Discussion: JCS Events

It would be a good thing to discuss how to do event categories. Right now there are two seperate systems used to categorize JCS events:

  • This one, which is non-automated and of which the pages consist of a small event description, an easy overview that shows to which category the JCS category belongs, and which subcategories it contains. Example
  • This one, which is partly automated, and which consists of mostly the same, except it’s organised less logically than the non-automated page. One pro is also that events that do not yet have been made into an entry show up here. Example

I had originally figured we would switch to the automated system, but if I see the additions by BoggyB I like the non-automated page better. Maybe the automated page can be made better-looking. Would it be bad if there were two systems?

Great to see new people contributing to this wiki. With two people contributing the cooperation dynamics (person A gets stimulated to edit by edits from person B and other way around) aren’t great, even if they do work, 3-4 people is a lot better already. ~Fquist

I don’t think having two versions would harm anything, since different people have different tastes. We should only have one if more people tend to use one kind by a very large difference. (this reply was by n00b)
