Violet, as far as I know, the point of Assault is destroying crates and running around:). I like it. It took me around 0,75 hour to defeat cell in a game with this level. Yeah, I quite like it. Well… Boom. I’m still too lazy to write more (actually I’m busy with cleaning my C: drive :)
I just wrote a super big review for Tomb rabbit, so dun expect something detailed from me today. Go get this:P
This, along with Rabbit Honor guard, must be the greatest level pack ever. It took me almost 2 full days of constent playing(and spleeping…Duh…)to finish this without cheating(well..alright…I cheated once…but just once…). Seeing that i realy feel like this deserves a big review, I will review every temple seperatly. Here goes:
TEMPLE 1:
This has some very designed puzzles. I’ll give away some secrets, or partly… In the central cave, try playing in low detail. It might look pretty ugly, but you’ll be able to discover some carrots, and a shprtcut or two. The first temple of the game is very well designed, it has some great rock efects. I also liked those shifting platforms above the fire, I was’nt able to get across them without losing a health or 2:). The level using egypt_light, where you have to manouver around all those knives, has a short-cut at the start, that goes right to the very end.. I’ll give away that you need TNT to access it, and that the TNT is hidden in some wall.. But thats all ya’ll get outta me:D.
TEMPLE 2:
Yes, if you’r skilled(or just plain lucky:P), you’ll make it to the 2nd temple. One notice: do not play the 1st level of the 2nd temple with low detail on, ‘cuz for some reasen, Kejero did not/just plain forgot to put tiles in layer 8. This already starts with a pretty hard part, where you have to manouver across a big bunch’a knives. There is a way across thefirst one, but the others… Not that i nkow of:P. The 2nd level was one of my personal favorites. It had incredible eyecandy(man I loved those blueish glass windows, they looked so cool), and the most wonderfully fiting music. It had, ofcourse, also a few never-seen-by-me-before puzzles.
TEMPLE 3:
The 3rd temple, and the one where you may find the last needed key. Playing this temple gets very hard, especialy the 4th level. But the first 3 cant be left un-reiewed though;). The 1st 3 levels are actuely one big level(in fact the whole pack is one big level…duh…), wich reloads 3 times during play. It has a giant maze in it, wich took me pretty long to finish. I would’nt mind another maze just as hard as this one in tomb rabbit 2 though;)(but only 1 then:P). The snakes where pretty anoying. Also, one of the snakes was hidding a carrot, wich as, sadly, still not to hard to spot:P. The first 3 levels are actuely only the maze in general, with nothing other that i feel like i need to note, except the wonderful eyecandy, but thats what the whole pack is filled up with:P. I have to give a BIG WARNING about the 4th level: at the crate puzzle, you also have the option of taking one of 2 tunnels, but don’t do that, because you ‘ll just go in one big circle, and end up, more dead then alive likely, at the tunnel oposite of the one you choose. After the crate puzzle, came the only part in the pack i had to cheat my way through: The scarabee-suckertube-thingy-thing:P. I just have no way to explan that one, but it was just too hard for me. I’ve been trying it for about 2 hours, but no. So i decided to jjnowall myself out:P.
FINAL TEMPLE:
The last temple, consisting of only 2, yet incredibly hard levels. Here we also meet ur new enemy(quote:‘Looks pretty dead’:D), the, yes, look alive(or dead:P), mummy buuny thing:P. I am totaly amazed that Kejero managed to animate them so perfectly, because when i looked at the yileset in JCS, i imediatly noticed it would take me 2 weeks to animate them only half as good as Kejero did. They are, some times, pretty hard to get around. They are used in many places, and the fact that they cant be killed(they already have been:P), makes them some of the most iritating d00ds i ever came across. The whole thing also has, once again, great eyecandy and puzzles. As always:). The fact that, on most computer3es, saving will result in some sorta error, even makes it worse. The 2 things i realy liked here where the mirror, at the end of the 2nd level, and the croaking cystal.
ADITIONAL COMENTS:
When i first played this, i was very, very amazed at the total gourgesness of these levels. At that time, i was’nt as good at this as i am today, so i just jjnowalled myself through all the levels. To me, these levels, apart from a few very very very minor flaws are just perfect. They are all filled with mind-botling puzzles, deadly traps, crafty enemys, and, maybe best of all, totaly breathtaking eyecandy. I love the hardness of this pack. Almost each and every level should take to averege JJ2 player at least 6 minutes to finish. This is realy one of the most creative and spectacular single player creations for Jazz2 in the world today.
