erm…Nice;)
But if dodges created this why name is Bloody test?
Ill rate you 5!
ONly for fun…
Sand Ocean is Chazz (now Wazz) Jackrabbit’s second level and I’m not feeling it as much as the first. That is not to say that its a bad level, but it doesn’t have the same level of polish that Castle Manor did.
It has some clever ideas in it, for example it implements a few speedy QTE-esque areas. I would have liked to see these bits in the level a bit more, honestly. It also is split up into two core segments. Segment 1 is essentially a proper continuation of Castle Manor, and the design doesn’t really mesh well with the Beach tileset. Of the two segments, its my favorite, but it doesn’t feel “Beach-y”, and would do much better in an indoors tileset. The second segment is your average CliffyB styled JJ2 level with a clever bit where a player must properly navigate V-poles to find a secret, and a not so clever bit where the player is subjected to V-poles with no gameplay (A redux of the earlier Freezer-spring QTE-esque bit would have been perfect here). The Bubba boss fight takes place in a clever arena thats marred by JJ2’s quirks (the hurt events need to be moved up one tile each for them to work).
The gameplay creates a rather fun experience, but compared to Castle Manor (especially when its right after it) Sand Ocean’s flaws start to show. The action doesn’t feel as tight as it did in Castle Manor, and some of the areas in the second segment just seem to be there to fill up a bunch of empty tiles without any real gameplay in mind. Despite this, I still recommend to download Sand Ocean, even if you’ve already played its superior cohort Castle Manor.
you asked for a review, here it is.
Lets start with the bad things
Devious Diamonds is clearly a first level, there are lots of tilebugs, and sometimes it’s hard to see where the path is.
There are way to much goodies, in the bonus you get every powerup and a lot of other food and diamonds. To get in the bonus you have to collect 50 coins, but because there are in the level a total of 71 coins, it’s not very challenging.
But there where also good parts
I have to say, i thought the puzzle with the triggercrate and the bombs was quite original, and the enemy placement was good.
I give it a 4.7, but if you took care about the tilebugs and eyecandy it would be higher.
If you take care of the tilebugs, and take a good look at other levels, you will be a good levelcreator. Dont be afraid to pay attention to the finer details, they can make or break a level.

Errmm… Is this Battle or Single Player?
THE REVIEW
If this is Battle then WHY are there ENEMIES in the level? Having these in a level of this type is a big no-no unless they are used for eyecandy.
The Bees should be removed as these are very annoying.
Eyecandy is good but the level has far too many ammo crates. I found a total of 165 Toaster ammo in this level! Also, there are FOUR Toaster Power-Ups when there should only be one.
All the ammo and items respawn too quickly.
The Bird in the level is also useless as it doesn’t attack other players.
This is also only playable in TSF so not everyone will be able to play it.
COMMENTS & SUGGESTIONS
You have clearly put a lot of effort into this level but I would suggest not using any more than 2 ammo crates. Do not place them close together. Spread them out and try to use the “+3 ammo” items as well. Reduce the amount of Fastfires as everyone will be firing too rapidly.
Also, try increasing the delay on all the weapons and items. Try at least 20 seconds on ammo & items and about 25-30 seconds on Power-Ups.
Do not use more than one Power-up of the same type in a level.
NEVER place a Shield directly in the open as players can shoot these to get 40 seconds of Shield time. Try making the Shield stompable only, so that it reduces to 15 seconds. Also, put a delay of 31 on this.
Remove the invincibility Carrots from the level. These are a very big no-no in a multiplayer level.
THE VERDICT
Well, 10 is very overrated and I don’t think this level is worth that. I’ll give you a 7.0 for the effort put into the level and for the good eyecandy.
I think this level is worth checking out so I’ll give it a download recommendation.
Take all these suggestions into account when making a Battle or CTF level.
Good battle level very good

Sorry… Please correct the orbit !!!
OK! I’ll rewiew your level, because I am your beta tester ;)
The level is pure orginal like in JJ1,but the only one problem is no enemies.
I given you the particular enemies layout and I hope you’ll use this with reason ;)
The rest is very good but the animations would be faster,ex:20-30 fps.
Don’t seccuring your levels by password, because everyone want to check how good level you made.
It’s pretty good, but somewhere i got a sugar rush and got into the ‘above hurt’ bees event, which is unkillable, so all the splats made the sugar rush music stop. :(, i luv that music!
Hehe, i don’t think this is gonna be ever used in a level. But, if it doesn’t contain ripped stuff and it’s all made is MSPaint, then it is pretty good.
Collecting coins is classic JJ2 level design? What game did I play?
Anyways, Chazz- are there any core differences between this and your older version of this upload aside from the music? I want to know if I can just copy and paste over my old review.
the best game

ermm….
if i want to “train” i just play a 2v2 or 3v3/duels/ or just with clan members. Atleast in normal levels. cause this just hurt my eyes, the background has to much x/y speed :S. about the level. the layout and placement isn’t even good enough to call it a real .j2l (level)(file). it looks definitly uninspired, not put any though in how to create a well play level. its filled with 2 dead ends, with large small paths withouth any eyecandy/thin walls/ to many ammo/to fast respawn. in other words, not playable. sorry, this is not a good file.. and no download recommendation, i advice the commnunity to don’t even try to have a look. it makes u very sad, really.
please spent more on you’re levels, add eyecandy, bigger walls, more area’s, no dead ends, bigger levels, more inspiration. this is the advice i give, and this was my review.
this would go great if someone ever made something to modifier the game to play mp3 ‘s or what have you as songs
I hope of the future of Jazz…
I would love to see how this level is though i don’t have TSF.
I to loved commander keen and have recently started converting keen 4 levels to Jazz2, but when labrat-kid made he’s excellent tileset of grasslands, except that he forgot to include the animation of lifts moving up down left right or circular.
This is some really cool stuff. If this episode, even this whole series, doesn’t deserve some of the highest ratings possible, I don’t know what does!
Please don’t waste space with usesell downloads like this. I don’t see a real point in ‘training’ levels but if you want to make one, let it have some aspects from popular levels and areas to train special techniques like RF-Climbing. NO Download recommendation!
