wow indeed, mike :) these are 3 very kewl futuristic tilesets, by the same author of the very good heaven (and boy do we love heaven, right?). Although not as big as heaven, and not as much stuff in it, i still love this one very much. actually it doesnt need as much tiles as i think al the kewl stuff is already in it! therefore, i give it a real good 9 for a real good tileset..or 3 tilesets :) download it plz..if u dont, your jazzlife has no sense..:P
hmm still no rating here..lets get started:
an early christmas level, using the holiday hare tileset – obvious choice :)
although looking good when i entered the level, the moment i started hopping around (and boy do i like hopping around…ok irrelevant) it felt like a big confusing mess (no offence). the level looked more like a single player level than a battle area. it even has useless stuff like hurt events..which is really a bad idea in battle. weapon placement was a bit messy, but works fine.
despite the fact that the author didnt really think about how this level would be playable on the internet (maybe because of inexperience? try to practice), this is a nice level for the battle fans out there. the rest might want to have it.
u said it was your first GOOD tileset in the “author’s description”.
i don’t say u cannot create town levels, but it’s boring in my opinion. is it your review or mine? learn to live with critical…
pretty good level, but still some improvements could have been made.
the level layout is quite ok, but has some empty spots in them, as well as some places with too many things in them such as trees and flowers.
weapon placement is in my opinion horrible, not much, and all placed in strange places and numbers(2×2)
overall: check this out, but do not expect uberkewliness, just a fine battle level with hours of fun guaranteed.
to make a long story short:
the set isnt as great as the author claims it is, actually i think its dull and has mostly junk in it, like pictures and stuff. the real tiles are very basic, and we have already seen a lot of those tilesets.
the level isnt that great either, another one of those games levels, which i think is quite boring..we came to jazz to play single player, race, ctf, treasure hunt and of course battle. want to play games? go visit your local games store and get yerself a game of monopoly.
very standard, and not as big as the author claims. what can i say? wash the ego..
im wondering if someone could delete that 1, i dont think its fair, as the reviewer doesnt even give arguments…
JazzED, thats all i can say
i still wonder how there can be bad weapon placement in SINGLE PLAYER..
oh well my rating then…
here are some nice levels (and way better than other single player lvls ive seen these days), containing a 15 minutes fun.
all the levels seem to be pretty good constructed (in my opinion), except for “Magma Caves” which is a bit too lineair and empty. the rest seems fine to me.
looking at the upper review, i would like to make a note that this is a completely unfair rating, as the author rates it without even looking at the pack in a real way, he just goes through it in 5 mins or something.
the music in all levels are good in my opinion, like in Alice in Horrorland, the creepy music plays, which fits perfectly in such a creepy environment.
the level that uses the jazz1 jungle tileset is a real fun level. u have to complete little tests, and flying with a bird trough an enemy camp is real good, a real change from the normal shootstuff
the boss level is finishable. u have to destroy all crates around the machine, before u can tackle the boss (which is a real pain in the ass, dont lose him out of sight!)- fortunately some carrots are at hand.
taking points off for stuff like : i cant finish it, too dark or bad weapon placement is kinda silly – i think it proves that the rater is only experienced in the many battle reviews, but cannot rate single player levels properly.
my rating: a 7. this pack is a nice fresh pack- after all those battle and ctf levels, my fav thingy has returned!
and at last a little copying from Idope’s review on Toxic Wasteland…
Cool level.
