thought into it.
Wonderful tileset! The only real problem I can find is that there’s not quite enough color. Aside from that, it’s DooDly :-).
