Well the eyecandy looks great I especcially like the back ground it makes me feel your in a underwaterdomain or something blablabla etc.
I don’t like the leveldesign though
gameplay isnt so good its only like 1-way walk.not many passages which I personally think is very important.
weapondeplacement is ok but could have been better.
BUT! watsup with the music , Im sorry to say it but I dont think it fits in a beach level at all.
Well it was made with a underused tileset but I think you could have done a better job (quite ok for a 2nd ctf lvl though). You’ll have to do with a 7 now but I think you could make great ctf levels in the (FAR! ;P) future.
Go forth and thou most create!
Psychic tileset. Finally! :D
A pretty nice battle level, here. The layout could have been better, as Flash said, too lineair! You could improve it by adding more hills and paths. Also, the level has mostly open (unused) spaces, doesn’t really look good. However, weapon placement was good, as well as the groovy background music. Also, using a well-underused tileset adds up more points.
Overall, not a level you should download for the great eyecandy. No, you should download this level for the same reason you download all of F!re’s levels: Big mass fighting – play this with alot of people! a 7.2
Hmmm, a demo of how i can make a level? It’s more like an example of how a level, at least one that is posted here and wasting webspace, should not look like: in both of the two levels (one uses Castle, the other Jungle), tile placement is not really what i would call fantastic. Apart from that, there are a few events (warps and a boss f.e.) and obstacles (somehow, i got into a dead-end, in level one). It takes about 30 seconds to make it thru’ both levels so it doesn’t seem to be very hard…like erm…a hard single player level.
Sorry, i don’t see the point in this. At least 1.5 points for your attempts, Bjarni. Greetings to Iceland.
P.S.:
Nice try, Ali-Maga alias Bjarni. That’s a tad too obvious. Fquist will delete that review, it is not very appropiate, if you look at the levels.
No doubt: we have to face the fact, that Mister Cell really developed into one of the best and most talented levelmakers in recent Jazz2 history.
“The Crimson Generator” gives another good proof of the above: a very well-designed Treasure hunt level (good idea, this playing mode is so darn underused!). It makes very good use of the great and famous “7th Lava Fall” tileset with its very cool industrial, dark and dirty atmosphere. One interesting thing are the very horizontal dimensions of the level: while its only about 100 tiles in width, it goes 220 tiles down. Not a bad idea in a TH level.
Regarding the eyecandy, i can’t say anything bad. Just looks fine (many layers used…we’ve seen most of these arrangements before though…in some of Commander Dats’ levels for example).
The background music (“Chapter 2” by some finnish tracker [they all RULE! :-]) fits great because it was also used in the original “7th Lava Fall” pack, afaik.
Summing it all up, “The Crimson Generator” is one of the best Treasure Hunt level there is at the moment. If you like that game mode (it’s a bit underestimated in the scene in my opinion), then this is a MUST-HAVE! Otherwise, another great level for your huge Cell collection :-)
Well, nevertheless it’s very good, i think it’s a bit overrated so far (9.5?); reason for this could be DethMan’s awesome tileset. Makes a good 7.5. Bye.
OK, I won’t rate this, just review it. Bjarni, what are you up to this time?
The way I see it, this is more of a story than just a pack of levels. Even though the levels could be a lot better, it’s good to see that Bjarni’s improving a bit (not much). The levels are too liniar (too straight, in one direction), too short, they have too much ammo and too many same enemies. Same places are reachable only for Spaz! Still, i like some ideas (I even liked the pattern the ghost rapiers make when they attack you, how about that? I know, I’m weird).
Bjarni, it’s good that you keep trying to make good levels, but how about sending them to me first, huh? I don’t think others like you for filling this place up with your levels.

heh thanks Unknown Rabbit :) Anyone for those diss-my-level fans :) Please redownload Rabbit Force Demo as I’ve improved some of it and the third level will hopefully soon be out :)
Cool, indeed. But I really don’t think this deserves an 10.0. The level is sometimes really looking empty, but that’s prolly cuz the non-existant background mountains. The level is nice, has some good ammo plaecement, maybe a bit too few but that doesn’t really matter. But now I see why this level looks empty. It has not enough groovy flowers, trees or caterpillars. Also the platforms are maybe a bit too linear, and in fact there are really some empty places. But the music adds the points that you lost with emptyness: it’s excellent! A really seventies disco song (or something, I’m not from the seventies ;). It kinda reminds me of the music from the “Monolpoly” PC game (part one, from about 4 years ago or something) and Jamiroquai ;).
To sump it all up, a 7,0 is yours.
EDIT: Oops, reviewed whil low detail was on. Added 0,5.[This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
Well, at least your “feeling” for level detail is getting better. Not that’s it good yet, tough…
The levels are all kinda the same. Very linear, very boring, very small, very full of enemy’s, and all the same tiles where used for the levels. I son’t think I’ve got much more to add… a 4,0 for the effort.
I think you’re slowly getting better, bjarni, but these levels still (sorry) suck. Maybe if you take much time for every level, add much more eyecandy, add much more variety, add less enemy’s, and stuff. I usually take 2 months to make my levels (Always MP, tough), and I try to make the levels very “comfortable” for the user, what means that they can easily play the level and have fun. So make a level with much eyecandy, much variety, and explain me what “grunts” means :). And: if you really can’t make SP levels, whatever you try, try some other mode, like Race or Treasure (or MP, ofcourse)
Bjarni, do not rate yourself. Don’t deny it because Bjarn… Ali-Mega is also an autist, uses the phrase ‘powerful level’. We can be nice but you can at leaste not cheat, seriously.
Great tilesets, Cell! Now I have almost half of the tilesets of Jazz 1. There are some tiles missing, and some animations don’t work exactly like they should, but I couldn’t have done it better myself.
A little comment about White Rabbit’s review: I have used tiles from Cell’s “Battleships”, because I didn’t intend to post this tileset at first. When I did, I forgot to ask Cell permission to use these tiles (Cell, if you read this: I’m sorry I forgot to ask, but may I use these tiles? If you don’t want me to use them, I’ll remove them from the tileset.) However, I didn’t use any tiles from “Top Secret”. Apart from the ships on the background, I have drawn all the tiles myself.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! You are good son. I love can help you. Son!
it has good ideas, but the levels are way to small…..and way to easy……you need to take more time on making the levels, so that they’re bigger and more challenging.
not bad tazar. keep it up!
Well, I’m not going to rate this. But I can say that you REALLY need to work more on your levels. Basically every aspect except story.
Hmmmm… Not a bad idea. I’ll attempt to make a Heaven level in 2 hours sometime soon.
I will not rate these becouse 1 level was story and i have acces violetion in second lvl.so I will just tell you what SHOULD be better in first lvl.
1#Make more space betwean text evens.
Doh,you CANT build GOOD level at 2 hours,it is just imposible (i dont mention about AVERAGE ones)If you dont belive me you should ask jcs masters.
makeing good lvl take them about 4-5 hours ;)
One more thing,MAYBE my jj2 version got some bugs,BUT there SHOULD NOT be any signs of Acces Violetion error cuz without overlosr prog i would only make myself angry without reason :]

:( :( :( :( :( :( And I was looking forward to this, I feel that your levels seem to slowly be improving, try renaming the zip file, and then re-post it :)
WOW!
This stuff is GREAT!! I wish I could make tilesets like you.
I rate this: 9.5
