The BeeBoy is an enemy from Jazz Jackrabbit 2. It also is a JCS Event.

Character details


A swarm of small bees which follow you when you come within 8 tiles of it. Unlike with other enemies, one event will spawn several bees around the general area of the event, so it is possible to create truly huge swarms by placing several BeeBoy events close to each other. These bees are among the smallest enemies in JJ2 and are quite hard to hit. Since they exist in such great numbers per event, it can be hard to kill them all off with a blaster at close range (fortunately, the blaster range is approximately 18 tiles, so the player can stand off at a distance and snipe each bee one by one, provided the level structure allows it).

The bees are most dangerous when the player happens to attract the attention of every single one and they all fly towards him at the same time. If this happens, it is safest to retreat a safe distance or, if not possible, take advantage of the temporary invulnerability after getting hurt (a rabbit will blink whenever something causes you to lose a heart) in order to kill off all the bees before the rabbit returns to normal.

Jazz‘s uppercut move is also fairly effective against bee swarms, because it can kill multiple bees at once when performed. Another advantage is that during buttstomping or uppercutting, the player is practically invincible.
