A small and simple level. Layout isn’t very good. Too closed in, and needs more eye candy. Also, events placement can be inproved.
I don’t have much to add to the reviews above. "Death Valley" is a very average level, that is mainly based on endless platforms. And indeed, it’s a bit too large for that kind of level. As a smaller battle, it would be more fun i think.
The eyecandy is okay (nothing exceptional), but the weapon placement is pretty tedious as well. Could be improved.
Only hardcore platform massacre lovers will like to download this. No download recommendation from me (5 points).
A pretty decent level. Could use a bit better design, the layout is OK, the weapons placement is decent, but could be inproved. A bit big, also. And the name Death Valley, I don’t think fits the censored tileset well.
Anyways, Battle Fans I think will find this worth downloading.
A perfectly average level by Gargoyle, uses the d*mn tileset, I felt it was sort of big for a small scale battle, the layout/platform placement was average. Decent eye candy. Most of this is average. I did’t like the event placement too much, and it used too many of the same platforms. The overall layout wasn’t bad.
In conclusion: An average level that you MIGHT want to download. Maybe not.
Dead ends is tru fire claw, i helped him with the level so i’ll give a lil nicer rater ;-)
The power-ups are tooooo revialed but ppl like that :p
Alas, a very small and simple battle level.
VERY boring eye candy. You could have easily used the tileset better. The layout is decent, just a tad too small for my tastes. The powerups could have been placed better and the thing barely uses any events at ALL.
I dunno about the music, sorta annoying. :-)
Conclusion: No d/l recommendation from me, sorry. :-)
“Spiral” is another very basic, simple battle map by Gargoyle.
The layout is okay and somehow original but there is a major lack of eyecandy (below the average) and it’s a tad too small in my opinion. The tileset choice is boring, too. And the background music is kinda chiptunish (01d5k001!) but still a bit annoying :-)
Overall, its slightly below the average (very high four points).
Sorry, but I aint gonna review a lvl of someone that lazy. Fix the bugs, fix the top and improve your lvl, maybe then I’ll rate it. And its all nice u say it has average eyecandy, but it’s up to us to decide, not u…
First off, this level isn’t really big.
Not to mention it has too many dead-ends, one even leads to nothing. People, this is last time I am saying this, don’t use dead-ends in your JJ2 levels! Well, I did a bit like the way the little elevator was made. Well, it was sorta an elevator, and think it was made to be one.
And as I remember, there was a Full Health Carrot (I could be wrong, though), I don’t suggest using them in Battle levels, even more so in small battle levels. And I hate the fact that you took the name!
Anyways, you’ll have much more fun buying the real Unreal Tournament, rather than downloading this.
Mercy? Always. But this is a site where levels are reviewed and rated so…bad luck, Gargoyle :-) And i’m not the only rater. If other reviewers like the level, the average rating will increase.
The level uses the easy to use-MEZ01 set, has a very simple layout and, as iCeD said, hardly any eyecandy. The background music is from JJ2’s Race mode. The usual minor(!) tile placement errors are also included (hide Jazz after foreground layers etc.).
If Unreal looks like this level, i finally know a reason why i didn’t buy Unreal :-)
Not my favourite download (EXTREMELY LOW four points).
Um, can’t you just EDIT your review?
Anyway, I can’t say much for this level itself, it has almost NO eye candy except for a few variating blocks. The design is small, and the weapons could have been placed better.
Overall no d/l recommendation from me. Sorry.
Aiko, i know you will probably say that this level sucks, but please…
HAVE PERSY!!
Ah, le train de Monsieur Gargoyle! C’est une TGV (train de grand vitesse), oui?
Ack…forgot my rudimental french. I am not sure but i think i saw that "train" idea before in some servers. Of course, i don’t know who had it first so no offense.
Lets stick to the facts: this level is bad. It has nearly no design, only a bit of eyecandy (the train in the background) and some tile placement bugs. And last but not least it is way too small to get a higher rating.
Like iCeD already said, this isn’t worth the bandwidth to download, sorry. Spend more time on your levels, Gargoyle. Same thing…blahblah…sorry :-)
P.S.: Next level setting missing/wrong.
This level gets an exceptional 3 from me, for outstandingly bad use of an easy tileset, small size, bad eye candy, basic design..
No d/l reccomendation from me. Blah, this is a bad review, sorry. :-)
Look guys, i hate the tileset too, and the lvl sux! I know! I made it, i just put it here for fun!! Gimme a brake!!
=)
I made the tileset for fun,a and the red eyes stuff was to show that your tired from playing chess too much! and the stuff i did take from JJ2, i worked on ALLOT!! It took allot of time, so again…
GIMME A BRAKE!! =)
my rating is 0, and u don’t suport that.
i HATE the lvl and the tileset is sucky graphix ( like myne in the past ) and i don’t see much option in it, nothing to do..
I agree with Blade here. Pretty useless tileset (only 19 tiles, most of them just black/white squares or edited graphics of Jazz/Spaz.
The example level isn’t worth downloading either (well, a textured background and some layer animations doesnt automatically make a good level). Sorry, its always a pity but i can’t give a download recommendation here.
Oh and one thing, in my opinion it doesn’t make sense to waste J2O webspace with completely unfinished stuff (like this).
I must say I’m not a fan of the level or the tileset. The level has a bad foreground and is too small, and confusing becuase it all looks the same. The tileset is small and really doesn’t serve a purpose. Gargoyle, please spend a good amount of time on your levels so they can have better ratings. :-)
