Total Freaks, unusually referred to as TF, is a Jazz Jackrabbit 2 clan.
History
In 2001, two other clans (the Total Toasters and the Jazz2 Freaks) merged into TF. The leaders and co-leaders of the respective clans also became the (co-)leaders of TF. Originally, TF was led by Unhit (J2F’s former leader) and dopeh (TT’s former leader), assisted by Unknown and CAve.
Eventually, the older TF members became less and less active, and got replaced. White Rabbit became co-leader, after TF’s first ever vice-leader election (Enigma would have won, if he didn’t think there was not enough time for any vice-leading) and replaced the former co-leader CAve. White Rabbit was replaced by Flash after a while due to inactivity and Enigma replaced Unknown.
Not just a clan
TF has always been a crossover between a community and a clan, rather than just a group of gamers. Most activity takes place in their website and IRC channel, though TF has fought in several clanwars and won quite a few of them. Recently most of their members have become inactive, and TF even ended 5th (and last) in their group during the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 World Championship, or the JJ2WC. According to themselves, most members are less interested in JJ2 or have less time to play, causing their JJ2 playing quality to drop to a really low level. TF has been seen by many players as comatose due to this. A major turning point, however, came on the 2nd July, 2006, with the revival of the clan’s old website (not the new, white one) and forums (after two years of downtime). This has convinced the clan that it is still active enough to not merge with the 8D clan, and it is hoped that the recent trend will continue.
By the end of 2007, TF has several people playing Jazz Jackrabbit 2 actively again (including Unhit and Stijn) and is looking for new members, though their IRC channel #[TF] is also still a vital part of the clan.
Additional information
The official mascot of the Total Freaks is the “gg mammal“, and their motto is “gg no re“, which means as much as “Good Game, No Rematch“.