Good eyecandy
Nice layout
Good weapon placement and enemy’s
D/l recommendation

and now look at what he said about it in this pack, the same lvl…
this smells ppl..this smells…
i am a huge pokemon fan, but i am really dissapointed in the pokemon stuff that is made here on jazz…
as F!re mentioned it is Viridian City :)
u cant really call this a battle lvl, its more a little lvl that the author made in which was tried to put some fun stuff in it, not decent battle stuff.
u walk around a small viridian forest, then enter the gym thats about all. not a very good lvl, might want to download…might…
what? have my eyes gone mad?
a treasure hunt lvl – finally!
runs off and rates it asap
thats one pretty nice pack o’ tilesets!
especially the one in the city (hmm i wonder where i parked my car…)
the jungle one is good too, altough its not really a junglem its much more a wood thing, but oh well a real jungle tileset already exists, right?
the castle lvl is VERY good too…im really looking forward for some more lvls made with it :)
no its not complicated as the author said it maybe could be, and thats cos it has only 30 VERY basic tiles!
altough a light improvement with his/her last tileset, this still is way too small and basic. advise: make it bigger, put more variety in it, add some nice things for background stuff, as well as useable tiles like vines or small platforms.
i think its way too small and basic. not really anything nice
i can only say the ppl who love being in claustrophobic places should get this, otherwise download it to rate or let it be…
hmm..ive seen this lvl when it was still halfway..and i really thought it was going to be a very nice lvl, but now i see the final version, and i dont like it too much.
using the medivo tileset was pretty nice, but there is almost no eyecandy, and a lot of irritating paths..also very jazz-unfriendly :(
i found only 1 start position, u always start at the red base..which is a very big mistake in CTF :S (yes i did try it 100 times)—-maybe the author didnt set special teamplaces…
the idea of using ice is quite well, but both bases have different springs (the base at the right is harder to reach..more chance of being bounced back)
there are some weapons, but all placed in a strange way and strange areas..
overall..i know the author has put a lot of effort in it, but his attempt to create a nice CTF level has become (quite) a failure…too bad

ow ow ow
anyway…
its a very small tileset
stuff in it looks horrible..one color (well actually 2- blue and purple)- nuffin like neat poles, vines, tubes, flowers (well..flowers in this kind of tileset, although i dont know what it is), anything.
very bad..anyone could have done this..
SPLASH plays his tape*put more effort in it
yay single player!
i dont know what the original Jazz Wars was but this little pack is quite nice..
it contains 6 playable levels, all pretty funny to play. too bad it didnt feature some big puzzles and i was up for the usual running and shooting ;)
i liked the levels created with the MEZ tilesets the best – man nice!
some lvls could have used a bit more stuff in it, as well as some explanation (i didnt really get the plot- first something with freedom fighters, then an emerald, then a bomb :|?)
music was pretty nice, although i could have thought of some better ones that would fit better..but hey still nice
6.7..no wait..lets give it a 7
i really enjoyed it :)
anyway i dont think this deserves rating.. it isnt made by stiletto..
and Cell does have an account
i dont think that would be fair
wait until the uploading does work, or email it to an administrator..im sure that he/she can fix it…(right?)
as a matter of fact it has already been fixed
edit: oops sorry
(have to learn how to read)[This review has been edited by SPLASHcc]
yum pasta!
this could have been a great tilese, but it just misses alot of things (background layers, sucker tubes are some things that really enjoy me while playing :)
the set is very small, and thats a shame..id like to see a bigger version :)
the lvls are quite boring… (but u already knew that, right? the lvl name was boring battle after all)
i do like the name of FASTA PASTA..but hey a name doesnt make the lvl right?
a 3 u get from me – and a warning: i might get crazy-
———————————————————
and then is it allowed to say? i know i should use private messages for this but i’d really like to say that..plz?
stiletto it seems u have almost copied my “work harder” advice…i was talking to u as well..as i wasn’t really happy about your uploads either. (dont see this as a rude thing..see it as an advice..what counts for other ppl counts for u as well)
yeah didnt put in a next lvl setting…cos there isnt a end in the lvl :)
SO THIS IS THE THANKS WE GET FOR MAKING LEVELS AND SETS FOR YOU GUYS EH?
I think it would be better for me to shut up, I might prolly get warned for that, but I dunno.
alarm..jelze is getting a heart attack!
(advice: dont take things too seriously..it might kill u someday)
sees he has already rated this and runs
I am pointing here at the piece o censored that is for download on j2o lately, not the training or hotel lvls. i was pointing at all lvls with bad ratings
runs