CONCLUSION:
This is by far one of the most, if not the most breathtaking pack ever created for my Jazz Jackrabbit PC game. The music choices, eyecandy, everything is just so absolutely stunning. I have never, ecept for Rabbit honor guard, given anything a 10.0, but this totaly deserves it. I cant wait ‘till the sequel comes out(if ever:P), and i totaly cant understans why elmer gave this a 3.5, he must be outta his mind. Go download this now, or you’ll miss the most egyptian-like, beautiful pack ever created. Kejero, i now admit you to take you’r place in the hall of shame fame, for being the creater of one of the most awesome packs ever.[This review has been edited by >CelL<]
confused? is not a good name for it. I did not need to go hack it to do it. I played in high detail mode, and the way through the spring part was as clear as day. Oh, and by the way, the tubes are transparant. So that first part was easy. must be your first time using the Astroluminas.
Barf.
Yes, you heard me. Not literally, you understand, but theoretically. Hail to technology.
This level consists of NOTHING other then running around destroying crates. Not a single ounce of anything else. No obstacles, no nothing. The story boosts it up to a 5 however.
(This level is still bad, but unsupported rating removal edit for me. ~Violet) [This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
A progam like this has been made many times before, so I won’t rate it.
Awesome set, it has everything you need to make a good level. The tileset itself and the ctf lvl reminds me a bit of Spacey Universe, but there is enough variety to be different. The guy is an alien, so he has to make himself a homeland :)
Some tiles were ripped (like the warps from mez03), so I’m reducing the rating. I don’t like ripped tiles, it’s almost like taking credit for what someone else made. If it wasn’t for that you would’ve had a perfect 9 from me (sorry), but this is still a great tileset and definitley worth the download if you’re a futuristic tileset fan! :D
An excellent racing lvl. The obstacles are very original and they’re packed with springs, freezing stuff and pinball bumps. I especially like the Steps of Recoil. Very, very nice indeed. :-) Btw, Hawking, do you mind me editing your lvl a little just to make it even harder? Plz??
Anyway, this is a short but must have racing lvl. I’m giving Celestial Races an 8.5 and a download recommendation.
Cheers,
White Rabbit.
Great levels with SWEET EYE CANDY!
Big size, but it doesn’t matter, because it is GOOD!
With menu! Download NOW!
How can a person NOT like this tileset?
It’s perfect, in any way a tileset can be…
Interesting – a “launcher” for AIM… should help those who use AIM. nice work.
Whee. (Fquist asked me why because I said to delete it before. ;P)[This review has been edited by Spaz Boy]
It’s okay. It’s really not hard at all!
Edit: it’s certainly harder than before confusing wouldn’t be my word for it but there is some difficulty to it. [This review has been edited by Fire Sword!]
strange……..
i wil see if i can fixs that. i think that got something to do with the music. and no i didn’t use war torn but i used that before i changed it to metal mania
Well, I can’t run this. Instead, I get an amnesia error, out of memory. I’ll have to see if anyone else can.
Second, Metal Mania was not made by Toxic Bunny. I think it was made by Disguise. Toxic Bunny, however, made the tileset War Torn. The level having the filename torn.j2l, I assume that is what you meant.
Now THAT was easy. Certainly under a minute.
(The tileset was made by Another Jazz 2 Fan)
EDIT:
I did play with low detail off, FYI. It just wasn’t confusing. Simply easy.[This review has been edited by Unknown Rabbit]
EDIT 2:
Ok, low detail off again. Not very confusing, not all that hard, though you’ve added one minute or so. However, I’m not changing my review.[This review has been edited by Unknown Rabbit]
i like the level!!
and i agree with the bit about the difficult tileset. i dont think there’s to much ammo or anything like that, but it is very confusing. but (since i’m a member of BOD) i give it a 8.5 in stead of a 8
Not a very good lvl at all. Just an sort of average quality lvl. The weapons placement is good but there isn’t enough effort put into the lvl and the gameplay isn’t very good either. The lvl also lacks eyecandy and some of the powerups are placed so that only Spaz and Lori can get 50x ammo out of it. Also, since the lvl is TSF only, Lori unfriendlyness is not good so -1 points for that. I also noticed that the lvl isn’t properly masked in some places and it’s very annoying when you run into the unmasked places. And to lower the points even more, a warp is at the corner of the unmasked area which means it can’t be used. Sry Unhit, but this isn’t a very good lvl at all. 4.5 it is.
Cheers,
White Rabbit.
This is a level, but it is a STORY?
Hey what a trick is this? Where is the levels? I don’t see any levels, only STORY. No stories here, LEVELS like Tomb Rabbit!
Edit:Rating came back
Hey why you deleted my rating? It’s MY rating! You are not allowed to change rating only to give this more points. Think next time!!!!!!!!!!
